WARNING: Use caution whenstowing items or hot drinks in the cupholders. Items could become loose orspill during hard braking, acceleration orcrashes. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury.

To open the center console push thebutton and lift up.

Lift the latch to access the storagecompartment under the center seatcushion.

Locking the Front Under SeatStorage
Lift the front seat to access the front underseat storage compartment.
1.Use the key in the remote control tounlock.
2.Press the latch to release the cushion.
3.Lift the cushion to access the storagecompartment.
Rear Under Seat Storage
Lift the rear seat to access the under seatstorage bin.
Locking the Rear Under SeatStorage
1.Lift the rear seat to access the underseat storage bin.

2.Lift the front panel to expand thestorage bin.
3.Lock the front and side panels in anopen position.
4.To collapse, unlatch the side panelsand storage divider, push down to thestowed position and fold in the sideand front panels.
Note:Make sure the storage divider is notlocked into place when collapsing. Unlatchthe sliding latch to release the storagedivider and swing to the stowed positionagainst the front panel.
The locking key is in the remote control.Turn the key to lock or unlock the cushion.

STARTING AND STOPPING
THE ENGINE – PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Extended idling at highengine speeds can produce very hightemperatures in the engine and exhaustsystem, creating the risk of fire or otherdamage.
WARNING: Do not park, idle ordrive your vehicle on dry grass or otherdry ground cover. The emission systemheats up the engine compartment andexhaust system, creating the risk of fire.
WARNING: Do not start the enginein a closed garage or in other enclosedareas. Exhaust fumes are toxic. Alwaysopen the garage door before you startthe engine. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
WARNING: Do not use startingfluid, for example ether, in the air intakesystem. Such fluid could causeimmediate explosive damage to theengine and possible personal injury.
WARNING: Exhaust leaks mayresult in entry of harmful and potentiallylethal fumes into the passengercompartment. If you smell exhaustfumes inside your vehicle, have yourvehicle inspected immediately. Do notdrive if you smell exhaust fumes.
The powertrain control system meets allCanadian interference-causing equipmentstandard requirements regulating theimpulse electrical field or radio noise.
Note:If you use your vehicle regularly abovethe altitude of 5,000 ft (1,524 m) and underthe temperature of -4.0°F (-20°C), it isrecommended to use the alternative engineoil. See Capacities and Specifications(page 520).
If you stop your vehicle and leave theengine idling for long periods, werecommend that you do one of thefollowing:
•Open the windows at least 1 in(2.5 cm).
•Set your climate control to outside air.

Turn the key to position 0.
Switching the Ignition toAccessory Mode
Turn the key to position I. Electricalaccessories, for example the radio, operatewithout the engine running.

Switching the Ignition On
Turn the key to position II. All electricalcircuits and accessories are operationaland the warning lamps and indicatorsilluminate.

Switching the Ignition Off
When the ignition is on or in accessorymode, press the push button ignitionswitch once without your foot on the brakepedal.
Switching the Ignition toAccessory Mode
When the ignition is off, press the pushbutton ignition switch once without yourfoot on the brake pedal.
All electrical circuits and accessories areoperational and the warning lamps andindicators illuminate.
Note:Your vehicle has a battery saverfeature that shuts your vehicle off when itdetects a certain amount of battery drain,or after approximately 30 minutes ofinactivity in accessory mode.
Note:The system may not function if theremote control is close to metal objects orelectronic devices, for example keys or a cellphone.
Note:You need a valid key inside yourvehicle to switch the ignition on and startthe engine.

Before starting your vehicle, check thefollowing:
•Make sure that the headlamps andelectrical accessories are off.
•Make sure that the parking brake is on.
•Make sure that the transmission is inpark (P).
1.Fully press the brake pedal.
Note:Do not touch the accelerator pedal.
2.Turn the key to position III.
Note:The engine may continue crankingfor up to 15 seconds or until it starts.
Note:The engine takes longer to start atlower temperatures. It may crank for severalseconds when very cold.

Note:Wait until the glow plug indicatorturns off.
2.Fully press the brake pedal.
Note:Do not touch the accelerator pedal.
3.Turn the key to position III.
Note:The engine may continue crankingfor up to 15 seconds or until it starts.
Note:The engine takes longer to start atlower temperatures. It may crank for severalseconds when very cold.
Glow Plug Indicator
If it illuminates, wait until theglow plug indicator turns offbefore starting the engine.

•Make sure that the parking brake is on.

The engine does not start untilthe glow plug indicator turns off.This may take several secondsin extremely cold conditions.
