Temperaturesensorsontheengineautomaticallyprovidethecorrectfuel/airmixturerequiredforstarting.Therefore,itisnotnecessarytodepresstheacceleratorpedalwhilestartingacoldorawarmengine.
Startingtheengine
Turnignitionkeytoignitionlockposition2.
Assoonastheenginestarts,releasetheignitionkey.
Thefirstoperationofthestarterisendedautomat-icallywhentheenginestarts.Iftheenginedoesnotstart,subsequentstarteroperationswillnotbeendedautomatically.
Iftheenginefailstostartafter10or15secondsofcranking:
Waitabout10secondsbeforeengagingthestarteragain.
Whenstartingtheengine,bereadytodriveimmediately.Drivevehicleatmoderatespeedsandavoidenginespeedsabove4200rpmduringthefirst5minutes.
Donotlettheengineidletowarmup.
Danger!
Engineexhaustfumeshavemanycompo-nentswhichyoucansmell.Theyalsocontaincarbonmonoxide(CO),whichisacolorlessandodorlessgas.Carbonmonoxidecancauseunconsciousnessandevendeathifinhaled.
Neverstartorlettheengineruninanenclosed,unventilatedarea.Itisnotrec-ommendedtositinyourcarforprolongedperiodswiththeengineonandthecarnotmoving.

Anunattendedvehiclewitharunningengineispotentiallyhazardous.Ifwarninglightsshouldcomeontoindicateimproperopera-tion,theywouldgounnoticed.
Neverleavetheengineidlingunattended.

Donotparkoroperatethevehicleinareaswherethehotexhaustsystemmaycomeincontactwithdrygrass,brush,fuelspillorotherflammablematerial.

Ifyourcarcatchesonfireforanyreason,callthefiredepartment.Donotendangeryourlifebyattemptingtoputoutthefire.
Stoppingengine
Turnkeybacktoposition3.
Donotstopengineimmediatelyafterhardorextendeddriving.Keepenginerunningatincreasedidleforabouttwominutestopreventexcessiveheatbuild-upbeforeturningoffengine.
Toavoidbatteryrun-down,alwaysremovetheignitionkeyfromtheignitionlock.
Makesurethatwhenyouleavethecar,evenbriefly,youhavewithdrawntheignitionkey.
Engagethesteeringlockbymovingthesteeringwheeltotheleftorright.Turnthesteeringwheeltothelockingpositionbeforeyouswitchofftheenginesothatyoudon’thavetoexertyourselfwhenlockingorunlockingthesteering.

Dangerofinjury.Hotenginecompartmentcomponentscanburnskinoncontact.
Beforeworkingonanypartintheenginecompartment,turntheengineoffandletitcooldownsufficiently.

Theradiatorandradiatorfansareinthefrontofthecar.Theengine-compartmentblowerismountedintheenginecompartment.

Riskofinjury.Aftertheengineisswitchedoff,theengine-compartmenttemperaturesismonitoredforapprox.30minutes.Duringthisperiod,anddependingontemperature,theengine-compartmentblowermaycontin-uetorunorstarttorun.

Ifthegaragedooropensorcloseswithoutyouoperatingthegaragedoorunitinyourcar,contactthedealerwhoinstalledtheautomaticgaragedoortohavethefrequencyand/orcodingofthegaragedoorsignalchangedormodified.
