When customizing vehicle features, ensure that the vehicle is parked
in a safe place with the shift le ver in P and the parking brake set.
■Changing on the audio system screen
Press the “MENU” button.
Select “Setup” on the “Menu” screen.
Select “General” or “Vehicle” on the “Setup” screen.
Various setting can be changed. Refer to the list of settings t hat can
be changed for details.

Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be
personalized to suit your preferences. The settings of these fe a-
tures can be changed using the multi-information display, on th e
audio system screen, or at your Toyota dealer.

●Did you press the power switch while firmly depressing the brake pedal?

●Is the shift lever in P? ( P. 202)
●Is the electronic key anywhere detectable inside the vehicle? ( P. 152)
●Is the steering wheel unlocked? (P. 203)
●Is the electronic key battery weak or depleted?
In this case, the hybrid system can be started in a temporary way.

●Is the 12-volt battery discharged? ( P. 510)
●Is the power switch in ON mode?
If you cannot release the shift lever by depressing the brake p edal with the
power switch in ON mode. ( P. 213)
●It is locked automatically to prevent theft of the vehicle. ( P. 203)
●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be oper-
ated if the window lock switch is pressed. ( P. 177)
●The auto power off function will be operated if the vehicle is left in ACCES-
SORY or ON mode (the hybrid system is not operating) for a peri od of

If you think something is wrong
The hybrid system does not start
The shift lever cannot be shifted from P even if you depress
the brake pedal
The steering wheel cannot be t urned after the hybrid system
is stopped
The windows do not open or close by operating the power
window switches

●Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door during setting the al arm?
The sensor detects it and the alarm sounds. ( P. 88)
Do one of the following to stop the alarm:
• Unlock the doors.
• Open the trunk using the entry function or wireless remote con trol.
• Turn the power switch to ACCESSORY or ON mode, or start the hy brid
system.
