❒“SENS LO”: low sensitivity;
❒“SENS DX”: high sensitivity.
RM function (Radio Monitor)
With this function it is possible to listen to the radio
while the cassete tape winds/rewinds.
Normally during tape fast forward/rewind, the radio is
silent; if required, turning on the RM function the radio
can be heard during this phase.
To turn the function on/off, use button 9 (
˜) or 12
(
÷). The display will show the current status of the
function:
❒“RM ON”: function on;
❒“RM OFF”: function off.PHONE function
(telephone volume adjustment)
With this function it is possible to adjust (setting from
1 to 66) or cut off (OFF setting) the telephone sound.
To adjust or cut off, use button 9 (
˜) or 12 (÷).
The display will show the current status of the
function:
❒“PHONE”: function on;
❒“PHONE 23”: function on with volume setting 23;
❒“OFF”: function off.
HICUT function (treble reduction)
Using this function it is possible to reduce the treble
tones, in accordance with the signal transmitted.
To turn the function on/off, use button 9 (
˜) or 12
(
÷).
The display will show the current status of the
function:
❒“HICUT ON”: function on;
❒“NO HICUT”: function off.

IGN TIME function (system power off)
(where provided)
This function enables to switch the sound system off
according to two different modes. To turn the
function on/off use button 9 (
˜) or 12 (÷).
The display will show the selected mode:
❒“00 MIN”: deactivation dependent on ignition key;
the sound system will turn off automatically as soon
as the ignition key is turned to STOP;
❒“20 MIN”: deactivation independent of ignition key;
the sound system will stay on for max. 20 minutes
after turning the ignition key to STOP.
IMPORTANT: Should the sound system turn off
automatically after turning the ignition key to STOP
(for both immediate or 20-minute delayed
deactivation), it will turn on automatically when
turning the ignition key to MAR. When the sound
system is turned off using the relevant button 21
(ON/OFF), it will stay off even when turning the key
to MAR.TAPES PLAYER (TAPE)
Activating the tape player
To turn the tape player on, even when the set is off,
insert the cassette in the slot (4) with the tape
rightwards.
If the cassette is already in, press button 6
(SRC-SC) to select the tape function. Playing will start
automatically.
Playing a cassette
After turning on the tape player, the tape begins playing
automatically and the display shows either “SIDE A” or
“SIDE B” depending on which side is playing. When the
cassette is inserted, the player starts playing side A of
the tape.
If the cassette is inserted, the display shows the
wording “CC-IN”, which remains on the display eve
when different operating modes are chosen (Radio or
CD Changer). The symbol goes off after ejection of
the tape.

Changing the tape playing side
After playing the tape, the cassette side is changed
automatically (Autoreverse function).
The display shows the tape side being played.
To change side before the end of the tape, press
button 3 (
¯˙) (Reverse function); the display will
change accordingly.
MSS function
(searching previous/next track)
Briefly press button 8 (
N), to play the next track on
the cassette and button 10 (
O) to play the previous
track.
During fast forward the display shows the wording
“MSS FF” followed by the number of the next pieces
to be skipped.
Keep button 8 (
N) or 10 (O), pressed to obtain
continuous forwards/backwards. Keep these buttons
pressed to move forwards/backwards the number of
required pieces.During rewind the display shows the wording “MSS
FR” followed by the number of the previous pieces to
be skipped.
MSS function is interrupted in the following cases:
❒when the sound source is changed;
❒when the cassette is ejected;
❒when the side of the tape is reversed;
❒when a function that needs the display for new
information is turned on/off;
❒when the set is turned off;
❒when the TA (traffic information) and Tel-mute
functions are on and when receiving an emergency
alarm (PTY31). After the message the set resumes
playing;
❒when button 9 (
˜) or 12 (÷) is pressed.

Tape fast forward/rewind
To move the tape fast forward, press button 9 (
˜)
or 12 (
÷) depending on the direction of the tape.
The display will show the direction selected:
❒“FORWARD”;
❒“REWIND”.
To interrupt fast forward/rewind, press again button 9
(
˜) or 12 (÷).
The fast forward/rewind function is interrupted in the
following cases:
❒when the sound source is changed;
❒when the cassette is ejected;
❒when the side of the tape is reversed;
❒when a function that needs the display for new
information is turned on/off;
❒when the set is turned off;
❒when the TA (traffic information) and Tel-mute
functions are on and when receiving an emergency
alarm (PTY31). After the message the set resumes
playing;
❒when button 8 (
N) or 10 (O) is pressed.Pause function
To pause the cassette player, press button 16 (3-II).
The display will show “PAUSE”. To listen to the track
again, press again button 16 (3-II).
The pause function is automatically cancelled changing
the sound source.
Scan function (scanning tracks)
With this function it is possible to hear all the tracks
contained in the cassette.
Keep button 6 (SRC-SC) pressed until hearing the
“beep” to play the first 10 seconds of all the pieces on
the tape. While playing the track and searching the
start of the next track, the display will show the
wording “SCAN”.
Press button 6 (SRC-SC) again to interrupt scanning
while listening to a track: the word “SCAN” will go off
the display and the cassette will be played starting
from that track.

