the display) when failure is detected in twilight sensor (adjusting
headlight sensitivity).

The warning light stays on or comes on glowing steadily when
travelling (together with the message on the display) when there is a
failure in the injection/ignition system that could cause an increase in
exhaust gas emissions, loss of performance, poor driveability and high
consumption.U

EOBD - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE (petrol versions)
In normal conditions, turning the ignition key to MAR, the warning
light turns on, but it should go off when the engine has started.
The initial turning on indicates that the warning light is working
properly.
If the warning light stays on or turns on when travelling
(together with the message on the display):
❒glowing steadily- means a fault in the supply/ignition system
which could cause high emissions at the exhaust, possible lack of
performance, poor handling and high consumption levels.
In these conditions it is possible to continue driving without however
requiring heavy effort or high speed from the engine. Prolonged use of
the car with the warning light on may cause damages. Contact Lancia
Dealership as soon as possible.
The warning light goes off if the fault disappears, but it is still stored
by the system.

❒flashing- indicates the possibility of damage to the catalyst (see
“EOBD system” in section “Dashboard and controls”).
If the light flashes, it is necessary to release the accelerator pedal to
lower the speed of the engine until the warning light stops flashing;
continue the journey at moderate speed, trying to avoid driving
conditions that may cause further flashing and contact Lancia
Dealership as soon as possible.U

If with ignition key at MAR, the
Uwarning light does not turn on or if it turns on with fixed light
or flashing when the car is travelling (on certain versions together with the message on the display),
contact Lancia Dealership as soon as possible. Warning light
Uoperation can by checked by traf-
fic agents by proper equipment therefore, comply with laws and regulations in force in the country
where you are driving.
GENERIC FAILURE INDICATION
The warning light on the dial comes on when the engine oil pressure
sensor is faulty and, for Multijet versions with modal instrument
panel, also when a failure is detected in diesel fuel sensor. Contact
Lancia Dealership as soon as possible.

Turning the ignition key to MAR the warning light on the cluster shall
come on, but it should go off as soon as the engine is started.
The warning light comes on flashing on the cluster (together with the
message on the multifunction display and the buzzer) to indicate a
gearbox failure.

In the case of a gearbox fault, contact Lancia Dealership as soon as possible to

DOOR OPENING/CLOSING
Emergency door locking device from outside
The doors are fitted with a device which makes it possible to close the
doors with the lock without power supply.
To close, proceed as follows:
❒insert the ignition key in the pawl B
❒turn the device to position 1 and close the ledge.
To open, proceed as follows:
❒insert the key in the pawl and turn it clockwise
❒open the driver’s door
❒from the vehicle inside open the remaining doors by operating the
levers located in the handles.
