Ad
aptive Highbeam Assist Plus is only an aid. Yo u
are responsible for ensuring cor rect vehicle light‐
ing in accordance with the pr evailing light, visibil‐
ity and traf fic conditions. Ad
aptive Highbeam Assist Plus swit ches auto‐
matically between thefo llowing light types:
R Low beam
R Partial high beam
R High beam
Pa rtial high beam uses high beam toshine past
ot her road users rath er than dazzling them. The
low beam illumination area co vers theve hicle in
front.
At speeds lo werth an 25 km/h or if there is insuf‐
fi cient stre et lighting, Highbeam Assist Plus will
per form thefo llowing actions:
R Partial high beam and high beam will be auto‐
matically deactivated.
R The 0057 indicator lamp on the instrument
clus ter will go out. The 00CEsymbol for High‐
beam Assist Plus will remain switched on.
At speeds greater than 30 km/h, Highbeam
Assist Plus will per form thefo llowing actions:
R If no other road users are de tected, high
beam will be switched on.
R Ifot her road users are de tected, part ial high
beam will be switched on.
R The 0057 indicator lamp on the instrument
clus ter will light up. At
speeds greater than 40 km/h, Highbeam
Assist Plus will per form thefo llowing actions:
R If no other road users are de tected and the
ro ad is stra ight, high beam will be switched
on.
R If highly reflective signs are de tected, high
beam will auto maticallybe switched off.
R Ifot her road users are de tected, part ial high
beam will be switched on automaticall y.
R The 0057 indicator lamp on the instrument
clus ter will light up.
The sy stem's optical sensor is located behind the
windscreen near theove rhead cont rol panel.

Toswitch on: switch on high beam using the
combination switch.
If high beam is au tomatical lyswitched on in
darkness, the00CE indicator lamp on the
multifunction display will light up. #

may occur:
R You could come into con tact with hot
ga ses.
R You could come into con tact with other
hot, escaping operating fluids. #
Before opening the bonn et, allow the
engine tocool down. #
Intheeve nt of a fire inthe engine com‐
partment, keep the bonn etclosed and
call thefire service. The coolant
temp erature display is located within
th e instrument clus ter's rev counter.
During normal driving and if the coolant le vel is

WARNING Risk of distraction from infor‐
mation sy stems and communications
equipment
If yo u operate information and communica‐
tion equipment integ rated in theve hicle when
driving, you will be distracted from the tra ffic
situation. This could also cause youto lose
control of theve hicle. #
Only operate this equipment when the
traf fic situation permits. #
Ifyo u cannot be sure of this, stop the
ve hicle whilst paying attention toroad
and traf fic conditions and ope rate the
equipment with theve hicle stationar y. Yo
u must obse rveth e legal requirements forthe
country in whi chyou are cur rently driving when
ope rating the on-board computer. 1

Ve hicles with manual transmission: if youre mo ve
th eke y,then quickly re-inse rtit and switch the
po we r supp lyon, the on-board computer and the
