qExtending/retracting the cargo compartment
cover
ExtendingPull the cargo compartment cover back by grab handle 1 and hook it into brackets 2
on the le"s and right.RetractingRemove the cargo compartment cover from
the brackets on the le"s and right.Guide the cargo compartment cover forwards
using grab handle 1 until it is fully retracted.
The rolled-up cargo compartment cover can be
used in two positions:
= Folded 45° upwards for loading (fold down
before commencing your journey)
= Horizontal position

Requirements
= The cargo compartment cover is rolled up.
Removing the cargo compartment coverPress end cap 1 on the le"s or right inwards.Pull out the cargo compartment cover back-
wards.
Stowing the cargo compartment cover
Depending on the vehicle variant, the cargo com-
partment cover can be stowed under the cargo "Ooor.

Open the cargo "Ooor .To insert: place the cargo compartment cover
in brackets 1, "Nrst on the le"s and then the
right. Comply with the instructions on the
vehicle to ensure it is seated correctly.To remove: push the cargo compartment
cover slightly to the le"s using grab handle 2.Remove the cargo compartment cover from
brackets 1, "Nrst on the right and then on the
le"s.Installing the cargo compartment coverInsert the cargo compartment cover in brack-
ets 1 on the le"s and right.
The end caps of the cargo compartment cover
will engage audibly.
q Installing/removing the partitioning net cas-
sette
Requirements: = The partitioning net has been rolled up.

Remove the partitioning net cassette by li"sing
it upwards.
Installing
With tab 1 facing backwards, push the parti-
tioning net cassette into brackets 2.
The partitioning net cassette will engage.Ensure that red lock veri"Ncation indicators 3
on the le"s and right are no longer visible. Oth-
erwise, the partitioning net cassette will not
be locked.
q Attaching the partitioning net&WARNING Risk of injury or death due to
poorly secured objects
The partitioning net alone cannot secure or
restrain heavy objects, items of luggage or
heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, partic- ularly in the event of abrupt changes in direc-
tion, sudden braking or an accident.
Always stow objects in such a way that
they cannot be thrown around.Secure objects, luggage or loads against
slipping or tipping over, e.g. by using tie
downs, even if you are using the parti-
tioning net.For safety reasons, always use a partitioning net
when transporting a load.
Damaged partitioning nets can no longer ful"Nl
their protective functions and must be replaced.

&WARNING Risk of injury when using bag
hooks with heavy objects
The bag hooks cannot restrain heavy objects
or items of luggage.
Objects or items of luggage may be "Oung
around and hit vehicle occupants.Only hang light objects on the bag hooks.Never hang hard, sharp-edged or fragile
objects on the bag hooks.
Observe the notes on loading the vehicle
(  page 119).
Subject the bag hooks to a maximum load of 6.6 lbs (3 kg) and do not attach any goods to them.

Coat hooks are not suitable for heavy objects.
Use the coat hooks only for light objects such as
jackets.
EASY-PACK load-securing kit

q Notes on the snap-in module for the cargo
compartment (telescopic rods)
The EASY-PACK load-securing kit allows you to
use your cargo compartment for a variety of pur-
poses. The components are located in the stow-
age space under the cargo "Ooor.

If you drive with the cargo compartment "Ooor
open, objects could be "Oung around and hit
vehicle occupants as a result. There is a risk
of injury, particularly in the event of sudden
braking or a sudden change in direction.
Always close the cargo compartment "Ooor before a journey.Seats and stowing131

Open the cargo "Ooor .Attach holders 1 in the desired position to
the side of the cargo "Ooor.Close the cargo "Ooor.Turn the mounting elements 2 to n .Insert the mounting elements 2 into the
holders 1.Extend the telescopic rod 3.Insert the telescopic rod 3 into the mounting
elements 2.Turn both mounting elements 2 to 7 until
you feel them engage.Locking and unlocking the cargo compartment
"OoorTurn the emergency key a quarter turn clock- wise H (to lock) or counter-clockwise G (to

Attaching a roof luggage rack&WARNING Risk of accident due to exceed-
ing the maximum roof load
The vehicle center of gravity and the usual
driving characteristics as well as the steering
and braking characteristics alter.
If you exceed the maximum roof load, the driv-
ing characteristics, as well as steering and braking, will be greatly impaired.
Never exceed the maximum roof load
and adjust your driving style.You will "Nnd information on the maximum roof
load in the "Technical data" section.*NOTE Damage to the vehicle due to not
observing the maximum permitted head-
room clearance
If the vehicle height is greater than the maxi- mum permitted headroom clearance, the roof
and other parts of the vehicle may be dam-
aged.
Observe the signposted headroom clear- ance.If the vehicle height is greater than the permitted headroom clearance, do not
enter.Observe the changed vehicle height with add-on roof equipment.*NOTE Vehicle damage from non-approved
roof luggage racks
The vehicle could be damaged by roof luggage
racks that have not been tested and approved
for Mercedes-Benz.
Use only roof luggage racks tested and
approved for Mercedes-Benz.Depending on the vehicle equipment,
ensure that the sliding sunroof can be
fully raised when the roof luggage rack is
installed.Depending on the vehicle equipment,
ensure that the tailgate can be fullyopened when the roof luggage rack is
installed.Position the load on the roof luggage
rack in such a way that the vehicle will
not sustain damage even when it is in
motion.*NOTE Damage to the panorama roof with
power tilt/sliding panel due to non-
approved roof luggage racks
The panorama roof with power tilt/sliding
panel may be damaged by the roof luggage rack if you attempt to open it when using a
roof luggage rack not tested and approved for
Mercedes-Benz.
When a roof luggage rack is installed,
open the panorama roof with power tilt/
sliding panel only if this has been tested
and approved for Mercedes-Benz.
The panorama roof with power tilt/sliding
panel may be raised to allow ventilation of the
vehicle interior.

Secure the roof rack to the roof railing.Observe the manufacturer\bs installation
instructions.
Cup holder
Switching the cooling or heating function for the temperature-controlled cup holder on or o"M
&WARNING Risk of injury by touching the
heating elements
The cup holder\bs heating elements may be
very hot.
You can burn yourself on them.
Do not touch the cup holder\bs hot heat-
ing elements.Ensure that no children can access the
cup holder\bs hot heating elements.Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.*NOTE Damage to objects in the tempera-
ture-controlled cup holder
If you place objects into the temperature-con-
trolled cup holder, they may become dam-
aged.
Do not place objects into the tempera-
ture-controlled cup holder.
Cup holder in the front center console
To switch on: on cup holder 1, press button
2 repeatedly until the blue (keep cool) or red
(keep warm) indicator lamp on the button lights up.
If you use the heating function, the metal
insert of the cup holder will be heated. Once a
certain temperature has been reached, the
