Instruments

increasing audible signal.
A seat belt has not been fastened or has been
unfastened.
The driver has not fastened or has unfastened
their seat belt. The front passenger has
unfastened their
seat belt.
Exterior perimeter alarm and electronic
engine immobiliser
Fixed.
The alarm and electronic engine
immobiliser system is not deactivated (the
remote control has not been recognised).
Lock the vehicle, then unlock it and switch on the
ignition again.
If the problem persists, carry out (2).
AirbagsFixed.
One of the airbags or seat belt
pyrotechnic pretensioners is faulty.
Carry out (3).
Parking brakeFixed.
The parking brake is applied or not
properly released.
BrakingFixed.
The brake fluid level in the braking circuit
has dropped significantly. Carry out (1), then top up with fluid that complies
with the manufacturer's recommendations. If the
problem persists, carry out (2).
Fixed.
The electronic brake force
distribution

(EBFD) system is faulty.
Carry out (1) and then (2).
Orange warning/indicator lamps
Service
Temporarily on, accompanied by the display of a message.
One or more minor faults, for which there is/are
no specific warning lamp(s), have been detected.
Identify the cause of the fault using the message
displayed on the instrument panel.
It is possible to deal with some faults yourself,
such as changing the battery of the remote
control.
For other faults, such as with the tyre under-
inflation detection system, carry out (3).
Fixed, accompanied by the display of a
message.
One or more major faults, for which there is/are
no specific warning lamp(s), have been detected.
Identify the cause of the fault using the message
displayed on the instrument panel, then carry
out (3).
Engine pre-heating (Diesel)Temporarily on (up to approximately 30 seconds in severe weather conditions).
When switching on the ignition, if the weather
conditions and the engine temperature make it
necessary.
Wait until the warning lamp goes off before
starting.
When the warning lamp goes off, starting will
occur immediately if you press and hold:
–

the clutch pedal with a manual gearbox.
–

the brake pedal with an automatic gearbox.
If the engine does not start, make the engine
starting request again, while keeping your foot
on the pedal.
Low fuel levelFixed, with the reserve level shown in red.
When it first comes on, you have
approximately 11 litres of fuel remaining in the
tank (reserve).
Until the fuel level is topped up, this alert will
be repeated every time the ignition is switched
on, with increasing frequency as the fuel level
decreases and approaches zero.
Refuel without delay to avoid running out of fuel.
Never drive until completely empty, as
this could damage the emissions control and
injection systems.
Engine self-diagnostic systemFlashing.
The engine management system has a
fault.
There is a risk that the catalytic converter will be
destroyed.

You must carry out (2).Fixed.

The warning lamp should go off when the engine
is started.
Carry out (3) without delay.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS)Fixed.
The anti-lock braking system has a fault.
The vehicle retains conventional braking.
Drive carefully at moderate speed, then carry
out (3).
Rear differential locking
Flashing.
The system is activated but the differential
locking is not yet active.
Fixed.
The rear differential is locked.
To unlock the rear differential, press the button
again.
4x4 transmission self-diagnosticsFixed.
The wheels do not receive any drive
power.
The vehicle must be switched off.
Wait for the warning lamp to go out before
restarting the vehicle.
If the warning lamp remains on, carry out (2).
Dynamic stability control (DSC)/Anti-slip
regulation (ASR)
Fixed.
The system is deactivated.
The DSC/ASR system is activated automatically
when the vehicle is started.
Flashing.
DSC/ASR regulation is activated in the
event of a loss of grip or trajectory.
Fixed.
The DSC/ASR system has a fault.
Carry out (3).
Hill start assistFixed, accompanied by the
message "Anti roll-back system
fault".
The system has a fault.
Carry out (3).
75 mph (120 km/h) overspeed alertFixed, accompanied by an audible signal.
The vehicle’s speed has exceeded 75
mph (120 km/h) (depending on country of sale).
Slow down the vehicle.
Front passenger airbag (ON)Fixed.
The front passenger airbag is activated.
The control is in the "ON" position.
In this case, do NOT install a "rearward
facing" child seat on the front passenger seat
- risk of serious injury!
Front passenger airbag (OFF)Fixed.
The front passenger airbag is deactivated.
The control is in the "OFF" position.
A "rearward facing" child seat can be installed,
unless there is a fault with the airbags (Airbags
warning lamp on).
Under-inflationFixed, accompanied by an audible signal
and a message.
The pressure in one or more tyres is too low.
Check the pressure of the tyres as soon as
possible.
The detection system automatically reinitialises
itself

after adjusting the pressure.
Under-inflation warning lamp
flashing then fixed and Service
warning lamp fixed.
The tyre pressure monitoring system is faulty.
Under-inflation detection is no longer monitored.
Check the tyre pressures as soon as possible
and carry out (3).

Remote control function

The remote control can be used for the following
remote functions, depending on version:

Unlocking/Locking the vehicle.

