HEADLAMPS – TROUBLESHOOTING
HEADLAMPS – FREQUENTLY ASKEDQUESTIONS
Why is there condensation in the
headlamps?
•Headlamps have vents to accommodatenormal changes in air pressure.Condensation can be a naturalby-product of this design. When moist airenters the lamp assembly through thevents, there is a possibility thatcondensation can occur when thetemperature is cold. When normalcondensation occurs, a fine mist can formon the interior of the lens. The fine misteventually clears and exits through thevents during normal operation.
How much condensation is acceptable?
•The presence of a fine mist, for exampleno streaks, drip marks or large droplets.A fine mist covers less than 50% of thelens.
How long may it take for theacceptable condensation to becleared?
•Clearing time may take as long as 48hours under dry weather conditions.
How much condensation isunacceptable?
•A water puddle inside the lamp. Streaks, drip marks or large droplets present onthe interior of the lens.
What should I do if unacceptablecondensation is present?
•Have your vehicle checked as soon aspossible.
Why do my headlamps turn off when Ihave them switched on when I switchmy vehicle off?
•The battery saver turns the headlampsoff after a short period of time after youswitch your vehicle off.
AUTOLAMPS
WHAT ARE AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You may needto override the system if it does not turnthe headlamps on in low visibilityconditions, for example daytime fog.
Autolamps turn the headlamps on in low lightsituations or when the windshield wipersoperate.

1.Using the instrument cluster controls onthe steering wheel, select Settings.
2.Select Vehicle.
3.Select Lighting.
4.Select Autolamp Delay.
5.Select a setting and press the OK button.

WARNING: Do not use the system inpoor visibility, for example fog, heavy rain, spray or snow.
WARNING: You may need tooverride the system when approachingother road users.
WARNING: You may need tooverride the system during inclementweather.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM CONTROLREQUIREMENTS
The system turns the high beams on if all ofthe following occur:
•You switch the system on.
•You set the lighting control to theautolamps position.
•The ambient light level is low enough thatyou require high beams.
•There is no traffic in front of your vehicle.
•The vehicle speed is greater thanapproximately 25 mph (40 km/h).

Note:If the system does not detect validlane line markings, the system will remain instandby until valid line markings areavailables.
LANE CENTERING LIMITATIONS
Adaptive cruise control limitations apply tolane centering unless stated otherwise orcontradicted by a lane centering limitation.See Adaptive Cruise Control Limitations(page 311).
Lane centering may not correctly operate inany of the following conditions:
•The lane width is too narrow or wide.
•The curve in the road is too small.
•The system does not detect the minimumrequired lane markings or when lanesmerge or split.
•When the required steering effort tomaintain lane center exceeds the lanecentering system limit.
•When driving in areas that are underconstruction or when road work is inprogress.
•If the front windshield camera and/or thefront radar are blocked.
•When using a spare tire.
•Inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, high wind, heavy rain, and fog.
•Driving into direct sunlight.
•When modification to the steering systemhas been made, including alterations tothe steering wheel.
•When towing a trailer.
See Lane Centering Precautions (page 319).
Note:The system steering assistance islimited and may not have sufficient effort forall driving situations and/or conditions, suchas driving through tight curves or drivingthrough curves at high speeds.
Note:In exceptional conditions, the systemmay deviate from the lane center.
SWITCHING LANE CENTERING ONAND OFF
You must keep your hands on the steeringwheel at all times.
The controls are on the steering wheel.
Press the button.
The indicator appears in the instrumentcluster. When the lane centering system ison, the color of the indicator changes toindicate the system status.
You can override the system at any time bysteering your vehicle.
Note:The lane centering requirements mustbe met before you can enable the feature.See Lane Centering Requirements (page319).

WARNING: The system does notactivate the turn signal.
Adaptive cruise control precautions apply topredictive speed assist unless statedotherwise or contradicted by a predictivespeed assist precaution. See AdaptiveCruise Control Precautions (page 310).
The system only applies limited braking. Youcan override the system with the acceleratorpedal or cancel the system by applying thebrakes.
The system may adapt to various factorssuch as time of day, lane width. This couldinfluence speed adjustments andaccelerations.
The system may adapt to various drivemodes. See Drive Mode Control (page 338).This could influence speed adjustments andaccelerations.
Note:The system does not activate the turnsignal automatically.
PREDICTIVE SPEED ASSISTLIMITATIONS
WARNING: The system may notalways adjust vehicle speed in certain roador weather conditions such as crossingtraffic, yield or stop signs, right of way, traffic lights, speed bumps, rain, snow, fog.You must always apply the brake oraccelerator pedal when necessary.
The road geometry and speed limitinformation provided by the navigation mapdata could be inaccurate or out of date.
The system may not detect and read speedlimit signs with conditional information, forexample, when a sign is flashing, duringspecific time ranges, or when children arepresent.
Note:The system does not set the vehiclespeed to speed limits shown with asupplementary traffic sign.
Under certain conditions, the system maynot adjust the vehicle speed until after yourvehicle passes the speed limit.
Detection of road geometry operates onlywhere related information is available. Roadgeometry information may not be availablein some areas.

These situations include but arenot limited to direct or low sunlight, vehicles at night without tail lights, unconventional vehicle types, andpedestrians and cyclists with complex, partially obscured backgrounds. Failure totake care may result in the loss of controlof your vehicle, personal injury or death.
PRE-COLLISION ASSIST
LIMITATIONS
Pre-collision assist depends on the detectionability of its camera and sensors. Anyobstructions or damage to these areas canlimit detection or prevent the system fromfunctioning. See Locating the Pre-CollisionAssist Sensors (page 365).
The system is active at 3 mph (5 km/h) andabove.
Note:The pre-collision assist systemautomatically disables when you selectfour-wheel drive low or manually disableAdvanceTrac™.
Note:Brake support and automaticemergency braking are active at speeds upto 80 mph (130 km/h). If your vehicle has aradar sensor included with adaptive cruisecontrol, then brake support and automaticemergency braking are active up to themaximum speed of your vehicle.
