Front ashtray
To op en the ashtray, p ull the lid out. Rear ashtray (if equipped)
The rear ashtray is loc ated on the up p er sid e of th e b ac k of the c enter
c onsole. To op en the ashtray, p ull the up p er ed g e o f the lid .
To remove the ashtray for c leaning , op en it and p ul l it out while p ushing
the inner p late d own.
Accessory power socket
In the luggage compartment (if equipped) and on the center
console (if equipped) CAUTION
Do not attempt to use a cigarette lighter in the accessory
power socket. Do not place any foreign objects, especially metal ones such
as coins or aluminum foil, into the accessory power socket. Thatcould cause a short circuit. Always put the cap on the accessorypower socket when they are not in use. Use only electrical appliances which are designed for 12V DC
and which consume less than 120W. Overloading the accessorypower socket can cause a short circuit. Do not use double adapt-ers or more than one electrical appliance. If the plug on your electric appliance is either too loose or too
tight for the accessory power socket, this can result in a poorcontact or cause the plug to get stuck. Only use plugs that fit
properly. Use of an electric appliance in the accessory power socket for
a long period of time while the engine is not running can causebattery discharge. Before driving your vehicle, make sure that the plug and the
cord on your electrical appliance will not interfere with your shift-ing gears and operating the accelerator and brake pedals. If theydo, do not use the electrical appliance while driving.

soc ket. Electrical power socket located on the lower part of the instru- ment panel
CAUTION
The electrical power socket located on the lower part of theinstrument panel is designed to use only a SUBARU genuine cig-arette lighter plug. Do not use non-genuine cigarette lighter plugsor any “plug-in” type electrical accessories in the socket. Doing
so may cause a short-circuit and overheating, resulting in a fire.Refer to the “Cigarette lighter ” section in this chapter.
Convenience hook Coat hook CAUTION
Never hang anything on the coat hook that might obstruct the
driver’ s view or that could cause injury in sudden stops or in a
collision. And do not hang items on the coat hook that weigh 2.2lb (1 kg) or more.

CAUTION
Make sure the driver ’s floor mat is placed back in its proper loca-
tion and correctly secured on its retaining pin. If the floor mat slips forward and interferes with the movement of the pedals dur-ing driving, it could cause an accident.

met, b y p lac ing the g rommet over the p in and p ushin g d ownward .
Luggage cover (if equipped)
WARNING
Do not place anything on the extended cover. Putting excessive weight on the extended cover can break it and an object on the
cover could tumble forward in the event of a sudden stop or colli-
sion. This could cause serious injury.

Using the cover

To extend the c over, p ull the end of the c over out of the housing , then
insert its hooks into the c atc hes as shown. To rewi nd it, unhook it from
the c atc hes and it will rewind automatic ally. You s hould hold on to the
c over and g uid e it b ac k into the c over housing whil e it is rewind ing .
To remove the cover

1. Rewind the c over.
2. To take it off the c over rails, lift it out while p ressing the release
knob s loc ated b oth sid es of the c over housing .
3. Store the c over in the c arg o area.
To install the c over:
Hang the b oth end s of the c over housing on the c ove r rails. Make
sure that the c over is mounted sec urely b y p ulling it up .

6-16Cargo anchorage eyelets (if equipped)
CAUTION
The cargo anchorage eyelets are designed only for securing light
cargo. Never try to secure cargo that exceeds the capacity of thehooks. The maximum load capacity is 44 lb (20 kg) per eyelet.

c an b e sec ured with a lug g ag e net or rop es.
When using the anc horag e eyelets, turn them d own ou t of the storing
rec esses. When not in use, p ut the eyelets up into the storing rec esses.
Storage tray (if equipped)
CAUTION
Always keep the lid of the storage tray closed while driving to
reduce the risk of injury in the event of sudden stop or an acci- dent. Do not store spray cans, containers with flammable or corro-
sive liquids or any other dangerous items in the storage tray.
