For the air bags to be fully effective, observe the following safety precautions:
¥ Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
¥ Sit in a normal, upright position.
¥ Do not leave any accessories, objects or pets between the occupants and the air bags. This could hinder the operation of the air bags or injure the occupants.
¥ All work on the air bag system is strictly prohibited unless it is carried out by an approved PEUGEOT dealer.
¥ After an accident or if the vehicle has been stolen or broken into, have the air bag systems checked.
¥ The air bag systems have been designed to be fully operational for 10 years from the date of vehicle registration.
For added safety, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer within 10 years of purchase of the vehicle.
Front air bags ¥ Do not drive holding the steering wheel by its spokes or with your hands on the centre pad of the steering wheel.
¥ Never remove or pierce the steering wheel or hit it violently.
¥ Refrain from smoking as much as possible; deployment of the air bag can cause burns or the risk of injury from a cigarette or a pipe.
Side air bags ¥ Do not fasten or glue anything to the backs of the front seats; this could cause injury to the chest or arms when theside air bag inflates.
¥ Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nearer to the door than is necessary.
¥ Only put approved covers on the seats. Contact your PEUGEOT dealer.
Curtain air bags ¥ Do not fasten or glue anything to the door pillars or to the roof as this could cause head injuries when the curtain airbag inflates.

In the "OFF" position, the passenger
air bag will not be triggered in the event of an impact. As soon as the child seat is removed, turn the air bag slot to the"ON" position to re-activate the air
bag and thus ensure the safety ofyour passenger in the event of animpact. Operating check This is confirmed by an indicator light, accompanied by an audible sig-nal and a message on the multi-func-
tion display.
With the ignition on (2ndnotch), illumination of thiswarning light accompaniedby an audible signal and themessage "Passenger air
bag disarmed" on the multi-function
display, indicates that the passengerair bag is disarmed (switch in the"OFF" position). SIDE AIR BAGS AND
CURTAIN AIR BAGS The side air bags are incorporated into the frame of the front seat back,on the door side. The curtain air bags are incorporated into the door pillars and the upperpart of the passenger compartment. They are deployed independently of each other depending on which sidethe collision occurs. Operating check This is confirmed by a light on the instrument panel, accompanied byan audible signal and a message on
the multiÐfunction display.
If this indicator light comes on, accompanied by anaudible signal and the mes-sage 'Air bag(s) faulty' ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer
to have the system checked.
