Flashing the Headlamp High Beam
Slightly pull the lever toward you andrelease it to flash the headlamps.
AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You mayneed to override the system if it does notturn the headlamps on in low visibilityconditions, for example daytime fog.
When the lighting control is in theautolamps position, the headlamps turnon in low light situations, or when thewipers turn on.
The headlamps remain on for a period oftime after you switch the ignition off. Usethe information display controls to adjustthe period of time that the headlampsremain on.
Note: If you switch the autolamps on, youcannot switch the high beams on until thesystem turns the low beams on.
Windshield Wiper ActivatedHeadlamps
When you switch the autolamps on, theheadlamps turn on within 10 seconds ofswitching the wipers on. They turn offapproximately 60 seconds after you switchthe windshield wipers off.
The headlamps do not turn on with thewipers:
•During a single wipe.
•When using the windshield washers.
•If the wipers are in intermittent mode.
Note:If you switch the autolamps and theautowipers on, the headlamps turn on whenthe windshield wipers continuously operate.
INSTRUMENT LIGHTING
DIMMER
Note:When disconnecting the battery orwhen it runs out of charge, the illuminatedcomponents turn to the maximum setting.

Note: In vehicles without global openingand closing, you cannot operate the rearwindows from driver side when you pressthe safety switch. In certain vehicles, youcannot operate front passenger windowsas well.
Press the control to lock or unlock the rearwindow controls.
Resetting the Memory of theElectric Windows - Vehicle withOne Touch Up/Down on DriverSide only
Note:The bounce back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.
In the event of a flat battery or after thebattery is disconnected from the vehicle,you must reset the memory for the driverwindow.
1.Open the window and then try to closeit using the one-touch feature.
2.Lift and hold the switch to the secondaction point until you fully close thewindow.
3.Lift and hold the switch for more thantwo seconds and release.
4.Open the window using the first actionpoint and try to close it automaticallyusing the second action point.
5.If the window does not open or closeautomatically when you press theswitch or lift it to the second actionpoint, repeat the procedure.
Safety Mode
Note:The anti-trap function is not activeduring this procedure.
If the system detects a malfunction, itenters a safety mode. The windows movea little at a time and then stop again. Closethe windows by pressing the switch againwhen the windows stop moving.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Bounce-Back
The window automatically stops andreverses some distance if it detects anobstacle when closing.
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING: If you overridebounce-back, the window does notreverse if it detects an obstacle. Takecare when closing the windows to avoidpersonal injury or damage to yourvehicle.
Proceed as follows to override thisprotection feature when there is aresistance, for example in winter:
1.Close the window twice until it reachesthe point of resistance and let itreverse.
2.Close the window a third time to thepoint of resistance. The bounce-backfeature is now disabled and you canclose the window manually. Thewindow will go past the point ofresistance and you can close it fully.
See an authorized dealer as soon aspossible if the window does not close afterthe third attempt.
Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature
Note:The bounce-back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.

WARNING LAMPS AND
INDICATORS
The following warning lamps andindicators alert you to a vehicle conditionthat may become serious. Some lampsilluminate when you start your vehicle tomake sure they work. If any lamps remainon after starting your vehicle, refer to therespective system warning lamp for furtherinformation.
Note:Some warning indicators appear inthe information display and operate thesame as a warning lamp but do notilluminate when you start your vehicle.
Adaptive Cruise Control Indicator
(If Equipped)
It illuminates when you switchthe system on.
It illuminates white when thesystem is in standby mode. It illuminatesgreen when you set the adaptive cruisespeed.
See Using Adaptive Cruise Control(page 193).
Anti-Lock Braking System
If it illuminates when you aredriving, this indicates amalfunction. Your vehiclecontinues to have normal braking withoutthe anti-lock brake system function. Haveyour vehicle checked as soon as possible.
Automatic Headlamp High BeamIndicator (If Equipped)
It illuminates when the systemturns the headlamp high beamon.

Auto-Start-Stop Indicator
It illuminates when the enginehas automatically stopped. Itflashes to inform you when theengine needs to restart. The indicator isshown with a strikethrough if the systemis not available.

Battery
It illuminates when you switchthe ignition on.
If it illuminates when the engineis running this indicates a malfunction.Have your vehicle checked as soon aspossible.
Blind Spot Monitor (If Equipped)
It illuminates when you switchthe system off.
See Blind Spot InformationSystem (page 206).
Brake System Warning Lamp
WARNING: Driving your vehiclewith the warning lamp on is dangerous.A significant decrease in brakingperformance may occur. It may take youlonger to stop your vehicle. Have yourvehicle checked as soon as possible.Driving extended distances with theparking brake engaged can cause brakefailure and the risk of personal injury.
Note:Indicators vary depending on region.

•Trip Odometer — Shows your accumulated trip distance.
•Trip Timer— The timer stops when you turn your vehicle off and restarts when yourestart your vehicle.
•Average Fuel — Shows your average fuel economy for a given trip.
Note:You can reset your trip information by pressing and holding the OK button on the lefthand steering wheel controls.
