ignition such as the pilot lights of water heat-
ers and clothes dryers.
2. Do not overfill the fuel tank. When refueling, be sure to insert the pump nozzle into the fuel
tank filler hole. Stop filling when the fuel
reaches the bottom of the filler tube. Because
fuel expands when it heats up, heat from the
engine or the sun can cause fuel to spill out of
the fuel tank. 3. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
NOTICE: Immediately wipe off spilled fuel
with a clean, dry, soft cloth, since fuel may
deteriorate painted surfaces or plastic
parts.

4. Turn the fuel tank cap fully clockwise to make sure it is securely closed.EBU38651FuelMake sure there is sufficient gasoline in the tank
before starting off. Refuel if necessary.
WARNING
EWB02532Gasoline is poisonous and can cause injury or
death. Handle gasoline with care. Never siphon
gasoline by mouth. If you should swallow some
gasoline or inhale a lot of gasoline vapor, or get
some gasoline in your eyes, see your doctor
immediately. If gasoline spills on your skin,
wash with soap and water. If gasoline spills on
your clothing, change your clothes.

TIPConfirm the gasoline pump nozzle has the same
fuel identification mark.
About the recommended fuel
This model’s engine has been designed to use
regular unleaded gasoline. The research octane
number should be 91 or higher. If knocking or
pinging occurs, try a gasoline of a different brand
or higher octane.TIPGasoline containing ethanol can be used if the
ethanol content does not exceed 10% (E10). Gas-
oline containing methanol is not recommended
because it can cause damage to the fuel system
or vehicle performance problems. NOTICEECB00071Use only unleaded gasoline. The use of leaded
gasoline will cause severe damage to internal
engine parts, such as the valves and piston
rings, as well as to the exhaust system.
Recommended fuel:Regular unleaded gasoline (Gasohol [E10]
acceptable)
Fuel tank capacity: 18 L (4.8 US gal, 4.0 Imp.gal)
Fuel reserve amount: 4.0 L (1.06 US gal, 0.88 Imp.gal)1. EN228 fuel identification mark

EBU34152Storage compartmentNOTICEECB02320Do not store metal or sharply edged objects,
like tools, in the storage compartment. If they
must be stored, wrap them in appropriate
cushion material to prevent damaging the stor-
age compartment. The storage compartment is located in front of the
seat. To access the storage compartment, open
the storage compartment lid. When storing any documents in the storage com-
partment, be sure to wrap them in a plastic bag so
that they will not get wet. When washing the vehi-
cle, be careful not to let any water enter the stor-
age compartment.
Do not exceed the load limit of 4.0 kg (9 lb) for
the storage compartment.
Do not exceed the maximum load of 240.0 kg

(YFM700FWBD)The spring preload can be adjusted to suit the rid-
er’s weight and the riding conditions.
WARNING
EWB00401Always adjust the shock absorber assemblies
on the left and right side to the same setting.
Uneven adjustment can cause poor handling
and loss of stability, which could lead to an ac-
cident. Adjust the spring preload as follows.
Turn the spring preload adjusting ring in direction
(a) to increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, and in direction (b) to de-
crease the spring preload and thereby soften the
suspension.