The scanning sequence is the following:
❒from the track played up to the end of the tracks on
the same side of the tape;
❒playing side change and scanning of all the tracks on
that side;
❒changing again the playing side and scanning all the
tracks on that side. After playing the tracks the
function goes off.
The Scan function is interrupted in the following cases:
❒pressing 6 (SRC-SC) again to continue listening to
the track being played;
❒pausing;
❒pressing a button to search in the 4 directions;
❒pressing button 3 (
¯˙) (Reverse);
❒pressing button 19 (AUD-LD);
❒if the TA function is on and the station selected is
broadcasting a traffic bulletin;
❒pressing button 11 (MENU-PS).DOLBY B function
Press button 17 (2-
M) to turn on/off the Dolby B
function (device for limiting the noise produced under
licence of “Dolby Laboratories Licensing
Corporation”. Dolby and the “M” symbol are brands
patented by “Dolby Laboratories Licensing
Corporation”).
When the Dolby function is on, the display shows the
“M” symbol.
Ejecting the cassette
To eject the cassette press button 5 (
˚) with the set
on.
After ejecting the cassette, the source heard before
playing the cassette will be resumed.
The cassette cannot be ejected if the radio is off.

CD CHANGER (CDC)
(where provided)
CD Changer (multiple Compact Disc player) for 5
discs, to be located in the glove compartment, is
available upon request.
Selecting the CD Changer
Turn on the set, then press briefly button 6 (SRC-SC)
to select the “CHANGER” function.
Inserting/ejecting a CD
To insert CDs into the CD Changer: insert gently a
CD with the label upwards into the CD Changer
compartment and push it gently to the stop. The
powered loading system will position it correctly.
To eject CDs from the CD Changer: keep pressed the
button with the number corresponding to the CD to
be ejected, set near the CD compartment.Possible error messages
Error messages will be displayed in the following cases:
❒no CD in the CD Changer: the display will show
“NO CD” until changing the sound source;
❒selected CD is illegible (CD not in the selected
position or CD not inserted properly): the display
shows “CD ERROR” after the number of the
selected CD for about 2 seconds. The next CD will
be selected; if there are no other CDs or if they are
also illegible the display will show the wording “NO
CD” until the sound source is changed;
❒error in CD reading: the display shows “CD
ERROR” for about 2 seconds. The next CD will be
selected; if there are no other CDs in the CD
Changer (after the last CD search will restart from
the first one) or if they are also illegible the display
will show the wording “NO CD” until the sound
source is changed;
❒a CD-ROM is inserted: next CD will be selected.

Display information
When the CD Changer is working, the display shows
the following information which means:
❒“T05”: shows the number of the track on the CD;
❒“03:42”: shows the time elapsed since the start of
the track (if the corresponding Menu function is on);
❒“CD 04”: the number of the CD in the loader.
Choosing the CD
Press button 8 (
N) to select the next CD and button
10 (
O) to select the previous CD. If in the menu the
CD time display function was selected, this will be
replaced for about 2 seconds by the CD number.
If the loader does not contain a disc in the position
selected, the display briefly shows the wording “NO
CD”, and the next CD is played automatically.Select track (forward/backward)
Briefly press button 9 (
˜) to play the next track of
the CD chosen and button 12 (
÷) to play the
previous one. Tracks are played in sequence: after the
last track, the first one will be played and vice versa.
To select tracks continuously, keep the button
pressed.
If playing the track started more than 3 seconds ago,
pressing button 12 (
÷) the track is played again
from the start.
In this case if wanting to play the previous track, press
the button twice consecutively.

Fast forward/backward
Keep button 9 (
˜) pressed to move the track
selected forward at high speed and keep button 12
(
÷) pressed to move it quickly backward. Fast
forward/backward is stopped once the button is
released.
If the CD number or CD name display function was
selected in the menu, this will be replaced for about 2
seconds by the CD time display function.Pause function
To pause the CD Changer, press briefly button 16 (3-
II). The display will show “PAUSE”.
To resume playing the track, press button 16 (3-II)
again.
The pause function is automatically cancelled changing
the sound source.
