the interval specified in the Owner’s Manual Supplement. It is recommended
that any problem you notice should be brought to the attention of your Lexus
dealer or qualified service shop for advice.

with 50% coolant and 50% de-ionized water
(vehicles sold in the U.S.A.), 55% coolant 45%
de-ionized water (vehicles sold in Canada).

Positioning the jack
CAUTION
■When raising your vehicle:
Make sure to observe the following to reduce the possibility of death or serious
injur
y.
• Do not put any part of your body or get underneath the vehicle supported only b
y the jack. Always use automotive jack stands or a solid, level, surface.
• Do not start or run the engine while your vehicle is supported by the jack.
• Stop the vehicle on level firm ground, firmly
set the parking brake and put the
selector lever in “P” position.
• Make sure to set the jack properly at the jack point. 
Raising the vehicle with an improperly positioned jack will damage the vehicle
or
may allow the vehicle to fall off the jack.
• Do not raise the vehicle with someone in the vehicle.
• When raising the vehicle, do not place an y ob
jects on top of or underneath the
jack.
When raising your vehicle, position the jack correctly.
Improper placement may damage your vehicle or cause injury.

Brake fluid
■Fluid level
The brake fluid level should be
betw
een the “MAX” and “MIN”
lines on the tank.
Make sure to check the fluid type and prepare the necessary items.

Turn the ignition switch off.
Depress the brake pedal 40 times or more.
Remove the reservoir cap.
Add newly opened brake fluid up to the “MAX” line.

Excess moisture in the fluid can cause a dangerous loss of braking efficiency. Use

■When filling the reservoir
Be careful because brake fluid can harm your hands and eyes and damage painted
sur
faces. 
If fluid gets in your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water immediately. 
If you still experience discom for
t, seek medical attention.
NOTICE
■If the fluid level is low or high
It is normal for the brake fluid level to go down slightly as the brake pads wear or
whe

n the fluid level in the accumulator is high. 
If the reservoir needs frequent refilling, it may indicate a serious mechanical prob -
lem. Have the system checked by your Lexus dealer.

Emergency towing
If a tow truck is not available in an emergency, your vehicle may be tem-
porarily towed by a cable or chain secur

distance at low speeds. 
A driver must be in the vehicle to steer and oper
ate the brakes. The vehi-
cle's wheels, drive train, axles, steer ing and br
akes must be in good con-
dition.

Put the transmission in “N”.
The ignition switch must be in ACC (eng
ine off) or ON (engine running).
CAUTION
■Caution while towing
●Use extreme caution when towing the vehi cle. Avoid sudden starts or erratic
driving maneuvers which place excessive stress on the emergency towing eyelets
and the cable or chain.
●If the engine is not running, the power assi st for the brakes and steering will not
function, making steering and braking more difficult.
