The FATC (Full Automatic Temperature Control) system automatically controls heating and cool-ing as follows:
1. Push the "AUTO" switch. The indicator light will illuminate confirming that the Face, Floor and/or Bi-Level modes as well as the blowerspeed and, air conditioner will be controlledautomatically. 2. Push the "TEMP" button to set the desired
temperature.The temperature will increase to the maxi-mum 32°C(90°F) by pushing on the button.Each push of the button will cause the tem-perature to increase by 0.5°C(1°F).The temperature will decrease to the mini-mum 17°C(62°F) by pushing on the button.Each push of the button will cause the tem-perature to decrease by 0.5°C(1°F).

The fan speed can be set to the desired speed by pressing the appropriate fan speed control but-ton. The higher the fan speed is, the more air isdelivered. Pressing the "OFF" button turns offthe fan.
B980A01Y-AAT MANUAL OPERATION The heating and cooling system can be con- trolled manually as well by pushing buttons otherthan the "AUTO" button. In this state, the systemsequentially works according to the order ofbuttons selected.The function of the buttons which are not select-ed will be controlled automatically.Press the "AUTO" button in order to convert toautomatic control of the system. Pressing the button displays the ambienttemperature on the display.

This is used to select fresh outside air or recircu- lation inside air.To change the air intake control mode, (Freshmode, Recirculation mode) push the control but-ton. FRESH MODE ( ) : The indicator light on the button goes on when the air intake control is freshmode. RECIRCULATION MODE ( ) : The indica- tor light on the button is illuminated when the airintake control is recirculation mode. With the "Fresh" mode selected, air enters the vehicle from the outside and is heated or cooledaccording to the function selected.

1- 60 Exhaust gas cutoff mode :
Air enters the vehicle from the outside. But if exhaust gas enters the vehicle from the outside, the exhaust gas cutoff mode ( ) is automa tically converted to the mode, to
prevent exhaust gas from entering the vehicle. NOTE:
o It should be noted that prolonged opera- tion of the heating system in recirculationmode ( ) will give rise to misting ofthe windshield and side windows and theair within the passenger compartment willbecome stale. In addition, prolonged useof the air conditioning with the recircula- tion mode ( ) selected may result in the air within the passenger compartmentbecoming excessively dry.
o When the ignition switch is turned "ON" the air intake control will change to "Fresh" mode (regardless of switch position). Thisis normal operation. The air intake controloperates in "AUTO" mode when turningthe ignition to the ON position if the"AUTO" mode was used before shuttingoff the engine.
CAUTION:If the windows fog up with the Recirculationor A.Q.S mode selected, set the air intakecontrol to the Fresh air position or A.Q.Scontrol to "OFF".
With the "Recirculation" mode selected, air from within the passenger compartment will be drawnthrough the heating system and heated or cooledaccording to the function selected. NOTE:
o It should be noted that prolonged opera- tion of the heating system in "recircula-tion" mode will give rise to fogging of thewindshield and side windows and the airwithin the passenger compartment willbecome stale. In addition, prolonged useof the air conditioning with the "Recircu-lation" mode selected may result in the airwithin the passenger compartment be-coming excessively dry.

This is used to direct the flow of air. Air can be directed to the floor, dashboard outlets, or wind-shield. Four symbols are used to represent Face,Bi-Level, Floor and Floor-Defrost air position.

Face-Level
When selecting the "Face" mode, the indicator light will come on, causing air to be dischargedthrough the face level vents.
Bi-Level
When selecting the "Bi-Level" mode, the indica-tor light will come on and the air will be dischargedthrough the face vents and the floor vents. This makes it possible to have cooler air from thedashboard vents and warmer air from the flooroutlets at the same time.
Floor-Level
When selecting the "Floor-Level" mode, the indi-cator light will come on and the air will be dis-charged through the floor vents, windshield de-froster nozzle, side defroster nozzle, side venti-lator.

1. Playing CD
o Insert the CD with the label facing upward.
o Insert the CD to start CD playback, during
radio operation.
o When a disc is in the CD deck, if you press the play button, the CD player will begin playingeven if the radio is being used.
o The CD player can be used when the ignition switch is in either the "ON" or "ACC" position.
2. FF/REW ( / ) If you want to fast forward or reverse through the compact disc track, push and hold the FF ( )or REW ( ) button.When you release the button, the compact discplayer will resume playing.
3. TRACK UP/DOWN
o The desired track on the disc currently being played can be selected using the track num- ber.
o Press once to skip forward to the beginn- ing of the next track. Press once to skipback to the beginning of the track.
4. SCAN Button
o Press the SCAN button to playback the first 10 seconds of each track.
o Press the SCAN button again within 10 sec. when you have reached the desired track. 5. REPEAT Button
o To repeat the track you are currently listening
to, press the RPT button. To cancel , press again.
o If you do not release RPT operation when the track ends, it will automatically be replayed.This process will be continued until you pushthe button again.
6. EJECT Button When the EJECT button is pressed with a CD loaded, the CD will eject. NOTE:
o If the CD does not operate properly or if the ER2 fault code is displayed, use one oftwo methods to reset the CD deck func-tion.
- Remove the audio fuse for 5 minutes. Then, reinstall the audio fuse.
- Diconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wait 5 minutes. Then re-connect the negative battery terminal.
o To assure proper operation of the unit, keep the vehicle interior temperaturewithin a normal range by using thevehicle's air conditioning or heating sys-tem.
o When replacing the fuse, replace it with a fuse having the correct capacity.
o The preset station frequencies are allerased when the car battery is discon- nected. Therefore, all data will have to beset again if this should occur.
o Do not add any oil to the rotating parts. Keep magnets, screwdrivers and othermetallic objects away from the tape mecha-nism and head.
o This equipment is designed to be used only in a 12 volt DC battery system withnegative ground.
o This unit is made of precision parts. Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust anyparts.
o When driving your vehicle, be sure to keep the volume of the unit set low enough toallow you to hear sounds coming from theoutside.
o Do not expose this equipment (including the speakers) to water or excessive mois-ture.
CAUTION:Do not insert warped or poor quality discsinto the CD player as damage to the unit mayoccur.

