The ECU back− up power source provides power even when the ignition is off and is used for DTC memory,
etc..
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Check ECU −IG fuse.
PREPARATION:
Remove the ECU −IG fuse from relay block No.2.
CHECK:
Check continuity of ECU −IG fuse.
OK:
Continuity
NG Check for short in all the harness and compo- nents connected to the ECU −IG fuse.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the cruise control main switch is turned off, the cruise control does not operate.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Check voltage between terminal CMS of cruise control ECU connector and body
ground.
PREPARATION:
(a) Remove the ECU with connector still connected.
(b) Turn ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminal CMS of cruise control ECU
connector when main switch is held on and off.
OK:
Main switchVoltage
OFF10 − 14 V
ONBelow 2 V
OK Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on
problem symptoms table (See page DI−295 ).

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This circuit sends a signal to the ECU that DTC output is required.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Check voltage between terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1.
PREPARATION:
Turn ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1.
OK:
Voltage: 10 − 14 V
OK Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See page DI−295 ).

(1) Terminal Twin −Lock Mechanism
Each connector has a two −piece construction con-
sisting of a housing and a spacer. This design se-
cures the locking of the terminal by two locking de-
vices (the retainer and the lance) to prevent
terminals from coming out.
(2) Airbag Activation Prevention Mechanism
Each conn ector contains a short spr ing plate. When
the connector is disconnected, the short spring
plate automatically connects the power source and
grounding terminals of the squib.

The type of connector shown above is used for connectors 2,
3 and 4 in the diagram on the preceding page.
