COURTESY LIGHTS
1. Front courtesy light
2. Map reading lights
With the ignition on, press the corresponding switch.
3. Rear courtesy light
Pressing switch 1 switches on the
front and rear courtesy lights for ten
minutes.
Pressing switch 3 switches on the
rear courtesy light. The front and rear courtesy lights
come on automatically when the
ignition key is removed, on unlocking
the vehicle or on opening one of the
doors.
They gradually go off:
- after the ignition has been switched
on,
- with the ignition off, 30 seconds after the last door is closed,
- when the vehicle is locked. Deactivation
The courtesy lights can be
deactivated by pressing switch
1 for
more than three seconds.
Pressing switch 1 or 3 briely
switches the corresponding courtesy
light on and off.
The map reading lights are not
affected by this and may always be
switched on.
Reactivation
To re-activate the automatic lighting,
press switch 1 again.

INTERIOR LAYOUT
1. Glove box with cooling facility2. Front ashtray
Pull the lid to open the ashtray.
To empty it after opening, press the
tab and remove the ashtray.
3. Storage
4. 12 volt socket
This is a lighter type socket, itted
with a cap.
It is supplied with current from the
running position.
5. Door tray
6. Storage / Can holder
7. Coin storage
8. Waste container
To empty this, open it fully (past the
point of resistance) then pull on the
receptacle to remove it.
To reit it, lock it in place on the
cover.
This container must not be used as
an ashtray.
9. Front seat back pockets
This is itted with a lock.
To open the glove box, lift the
handle.
The glove box lights when the lid is
opened.
It has a ventilation nozzle that
can be closed
A, distributing the
same cooled air as the vents of the
passenger compartment.
It contains three sockets* B for
connecting video equipment.
It has a irst aid kit (according to
country, it may be located in the
boot) and storage compartments for
a pen, the vehicle handbook, a pair
of spectacles, tokens, etc.
REMOVING THE MAT
When removing the mat on the
driver's side:
- push the seat as far back as possible,
- unscrew the ixings fully,
- remove the ixings, then the mat.
When reitting, position the mat
correctly and replace the ixings by
pressing them in.

BOOT LAYOUT
1. Stowing rings
Use the stowing rings located on the
boot loor and on the boot rear inner
panel to secure your luggage.
2. Luggage retaining net
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this
enables your luggage to be secured.
3. 12 volt socket
This is a lighter type socket, installed
on the boot side trim on the left-hand
side.
It is supplied with the ignition off.
4. Hooks
These two hooks permit hooking
of the boot mat cords (refer to the
section "Changing a wheel") and
lifting of the screen to protect the
parcel shelf.
5. Signalling triangle*
Two elastic straps permit the securing
of a signalling triangle.

HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction
indicators lash.
They can operate with the ignition
off.
HORN
Press one of the spokes of the
steering wheel.
Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights*
When braking in an emergency,
depending on the deceleration,
the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch off
automatically the irst time you
accelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off
by pressing the button.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING
SYSTEM (ABS) AND
ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE
DISTRIBUTION (EBFD)
The ABS, in conjunction with the
electronic brake force distribution,
increases the stability and
manoevrability of your vehicle on
braking, in particular on poor or
slippery road surfaces.
Note: when changing wheels (tyres
and rims), make sure that these are
approved.
The anti-lock braking system comes
into operation automatically when
there is a risk of wheel lock. Stop immediately.
In both cases, consult a Peugeot
dealer.
EMERGENCY BRAKING
ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
In an emergency, this system enables
the optimum braking pressure to be
reached more quickly, thus reducing
the stopping distance.
It is triggered by the speed at which
the brake pedal is activated. The
effect of this is a reduction in the
resistance of the pedal and an
increase in braking eficiency.
When this warning light
comes on, accompanied by
a buzzer and a message,
it indicates that there is a
malfunction of the ABS,
which can cause a loss of
control of the vehicle when braking.
When this warning light
comes on, connected to the
STOP and ABS warning
lights, accompanied by a
buzzer and a message,
it indicates that there is a
malfunction of the electronic brake
force distribution, which can cause
a loss of control of the vehicle when
braking. Normal operation of the ABS may
make itself felt by slight vibrations
of the brake pedal.
In emergency braking, press
very irmly without releasing the
pressure.

TRACTION CONTROL (ASR)
AND DYNAMIC STABILITY
CONTROL (ESP)
These systems are linked and
complement the ABS.
The ASR system optimises drive
to prevent the wheels skidding, by
acting on the brakes of the drive
wheels and on the engine. It also
allows the directional stability of
the vehicle to be improved on
acceleration.
If there is a variation between the
trajectory followed by the vehicle and
that required by the driver, the ESP
system automatically acts on the
engine and the brake of one or more
wheels, in order to put the vehicle
back on course.Disarming the ASR/ESP systems
In exceptional conditions (starting a
vehicle which is bogged down, stuck
in snow, on soft ground, ...), it may
be advisable to disarm the ASR and
ESP systems, so that the wheels can
move freely and regain grip.

Press the “ESP OFF” switch,
located on the central section of

The ESP/ASR systems
offer exceptional safety
in normal driving, but this
should not encourage the
driver to take extra risks or
drive at high speed.
The correct functioning of these
systems depends on observation of
the manufacturer’s recommenda-
tions regarding the wheels (tyres
and rims), the braking components,
the electronic components and the
PEUGEOT assembly and operation
procedures.
After an impact, have the systems
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Operation of the ASR and ESP
systems
The switch lights up and
the warning light comes on:
the ASR and ESP systems
are disarmed.
These are triggered again:
F automatically if the ignition is
switched off,
F automatically above 30 mph
(50 km/h),
F manually by pressing the switch
again. When a malfunction of
the systems occurs, the
switch light lashes and
the warning light comes
on, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the systems checked.
The warning light lashes
if the ASR or ESP is
activated.
