Air conditioning filter
Vehicles without smart entry & start system: Turn the engine switch
to the “LOCK” position.
Vehicles with smart entry & start system: Turn the engine switch off.
Open the glove box. Turn the
claws as shown in the illustra-
tion.
Pull out the claws.
The air conditioning filter must be changed regularly to maintain
air conditioning efficiency.

Maintenance and care
Pull out the damper (if
equipped) as shown in the illus-
tration, and then remove the
glove box.
Remove the filter cover.
Remove the air conditioning fil-
ter and replace it with a new
one.
The “ UP” marks shown on the fil-
ter should be pointing up.
Q Changing interval
Inspect and replace the air conditioning filter according to the maintenance
schedule. In dusty areas or areas with heavy traffic flow, early replacement
may be required. (For scheduled maintenance information, please refer to the
“Toyota Service Booklet” or “Toyota Warranty Booklet”.)
Q If air flow from the vents decreases dramatically
The filter may be clogged. Check the filter and replace if necessary.

When trouble arises
(Flashes or illuminates)
Fuel system warning light (warning buzzer)*5 (if
equipped)
The amount of accumulated water in the fuel filter has
reached the specified level if the light flashes.

The fuel filter need to be replaced if the light comes on.
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
(Flashes or illuminates)
Brake Override System warning light*1 (if equipped)
Indicates that the accelerator and brake pedal are being
depressed simultaneously if the warning light comes on
( P. 195)
Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake
pedal.
Indicates a malfunction in the Brake Override System if
the warning light flashes
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
Cruise control indicator*6 (if equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the cruise control system

PCS warning light (if equipped)
When a buzzer sounds simultaneously:
Indicates a malfunction has occurred in the PCS (Pre-Col-
lision System).
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
When a buzzer does not sound:
The PCS (Pre-Collision System) has become temporarily
unavailable, corrective action may be necessary.
Follow the instructions displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display. ( P. 271, 575)
If the PCS (Pre-Collision System) or VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control) system is disabled, the PCS warning light will illu-
minate.
