GEARS ENGAGING PROBLEMS
Check t he c lutch disk re lease (see the
checking method bellow described.)
Is the release corre ct ?
Check the adjustment of the gearbox
extern c ontrol lever (adjust if ne cessary).
If the problem is persisting.
Check the clutch releasing fork stroke
(see the method bellow descri bed). Is the fork stroke correct?
Int e rna l probl e m i n the ge arbox

C HECKING METHOD
“ DISK RELEASE “
The checking is to be performed at idling, with warm engine. - release the clutch,
- wait for thre e seconds,
- engage the reverse dri ving (engagement must be performed without noise).
CHECKING METHOD
“ CLUTCH RELEASING FORK STROKE “
By means of a lineal perform the following operations:
- measure the distance between the fork upper part and the clutch cable support, in the
clutched position;
- measure the distance be tween t he fork upper part and c lutch cable support, in t he
clutch releasing position;
- calculate the differe nce between the t wo values (the fork active stroke) and compare i t
with the re ference value ( 29 mm).

NOISE AT FREE CLUTCH
(oppressive and regular noise subject to engine regime)
Check for oil leaks at clutch casing
level.
If there are no leaks.
Check the tightening and condition
of the gearbox and engine supports
( fix it if ne cessary).
If the incident is persisting.
Check the engine running at idling
(unstable or i ncorrect).
Fix it if necessary. If the incident is persisting

REPLACEMENT
This opera tion is to be pe rformed after dismounting t he gearbox –engine a ssembly a nd
after t heir separation.
DISMOUNTING
M ount the i mmobilizing sector MOT
582. Dism ount the clutch mechanism
attachment screws.
Dismount the mechanism and the clutch
disk.
Perform a visual checking of :
- the wear of the engine flywheel and
of the mechanism plate; - t he c ondi t i on c r own t oo t hi ng for
starter; - the sealing at c rankshaft sealing gasket
level; - the wear of the pressure bearing guide
and of the control fork;
- the conditions of the clutch shaft grooves.
Replace the damaged part s and clean the
clutch shaft grooves.REMOUNTING
D egrease the friction surface of t he engine
flywheel.
Clean the grooves of the clutch shaft.
Check the disk sliding on the clutch shaft
Mo u n t the clutch disk (with hub
protuberance ( A) towards the engine
flywheel).
Center the clutch disk by means of the
centering device AMB 1518.

Pressure bearing – Clutch releasing fork
R EPLACEMENT
This operation is to be performed after separation of the gearbox. from engine
DISMOUNTING
Di smount:
- pressure bearing by swinging over the fork;
- protection bellows and remove the clutch-re leasing fork.
REMOUNTING
Lubricate the guiding tube, slides and fork joint with grease OLISTA LONG TIME
3EP R100 137188. Mount the fork and the protection bellows.
Mount the pressure bearing on the guiding tube with groins ( A) clips-attached on fork
Check the pressure beari ng sliding on guiding tube.
REMARK:
In case of an intervention not implying the gearbox dismounting, or after gearbox
mounting, the control fork is not to be lifted because the pressure bearing groins (A)
may come out from the clutch-releasing fork.
