The keyless entry keypad allows you tolock and unlock your vehicle using thekeypad on the window trim.

What Is the Master Access Code
The master access code is a factory-setfive-digit entry code. You can operate thekeypad with the master access code atany time. The master access code is on theowner’s wallet card in the glove box andis available from an authorized dealer.

PERSONAL ACCESS CODES
Programming a Personal EntryCode
1.Enter the five-digit master code.
2.Press 1·2 on the keypad within fiveseconds.
3.Enter your personal five-digit code.You must do this within five secondsof completing Step 2.
4.Press 1·2 on the keypad to savepersonal code 1.
The doors lock then unlock to confirm thatprogramming was successful.
To program additional personal entrycodes, repeat Steps 1 through 3, then forStep 4:
•Press 3·4 to save personal code 2.
•Press 5·6 to save personal code 3.
•Press 7·8 to save personal code 4.
•Press 9·0 to save personal code 5.
If your vehicle comes with SYNC, you canalso program the system with a personalentry code.
Hints:
•Do not set a code that uses five of thesame number.
•Do not use five numbers in sequentialorder.
•The five-digit master code works evenif you have set your own personal code.
Erasing a Personal Code
1.Enter the five-digit master code.
2.Press and release 1·2 on the keypadwithin five seconds.
3.Press and hold 1·2 for two seconds.You must do this within five secondsof completing Step 2.

WARNING: The tailgate is heavy.Removal of the tailgate requires twoadults. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or propertydamage.
Note:Skip to Step 4 if your vehicle doesnot have power door locks.
1.Unlatch the tailgate.
2.Disconnect the power door locks in-lineconnector. It is under the pickup boxon the right-hand side of the vehiclenear the spare tire.
3.Install a protective cap on the in-lineconnector portion that remains underthe pickup box.
Note: A protective cap should be in theglove compartment.
4.Partially lower the tailgate. Carefullyfeed the tailgate harness up throughthe gap between the pickup box andthe bumper and place it out of the wayunder the pickup box.
5.Lower the tailgate.
6.Use a screwdriver to gently pry thespring clip on each connector past thehead of the support screw. Disconnectthe cable.
7.Disconnect the other cable.
8.Lift the tailgate to 45 degrees from thehorizontal position.
9.Lift the right-hand side off its hinge.
10.Lift the tailgate to 80 degrees fromthe horizontal position.
11.Remove the tailgate from theleft-hand side hinge by sliding it tothe right.
12.Install the tailgate in reverse order.

1.Lower the tailgate.
2.Push the button in the center of thestep molding. The step pops outslightly.

4.Install a protective cap on the in-lineconnector portion that remains underthe pickup box.
Note: The protective cap is in the glovecompartment.
5.Partially raise the tailgate. Carefullyfeed the tailgate harness up throughthe gap between the pickup box andthe bumper and place it out of the wayunder the pickup box.
6.Fully lower the tailgate.
7.Remove the retaining screw.
8.Use a screwdriver to gently pry thespring clip on each connector past thehead of the support screw. Disconnectthe cable.
9.Disconnect the other cable.
10.Lift the tailgate to 45 degrees fromthe horizontal position.
11.Lift the right-hand side off its hinge.
12.Lift the tailgate to 80 degrees fromthe horizontal position.
13.Remove the tailgate from theleft-hand side hinge by sliding it tothe right.
14.Install the tailgate in reverse order.
Note:After reinstalling the tailgate it isimportant to reinstall the retaining screw tothe recommended torque,7 lb.ft (10 Nm).Failure to install the retaining screw cancause the tailgate to detach.
