When driving with the full-size dissimilarspare wheel and tire assembly, 4WDfunctionality could be limited, especiallywhen driving in a mechanically locked 4WDmode. You could experience the following:
•Additional noise from the transfer caseor other drive components.
•Difficulty shifting out of a mechanicallylocked 4WD mode.
Use of a dissimilar spare wheel and tireassembly could lead to impairment of thefollowing:
•Comfort and noise.
•Winter weather driving capability.
•Wet driving capability.
•Four-wheel drive capability.
How your vehicle differs fromother vehicles
Sport utility vehicles and trucks can differfrom some other vehicles in a fewnoticeable ways. Your vehicle could be:
•Higher - to allow higher load carryingcapacity and to allow it to travel overrough terrain without damagingunderbody components.
•Shorter - to give it the capability toapproach inclines and drive over thecrest of a hill without damagingunderbody components. All otherthings held equal, a shorter wheelbasecould make your vehicle quicker torespond to steering inputs than avehicle with a longer wheelbase.
•Narrower - to provide greatermaneuverability in tight spaces,particularly in off-road use.
As a result of the above dimensionaldifferences, Sport utility vehicles andtrucks often will have a higher center ofgravity and a greater difference in centerof gravity between the loaded andunloaded condition. These differences thatmake your vehicle so versatile also makeit handle differently than an ordinarypassenger car.

Tire Quality Grades apply to newpneumatic passenger car tires.The Quality grades can be foundwhere applicable on the tiresidewall between tread shoulderand maximum section width. Forexample: Treadwear 200Traction AA Temperature A.
These Tire Quality Grades aredetermined by standards that theUnited States Department ofTransportation has set.

WARNING: Always inflatesteel carcass tires with a remoteair fill with the person inflatingstanding at a minimum of 12 ft(3.66 m) away from the wheeland tire assembly.
Important: Remember to replacethe wheel valve stems when theroad tires are replaced on yourvehicle.
The two front tires or two rear tiresshould generally be replaced as apair, except if the vehicle isequipped with four wheel drive.Vehicles equipped with four wheeldrive should have all four tiresreplaced simultaneously.Unevenly worn tires, mismatchedmakes, models or brands can bedifferent in size, resulting inpotential damage to the fourwheel drive system.
The tire pressure sensors mountedin the wheels are not designed tobe used in aftermarket wheels.
The use of wheels or tires notrecommended by us could affectthe operation of your tire pressuremonitoring system.
If the tire pressure monitoringsystem indicator is flashing, thesystem is malfunctioning. Yourreplacement tire might beincompatible with your tirepressure monitoring system, orsome component of the system
could be damaged.
Safety Practices
WARNING: If your vehicleis stuck in snow, mud or sand, donot rapidly spin the tires;spinning the tires can tear thetire and cause an explosion. Atire can explode in as little asthree to five seconds.
WARNING: Do not spin thewheels at over 34 mph(55 km/h). The tires may fail andinjure a passenger or bystander.
Driving habits have a great dealto do with your tire mileage andsafety.
*Observe posted speed limits
*Avoid fast starts, stops and turns
*Avoid potholes and objects onthe road
*Do not run over curbs or hit thetire against a curb when parking
Highway Hazards
No matter how carefully you drivethere is always the possibility thatyou could eventually have a flattire on the highway. Drive slowly
to the closest safe area out oftraffic. This could further damagethe flat tire, but your safety ismore important.

CREATING A VEHICLE WI-FI
HOTSPOT - VEHICLES
WITHOUT: SYNC
Use your FordPass app to create andchange the name and password of yourWi-Fi hotspot. Visit your regional websitefor more information on the FordPass app.
Make sure your FordPass account isconnected to the Connectivity Device. SeeConnecting FordPass to the Modem(page 337).
Note:The Wi-Fi Hotspot may be defaultedto off. If so you will need to switch it on usingthe FordPass app.
Connecting a Device to the Wi-FiHotspot
1.On your device, turn on Wi-Fi and selectthe hotspot from the list of availableWi-Fi networks.
2.When prompted, enter the password.
Purchasing a Data Plan
1.Connect a device to the hotspot.
Note:The vehicle network carrier’s portalopens on your device.
2.If the portal does not open on yourdevice, open a website and it redirectsto the vehicle network carrier’s portal.
Note:Secure websites do not redirect.
Note:If you have an active plan, the systemdoes not redirect to the vehicle networkcarrier’s portal when you connect a device.Visit the vehicle network carrier’s websiteto purchase more data.

Helpful Hints
•Make sure the interior of your vehicle isas quiet as possible. Wind noise fromopen windows and road vibrations mayprevent the system from correctlyrecognizing spoken commands.
•Before giving a voice command, waitfor the system announcement to finish,followed by a single tone. Anycommand spoken before this does notregister with the system.
•Speak naturally, without long pausesbetween words.
•You can interrupt the system at anytime while it is speaking by pressing thevoice button. You can cancel a voicesession by pressing and holding thevoice button.
System Interaction and Feedback
