1 Pressing the cancel switch
cancels the speed control.
The speed control is also canceled
when the brake pedal is depressed.
(When the vehicle has been
stopped by system control,
depressing the brake pedal does
not cancel the setting.)
2Pressing the “+RES” switch
resumes the cruise control
and returns vehicle speed to
the set speed.
When your vehicle is too close
to a vehicle ahead, and suffi-
cient automatic deceleration via
the cruise control is not possi-
ble, the display will flash and the
buzzer will sound to alert the
driver. An example of this would
be if another driver cuts in front
of you while you are following a
vehicle. Depress the brake
pedal to ensure an appropriate
vehicle-to-vehicle distance.

Driving
■Warnings may not occur
when
In the following instances, warn-
ings may not occur even when
the vehicle-to-vehicle distance is
small.
When the speed of the pre-
ceding vehicle matches or
exceeds your vehicle speed
When the preceding vehicle is
traveling at an extremely slow
speed
Immediately after the cruise
control speed was set
When depressing the acceler-
ator pedal
While driving in vehicle-to-vehi-
cle distance control mode, this
function will reduce the vehicle
speed, if it is determined to be
necessary.
■Function operation
When the steering wheel begins
to be turned, the vehicle speed
will begin being reduced. When
the steering wheel is returned to
the center position, the vehicle
speed reduction will end.
Depending on the situation, the
vehicle speed will then return to
the vehicle-to-vehicle distance
control mode set speed.
In situations where vehicle-to- vehicle distance control needs
to operate, such as when a pre-
ceding vehicle cuts in front of
your vehicle, the curve speed
reduction function will be can-
celed.
■Operation display

■Changing the settings of
the curve speed reduction
function
The curve speed reduction func-
tion can be enabled/disabled
and the vehicle speed reduction
strength can be adjusted on the screen ( P.106) of the
multi-information display.

2744-5. Using the driving support systems
the meter control switch is
pressed.
When constant speed control
mode is selected, your vehicle
will maintain a set speed without
controlling the vehicle-to-vehi-
cle distance. Select this mode
only when vehicle-to-vehicle dis-
tance control mode does not
function correctly due to a dirty
radar, etc.
1With the cruise control off,
press and hold the cruise
control main switch for 1.5
seconds or more.
Immediately after the switch is
pressed, the dynamic radar cruise
control indicator will come on. After-
wards, it switches to the cruise con-
trol indicator.
Switching to constant speed control
mode is only possible when operat-
ing the switch wit h the cruise con-
trol off.
2 Accelerate or decelerate,
with accelerator pedal opera-
tion, to the desired vehicle
speed (at or above approxi-
mately 20 mph [30 km/h]) and press the “-SET” switch
to set the speed.
Cruise control “SET” indicator will
come on.
The vehicle speed at the moment
the switch is released becomes the
set speed.

■Dynamic radar cruise control
with full-speed range can be set
when
●The shift lever is in D.
●The desired set speed can be set
when the vehicle speed is approx-
imately 20 mph (30 km/h) or more.
(However, when the vehicle speed
is set while driving at below
approximately 20 mph [30 km/h],
the set speed w ill be set to
approximately 20 mph [30 km/h].)
■Accelerating after setting the
vehicle speed
The vehicle can a ccelerate by oper-
ating the accelera tor pedal. After
accelerating, the set speed
resumes. However, during vehicle-
to-vehicle distance control mode,
the vehicle speed may decrease
below the set speed in order to
maintain the distance to the preced-
ing vehicle.

■Warning messages
The warning messages explained
below may differ from the actual
messages according to operation
conditions and vehicle specifica-
tions.

is shown
●If a message about an operation
of the accele rator pedal or brake
pedal is shown
A warning message about an opera-
tion of the brake pedal may be shown while the driving assist sys-
tems such as PCS (Pre-Collision
system) or the dynamic radar cruise
control with full-speed range is oper-
ating. If a warning message is
shown, be sure to decelerate the
vehicle or follo
w an instruction
shown on the multi-information dis-
play.
• A warning message is shown when Brake Override System
operates. ( P.189, 454)
• A warning message is shown when Drive-Start C ontrol or Park-
ing Support Brake ( P.194, 295)
operates. Follow the instructions
on the multi-information display.
●If a message about an operation
of the power switch is shown
An instruction for operation of the
power switch is shown when the
incorrect procedure for starting the
hybrid system is performed or the
power switch is operated incorrectly.
Follow the instructions shown on the
multi-information di splay to operate
the power switch again.
●If a message about a shift lever
operation is shown
To prevent the shift lever from being
operated incorrectl y or the vehicle
from moving unexpectedly, a mes-
sage that requires shifting the shift
lever may be shown on the multi-
information display . In that case, fol-
low the instructio n of the message
and shift the shift lever.
●If a message or image about an
open/close state of a part or
replenishment of a consumable is
shown
Confirm the part indicated by the
multi-information display or a warn-
ing light, and then perform the cop-
ing method such as closing the
open door or replenishing a con-
If a warning message
is displayed
The multi-information dis-
play shows warnings of sys-
tem malfunctions,
incorrectly performed oper-
ations, and messages that
indicate a need for mainte-
nance. When a message is
shown, perform the correc-
tion procedure appropriate
to the message.
If a warning message is dis-
played again after the appro-
priate actions have been
performed, contact your
Toyota dealer.

are being depressed simultane-
ously. ( P.189)
Release the accelerator pedal and
depress the brake pedal.
■If a message that indicates the
malfunction of front camera is
displayed
The following sys tems may be sus-
pended until the pr oblem shown in
the message is resolved. ( P.237,
441)
●PCS (Pre-Collis ion System)

4627-2. Steps to take in an emergency
1Replace a rear tire with the com-
pact spare tire.
2 Replace the flat front tire with the
tire removed from the rear of the
vehicle.
3 Fit tire chains to the front tires.
WARNING
■When using the compact
spare tire
●Remember that the compact
spare tire provided is specifi-
cally designed for use with your
vehicle. Do not use your com-
pact spare tire on another vehi-
cle.
●Do not use more than one com-
pact spare tire simultaneously.
●Replace the compact spare tire
with a standard tire as soon as
possible.
●Avoid sudden acceleration,
abrupt steering, sudden brak-
ing and shifting operations that
cause sudden engine braking.
■When the compact spare tire
is attached
The vehicle speed may not be
correctly detecte d, and the follow-
ing systems may not operate cor-
rectly:
• ABS & Brake assist
• VSC
• TRAC
• Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range
• PCS (Pre-Collision System)
• EPS
• LTA (Lane Tracing Assist)
• Tire pressure warning system
• AHB (Automatic High Beam)
• BSM
• RCTA
• Panoramic view monitor (if equipped)
• Toyota parking assist monitor (if equipped)
• Intuitive parking assist (if equipped)
• PKSB (if equipped)
• Navigation system (if equipped)
Also, not only c an the following
systems not be ut ilized fully, but
they may actually negatively
affect the drive-train components:
• E-Four (Electronic On-Demand AWD system)
■Speed limit when using the
compact spare tire
Do not drive at speeds in excess
of 50 mph (80 km /h) when a com-
pact spare tire is installed on the
vehicle.
The compact spare tire is not
designed for driving at high
speeds. Failure to observe this
precaution may lead to an acci-
dent causing death or serious
injury.
■After using the tools and jack
Before driving, ma ke sure all the
tools and jack are securely in
place in their storage location to
reduce the possibility of personal
injury during a collision or sudden
braking.
