ôFit the brake hose into the guide on
the protector.
çFasten the ignition coil lead (in the
sub wire harness) on the upper
inside of the frame and cut off the tie
end.
óPass the ignition coil lead (in the sub
wire harness) under the cushion
bracket (frame).
Fasten the ignition coil lead (in the
sub wire harness) to the frame with
a plastic locking tie.
Pass the carburetor breather hoses
and overflow hose so that all there
hoses do not contact the rear
shock absorber.

‚Pass the ignition coil lead (in the
sub wire harness) so that it does
not contact the carburetor and
rear shock absorber and connect
it with the lead from the ignition
coil on the inside of the frame.
ëPass the throttle cables over the
high tension cord.
äPass the throttle cables along the
outer side of the CDI unit leads.
ìFasten the CDI unit leads to the
frame with a plastic locking tie.
íPass the throttle cables between
the top radiator mounting boss
and middle radiator mounting
boss.îPass the CDI unit leads over the
top radiator mounting boss.
éCross the pull and return throttle
cables before the radiator.
ïPass the throttle cables through
cable guide on the frame.
ðPass the radiator breather hose
between the frame and the radia-
tor without pinching it.

behind the decompression cable.

COOLANT LEVEL INSPECTION
WARNING

Do not remove the radiator cap

bolt and hoses when the engine and radia-
tor are hot. Scalding hot fluid and steam
may be blown out under pressure, which
could cause serious injury.
When the engine has cooled, place a thick
towel over the radiator cap, slowly rotate
the cap counterclockwise to the detent.
This procedure allows any residual pres-
sure to escape. When the hissing sound
has stopped, press down on the cap while
turning counterclockwise and remove it.
CAUTION:

Hard water or salt water is harmful to the
engine parts. You may use distilled water, if
you can’t get soft water.
1. Place the machine on a level place, and
hold it in an upright position.

Funktion des Kupplungshebels prüfen. Arbeitsschritte
lSicherungsmutter 1 lockern.
lEinstellschraube 2 verdrehen, bis das
vorgeschriebene Spiel a erreicht ist
lSicherungsmutter festziehen.
N.B.:
lNe pas appliquer de pression supérieure à la pres-
sion spécifiée.
lLe radiateur doit être entièrement rempli.
4. Vérifier:

Impossible de maintenir la pression spéci-
fiée pendant 10 secondes ® Réparer.

ment du levier d’embrayage. Etapes de réglage du jeu du levier

lDesserrer le contre-écrou 1.
lTourner le dispositif de réglage 2 jusqu’à ce
que le jeu a soit compris dans les limites spé-
cifiées.
lSerrer le contre-écrou.

Throttle grip free play adjustment steps:
lRemove the throttle cable cover 1.
Turning in Free play is increased.
Turning outFree play is
decreased.
lTighten the locknuts.
NOTE:
lBefore adjusting the throttle cable free
play, the engine idle speed should be
adjusted.
lWhen the motorcycle is accelerating,
throttle cable #1 2 is pulled and throttle
cable #2 3 is pushed.
1st step:
lLoosen the locknut 4 on throttle cable #2.
lTurn the adjuster 5 in or out to take up
any slack on throttle cable #2.
2nd step:
lLoosen the locknut 6 on throttle cable #1.
lTurn the adjuster 7 in or out until the
specified free play is obtained.
WARNING
After adjusting, turn the handlebar to
right and left and make sure that the
engine idling does not run faster.
lInstall the throttle cable cover.

DECOMPRESSION LEVER ADJUSTMENT
1. Check:
lDecompression lever free play
2. Adjust:
lDecompression lever free play Checking steps:
lRemove the timing plug.
lTurn the crankshaft counterclockwise to
align the T.D.C. mark a on the rotor with
the align mark b on the crankcase cover
when piston is at T.D.C. on compression
stroke.
lCheck the free play c.
Free play:
5 ~ 9 mm (0.20 ~ 0.35 in)
Adjustment steps:
lLoosen the locknut 1.
lTurn the adjuster 2 in or out until the
adjustment is suitable.
lTighten the locknut.
CAUTION:
After the adjustment, start the engine
and make sure that the engine does not
stop when the handlebars are turned
fully both ways. If the decompression
cable is too tense, the engine will stop
by the decompression system.

montieren.
lDie Kurbelwelle gegen den Uhrzeigersinn
drehen, bis sich der Kolben des Zylinders im
oberen Totpunkt (OT) befindet und die Mar-
kierung a des Rotors mit der Kurbelgehäu-
se-Markierung b fluchtet.
lDas Spiel c kontrollieren.

Arbeitsschritte
lDie Sicherungsmutter 1 lockern.
lDie Einstellmutter 2 verdrehen, bis das
vorgeschriebene Spiel erreicht ist.
lDie Sicherungsmutter festziehen.
ACHTUNG:
Nach der Einstellung den Lenker bei lau-
fendem Motor beidseitig bis zum Anschlag
drehen. Dabei darf der Motor nicht abster-
ben. Der Motor stirbt ab, wenn der Dekom-
pressionszug zuviel Spiel aufweist. GRAISSAGE DE L’ACCELERATEUR

REGLAGE DU LEVIER DE
DECOMPRESSION
1. Contrôler:
lJeu au levier de décompression

lRetirer le bouchon de distribution.
lTourner le vilebrequin dans le sens inverse des
aiguilles d’une montre pour aligner le repère
de PMH a du rotor et le repère d’alignement
b sur le couvercle du carter lorsque le piston
est au PMH de la course de compression.
lContrôler le jeu c.
Jeu:
5 à 9 mm (0,20 à 0,35 in)
Etapes du réglage:
lDesserrer le contre-écrou 1.
lSerrer ou desserrer le dispositif de réglage 2
jusqu’à obtention du jeu spécifié.
lSerrer le contre-écrou.
ATTENTION:
Une fois le réglage effectué, mettre le moteur
en marche et s’assurer qu’il ne se coupe pas
quand le guidon est tourné de butée à butée.
Si le câble de décompression est trop tendu,
le système de décompression va couper le
moteur.
