Overhead console
CAUTION
When your vehicle is in the sun or a warm day, the inside of the
overhead console heats up. Avoid storing plastic or other heat-
vulnerable or flammable articles such as a lighter in the overheadconsole.

Cup holder
CAUTION
When not in use, always keep the holder stored while driving
to reduce the risk of injury in the event of a sudden stop or an accident. Do not pick up a cup from the cup holder or put a cup in the
holder while you are driving, as this may distract you and lead toan accident. Take care to avoid spills. Beverages, if hot, might burn you or
your passengers. Spilled beverages may also damage upholstery,carpets or audio equipment.

sole. To use the c up hold er, op en the lid b y slid in g it forward and un-
fold the arm. Ad just the op ening area b y slid ing th e lid forward or
rearward to fit the c up . When not in use, fold the arm and c lose the
lid . NOTE On models equipped with a center console arm rest extension, the front passenger ’s cup holder must be eliminated to provide

Clock

The c loc k d isp lays the time when the ig nition switc h is in the “ACC ” or
“ ON ” p ositions.
Setting the clock
To set the hour, p ress the “H ” b utton. To set the minutes, p ress the “M ”
b utton. To reset the minutes to “00 ” with a rad io time sig nal, p ush the
“ S ” b utton.
Accessory power socket Electrical power socket located on the left-lower part of the instrument panel CAUTION
The electrical power socket located on the lower part of the instrument panel is designed to use only a SUBARU genuine cig-arette lighter plug. Do not use non-genuine cigarette lighter plugsor any “plug-in” type electrical accessories in the socket. Doing
so many cause a short-circuit and overheating, resulting in a fire.Refer to the “Cigarette lighter ” section in this chapter.

Accessory power socket in the luggage compartment and dual power socket (if equipped) CAUTION
Do not attempt to use a cigarette lighter in the accessory
socket or dual power socket. Do not place any foreign objects, especially metal ones such
as coins or aluminum foil, into the accessory socket or dualpower socket. That could cause a short circuit. Always put thecap on the accessory socket and dual power socket when it isnot in use. Use only electrical appliances which are designed for 12V DC
and which consume less than 120W. Overloading the accessory
socket or dual power socket can cause a short circuit. Do not usedouble adapters or more than one electrical appliance. If the plug on your electric appliance is either too loose or too
tight for the accessory socket or dual power socket, this canresult in a poor contact or cause the plug to get stuck. Only use
plugs that fit properly. Use of an electric appliance in the accessory socket or dual
power socket for a long period of time while the engine is notrunning can cause battery discharge. Before driving your vehicle, make sure that the plug and the
cord on your electrical appliance will not interfere with your shift-ing gears and operating the accelerator and brake pedals. If theydo, do not use the electrical appliance while driving.
