2. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID
(a) Disconnect the solenoid connector.
(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the
terminals.
Standard resistance: 26 − 33 Ω
If resistance value is not as specified, replace the solenoid.
(c) Apply battery positive voltage between the terminals.
Check that the solenoid can be heard operating.
If solenoid operation is not as specified, replace the solenoid.

NOTICE:
When cleaning the glass, use a soft, dry cloth, and
wipe the glass in the direction of the wire. Take care
not to damage the wires.
Do not use detergents or glass cleaners with abrasive
ingredients.
When measuring voltage, wind a piece of tin foil
around the top of the negative probe and press the foil
against the wire with your finger, as shown.
(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(b) Turn the defogger switch ON.
(c) Inspect the voltage at the center of each heat wire, as
shown in the table below.
VoltageCriteria
Approx. 5VOkay (No break in wire)
Approx. 10V or 0VBroken wire
HINT:
If there is approximately 10 V, the wire is broken between the
center of the wire and the positive (+) end. If there is no voltage,
the wire is broken between the center of the wire and ground.

the negative (−) lead to terminal 1 check that all the illuminations
light up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the master switch.
5. 3 Door models:
INSPECT ONE TOUCH POWER WINDOW SYSTEM
(a) Using an ammeter, inspect the system.
(1) Disconnect the connector from the master switch.
(2) Connect the positive (+) lead from the ammeter to
terminal 3 on the wire harness side connector and
the negative (−) lead to the negative (−) terminal of
the battery.
(3) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to ter-
minal 4 on the wire harness side connector.
(4) As the window goes down, check that the current
flow is approximately 7 amperes.
(5) Check that the current increases up to approxi-
mately 14.5 amperes or more when the window
stops going down.
HINT:
The circuit breaker opens some 4 − 40 seconds after the win-
dow stops going down, so that check must be made before the
circuit breaker operates.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the master switch.
(b) Using an ammeter with a current measurement probe, in-
spect the system.
(1) Remove the master switch with connector con-
nected.
(2) Attach a current−measuring probe to terminal 3 of
the wire harness.
(3) Turn the ignition switch ON and set the power win-
dow switch in the down position.
