As long as the button is selected,recirculated air cannot be selectedand the air conditioning cannot beswitched off. The blower speed andtemperature are set to maximumperformance automatically andcannot be adjusted manually.
If the button is pressed again, thesystem returns to the previoussetting.
Switching the airconditioning on and off
To switch on/off the cooling effect,press the A/C button. A/C isindicated in the display when thecooling effect is switched on.
Recirculated air
Press the button to toggle betweenoutside air and recirculated interiorair. The light in the button indicatesoperation.

Note: This setting is recommendedonly when driving with the windowsand/or sunroof open.

Blower and air distribution
The amount of air and air distributioncan be set manually using thebuttons. The settings are indicatedin the display. See Manual climatecontrol (page 81). To return to AUTOmode, press the AUTO button.
Switching the airconditioning on and off
Press the A/C button to switch theair conditioning on and off. ECOappears in the display when the airconditioning is switched off. A/Cappears in the display when the airconditioning is switched on.
Switching the automaticclimate control on and off
Note: Switching the automaticclimate control off is recommendedonly when driving with the windowsand/or sunroof open. This ensuresthat the automatic function does notwork against the additional air flowthrough the windows and/or sunroof.
Press OFF to switch off theautomatic climate control. Thesettings remain stored. The heating,ventilation and air conditioningsystem is switched off andrecirculated air is selected.
Press OFF or AUTO to switch thesystem back on. If another button ispressed, the stored settings will bechanged accordingly when thesystem is switched on.

The auxiliary heater aids in warmingthe engine and the interiorcompartment. It is integrated into thecooling system and is automaticallyswitched on or off depending uponthe coolant temperature.
It is possible that when theprogrammable auxiliary heater isactivated, exhaust fumes may comefrom under the sides of the vehicle.This is normal.
ELECTRIC SUNROOF
WARNING
Before operating the electricsunroof you should verify it isfree of obstructions and ensure thatchildren and/or pets are not in theproximity of the sunroof opening.Failure to do so could result in seriouspersonal injury. It is the primaryresponsibility of the supervising adultsto never leave a child unattended ina vehicle and to never leave the keysin an unattended vehicle.
Note: When the switches areoperated often during a short periodof time, the system might becomeinoperable for a certain time toprevent damage due to overheating.
Note: The electric sunroof isconnected to the vehicle’s globalopening and closing feature. SeeGlobal opening and closing (page 40).
There are two ways of opening thesunroof – the rear of the sunroof liftsopen or the sunroof opens from thefront, sliding back under the roof. Thesunroof opens and closes whilst theswitch is pressed.

Momentarily press the open or closebutton to open or close the sunroofautomatically. Press the button asecond time to stop the sunroofopening or closing.
Sunroof anti-trapprotection
WARNINGS
Anti-trap protection is not activeduring the sunroof relearningfunction and when the sunroof is insafety mode. Make sure that thereare no obstacles in the way of theclosing sunroof.
Careless closing of the electricsunroof can override theanti-trap protection and causeinjuries.

Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine The electric sunroof is equipped withanti-trap protection. The sunroof willstop automatically while closing andreverse some distance if there is anobstacle in the way.
To override anti-trap protection whenthere is a resistance, e. g. in thewinter, proceed as follows:
Close the sunroof twice until itreaches the resistance and let itreverse. Close the sunroof a thirdtime to the resistance. Briefly releasethe switch and press againimmediately. The sunroof will overridethe resistance and can then beclosed fully.
Sunroof safety mode
If the system detects a malfunction,it enters a safety mode. The sunroofwill move for only about 0.5 secondsat a time and then stop again. Closethe sunroof by pressing the buttonagain when the sunroof stopsmoving. When the rear of the sunroofis lifted, lift the rear all the way andthen close the sunroof. Have thesystem checked by an expertimmediately.
Sunroof relearning
In case the sunroof no longer closesproperly, follow this relearningprocedure:
•Tilt the rear of the sunroof as faras possible. Release the button.
•Press and hold the same buttonagain for 30 seconds until you seethe sunroof move.
•Release the button andimmediately press and hold itagain. The sunroof will close, openfully and then close again. Do notrelease the button before thesunroof has reached the closedposition for the second time.
If the button is not pressedcontinuously, the relearning functionwill be interrupted. Start theprocedure once more from thebeginning.

Removal
Detach the two lifting straps on thetailgate. Release the cover at its sidesand pull it out horizontally withouttilting it.
Refitting
Insert the cover horizontally, align itand push in as far as the stop. Attachthe lifting straps to the tailgate.
Estate
Pull out the roller cover and securein the retaining points. The cover canbe removed completely by pressingboth ends of the support inwards.

Roof rails (Estate)
The side mounting rails are designedso that racks (for bicycles, skis etc.)from the Ford accessories range canbe fitted. Loads should be evenlydistributed on the cross rails and/orthe side rails. Never place any loadsdirectly onto the roof surface.
Lockable cross rails with fitting keyfrom the Ford accessories range canbe obtained from your dealer.
Note: Take care not to install thecross rails over the rear area of thesunroof in such a way that it wouldrestrict the tilting mechanism.
To minimise wind noise, the twocross rails can be fitted at 30 cmdistance or completely removedwhen they are not in use.