Remote audible signal.

Setting the driver
’s door selective unlocking.

Folding/Unfolding the door mirrors.

Activating/Deactivating the alarm.

Locating the vehicle.
–


Opening/Closing the windows.

Activating the vehicle’
s electronic immobiliser.
The remote control includes a conventional key
that allows the central unlocking/locking of the
vehicle using the door lock, as well as starting
and switching off the engine.
Back-up procedures allow the vehicle to be
locked/unlocked in the event of a failure of the
remote control, the central locking, the battery, etc. For more information on the Back-up
procedures, please refer to the corresponding
section.
Built-in key
The key built into the remote control can be
used for the following operations, depending on
version:
–

Locking/Unlocking the vehicle.
–


Activation/Deactivation of the front passenger
airbag.
–


Back-up Unlocking/Locking of the doors.
–


Switching on the ignition and starting/switching
off the engine.
W

ithout Keyless Entry and Starting


► To unfold or fold the key, press the button.
With Keyless Entry and Starting


► To eject the key or put it back in place, press
and hold the button.
Unlocking the vehicle
Selective unlocking (driver’s door) is configured
with the remote control or via the touch screen
(depending on version).
► Without Keyless Entry and
Starting, by pressing these 2
buttons simultaneously for approximately 4
seconds (confirmed by an audible signal on the
instrument panel).
► With Keyless Entry and Starting, by
pressing this button for approximately 5
seconds (confirmed by an audible signal on the
instrument panel) or via the Vehicle settings
touch screen menu.
With the remote control
► Press this button to unlock the vehicle.
Unlocking is signalled by rapid flashing of
the direction indicators for a few seconds.
Depending on version, the door mirrors unfold
and the welcome lighting comes on.
Selective unlocking
Driver's door
► Press the unlocking button.
► Press it again to unlock the other doors.
Complete or selective unlocking and alarm
deactivation is confirmed by flashing the
direction indicators.
Depending on version, the door mirrors unfold.
Opening the windows
Depending on version, holding the
unlocking button pressed for more than 3
seconds opens the windows.
The windows stop when the button is released.
With the key
Driver's door
► Turn the key in the driver's door lock towards
the front of the vehicle to unlock it.
If the vehicle has an alarm, it will not be
deactivated. Opening a door will trigger the
alarm, which can be stopped by pressing the
remote control unlocking button.
Tailgate (depending on version)
► Turn the dedicated key in the tailgate lock to
the left to unlock.
Locking the vehicle
With the remote control
► Press this button to lock the vehicle.
Locking and alarm activation is confirmed by the
lighting of the direction indicators.

Ease of use and comfort
The backrest of the seat located next to the
driver, once in the table position, can also be
used as an armrest and has 2 cup/can holders
and a support strap.
For more information on the Seat belts,
refer to the corresponding section.
Folding the backrests
The backrests must only be operated with the vehicle stationary.
While driving, having a passenger in the rear,
behind the front benchseat is prohibited if the
benchseat backrests are tilted.
When sharp deceleration occurs, objects
placed on the folded backrest can turn into
projectiles.
Preliminary operations:
► Lower the head restraints.
► Check that no person or object will interfere
with folding down the backrests (clothing,
luggage, etc.).
► Check that the outer seat belt is properly
tensioned along the pillars, the central belt is
stowed and the tongues of the belts are correctly
in the stowed position.
Deactivation of the front passenger
airbag is recommended.

Manually-adjustable seats
Forwards-backwards

► Raise the control bar and slide the seat
forwards or backwards.
►

Release the bar to lock the seat in position on
one of the notches.
Backrest angle

► Pull the control all the way up and tilt the
backrest forwards or backwards to adjust it.
Height
(driver only)

► Pull the control upwards to raise the seat or
push it downwards to lower the seat, until you
obtain the position required.
Electrically-adjustable seats
Longitudinal

► Push the control forwards or backwards to
slide the seat.
Backrest angle

► Tilt the control forwards or backwards.
Cushion height and angle
(driver only)

► Tilt the rear of the control upwards or
downwards to obtain the required height and
angle.
Electric lumbar adjustment
(driver only)

► Press and hold the front or rear of the
control to increase or reduce the lumbar
support.
2-seat front bench seat
It includes 2 fixed cushions with 2 independent
backrests (adjustable and foldable in the table
position).

The maximum load distributed over the backrests, in the table position, is 75 kg.
A heavier load could damage the backrest
frames.
Repositioning the backrests

► Straighten the backrest 2 or 3 and push it
firmly to engage its locking system.
►

Check that the release strap 1

has correctly
returned to its position.
►

Check that the central seat belt is not trapped
during the manoeuvre.
Please note: an incorrectly latched
backrest compromises the safety of
passengers in the event of sudden braking or
an accident.
Backrest angle
Several adjustment positions are possible.
► Pull the strap 1 forwards, then tilt the
corresponding backrest forwards to the desired
position.