3. Scan search Press and hold the right rotary control, until the prompt "SC" (5) appears on the display. Allfollowing CD tracks are played for 8 secondseach. Press the rotary control again to terminatethe search.
4. Fast forward /rewind Fast forward (audible) is activated by pressing the multifunction button (3) " " and fast rewind(audible) is activated by pressing the multifunc-tion button (2) " ". The relative time is displayedduring this function.
5. Relative time, number of tracks, to- tal playing time By pressing the multifunction button (1) "T", the relative time for the track currently being playedis displayed for approx.10seconds.

6. Random play The random play is activated by pressing the multifunction button (4) "RP". The tracks of thecurrent CD are then played in random order."RP" appears on the display. The random playfunction is terminated by repeated pressing ofthe multifunction button "RP".
7. Direct track selection The unit is switched to select mode by pressing the multifunction button "0" The digits 1-0 andTRACK _ _ are displayed. A track can be se-lected directly by using the multifunction buttons"1-0". The unit switches back to CD menu modeif no buttons are actuated for approx.8seconds.
8. Temperature protection circuit A temperature protection circuit is utilized in this unit in order to protect the laser diode againstover heating.When this protection circuit is activated, CDTEMP. appears for 8 seconds. The unit switchesback to the last selected signal source (FM / AM).The single CD operation can be requested againafter a short cooling phase. However, if thetemperature is still too high, the unit again switchesback to the previously selected signal source.

2- 8 C130A01A-AAT GOOD BRAKING PRACTICES WARNING: Nothing should be carried on top of the shelfpanel behind the rear seat. If there were anaccident or a sudden stop, such objects couldmove forward and cause damage to the ve-hicle or injure the occupants.
o After being parked, check to be sure the
parking brake is not engaged and that the parking brake indicator light is out beforedriving away.
o Driving through water may get the brakes wet. They can also get wet when the car iswashed. Wet brakes can be dangerous! Yourcar will not stop as quickly if the brakes arewet. Wet brakes cause the car to pull to one
side. To dry the brakes, apply the brakeslightly until the braking action returns to nor-mal, taking care to keep the car under controlat all times. If the braking action does notreturn to normal, stop as soon as it is safe todo so and call your Hyundai dealer for assis-tance.
o Don't coast down hills with the car out of gear. This is extremely hazardous. Keep the car ingear at all times, use the brakes to slow down,then shift to a lower gear so that enginebraking will help you maintain a safe speed.
o Don't "ride" the brake pedal. Resting your foot on the brake pedal while driving can be dan-gerous because it can result in the brakes
overheating and losing their effectiveness. It

o Shift into "R" and "P" position only when
the vehicle has completely stopped.
o Do not accelerate the engine in reverse or any of the forward positions with the brakes applied.
o Always apply the footbrake when shifting from "P" or "N", to "R", "D"position.
o Do not use the "P" (Park) position in place of the parking brake. Always set the park-ing brake, shift the transaxle into "P" (Park)position and turn off the ignition whenyou leave the vehicle, even momentarily.Never leave the vehicle unattended whilethe engine is running.
o Check the automatic transaxle fluid level regularly, and add fluid as necessary.

o Never move the gear selector lever from "P" or "N" to any other position with the acceler- ator pedal depressed.
o Never move the gear selector lever into "P" when the vehicle is in motion.
o Be sure the car is completely stopped before you attempt to shift into "R".
o Never take the car out of gear and coast down a hill. This may be extremely hazardous.Always leave the car in gear when moving.
o Do not "ride" the brakes. This can cause them to overheat and malfunction. Instead, whenyou are driving down a long hill, slow down and shift to a lower gear. When you do this,engine braking will help slow the car.
o Slow down before shifting to a lower gear. Otherwise, the lower gear may not be en-gaged.
o Always use the parking brake. Do not depend on placing the transaxle in "P" to keep the carfrom moving.
o Exercise extreme caution when driving on a slippery surface. Be especially careful whenbraking, accelerating or shifting gears. On aslippery surface, an abrupt change in vehiclespeed can cause the drive wheels to losetraction and the vehicle to go out of control.
WARNING:
o Avoid high cornering speeds.
o Do not make quick steering wheel move- ments, such as sharp lane changes orfast, sharp turns.
o Always wear your seat belts. In a collision crash, un unbelted person issignificantly more likely to die than a per-son wearing a seatbelt.
o The risk of rollover is greatly increased if you lose control of your vehicle at high-way speeds.
o Loss of control often occurs if two or more wheels drop off the roadway and the driveroversteers to reenter the roadway.
o In the event your vehicle leaves the road- way, do not steer sharply. Instead, slowdown before pulling back into the travellanes.
o Never exceed posted speed limits.
