Anti-trap
mechanism
Principle
The
anti-trap
mechanism
prevents
objects
or
parts
of
the
body
from
becoming
trapped
bej
tween
the
door
frame
and
window
while
a
winj dow
is
being
closed.
General
If
resistance
or
a
blockage
is
detected
while
a window
is
being
closed,
the
closing
operation
isinterrupted.
Safety
note
WARNING
Accessories
on
the
windows,
for
example
aerj
ials,
can
impair
the
anti-trap
mechanism.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury.
Do
not
attach
any
accessories
within
the
area
of
movement
of
the
windows.
Closing
without
the
anti-trap
mechanism
If
an
external
hazard
or
ice
prevents
you
fromclosing
the
windows
normally,
proceed
as
folj lows:
1.

Pull
the
switch
past
the
resistance
point
and
hold
it
in
this
position.
The
window
is
closed
but
with
limited
anti- trap
function.
If
the
closing
force
exceeds
acertain
level,
the
closing
operation
is
interrupj
ted.2.

Pull
the
switch
past
the
resistance
point
again
within
approximately
4
seconds and
hold
it
in
this
position.

Safety
switch
Principle
The
safety
switch
can
be
used
to
prevent
chilj
dren
from
opening
and
closing
the
rear
windows
with
the
switches
in
the
rear,
for
example.
In
the
event
of
an
accident
of
sufficient
severity,
the
safety
function
is
automatically
switched
off.
Switching
on/off Press
the
button.
The
LED
is
illuminated
when
the
safety
function
is
switched
on.
Electric
glass
sunroof
General The
glass
sunroof
and
the
sun
guard
are
operj
ated
using
the
same
switch.
The
glass
sunroof
can
be
opened
and
closed
from
outside
with
the
vehicle
key.
With
Comfort
Access:
The
glass
sunroof
can
be
closed
from
outside
using
Comfort
Access.

Parts

the
body

become
trapped
when the
glass
sunroof
is
operated.
There
is

Comfort
position
In
some
models,
the
wind
noises
in
the
car's
injterior
are
lowest
when
the
glass
sunroof
is
notfully
open.
In
these
models,
the
automatic
funcjtion
initially
only
opens
the
glass
sunroof
as
far
asthis
comfort
position.
Pressing
the
switch
again
opens
the
glass
sunj
roof
fully.
For
closing
when
it
is
raining Principle
An
open
glass
sunroof
is
automatically
moved
to
the
raised
position
when
it
starts
to
rain
or
six hours
after
the
vehicle
has
been
locked.
Operating
requirements
'xIt
must
be
possible
for
rain
to
reach
the
touch
control
box
in
the
area
of
the
rear-view
mirror. The
touch
control
box
may
be
obscured
by
a
car
port
or
bridge,
for
example.'xVehicle
must
be
in
rest
state.'xThe
function
must
be
activated
in
the
setj tings.

Malfunctions
The
open
glass
sunroof
is
not
moved
to
the raised
position
under
the
following

closing

attempted.
If
rain
detection
is
not
possible
due
to
the
sysj
tem,
the
open
glass
sunroof
is
immediately moved
to
the
raised
position.

Anti-trap
mechanism Principle
The
anti-trap
mechanism
prevents
objects
or parts
of
the
body
from
becoming
trapped
bej tween
the
roof
frame
and
glass
sunroof
while
theglass
sunroof
is
being
closed.
General
If
resistance
or
a
blockage
is
detected
while
the
glass
sunroof
is
being
closed,
the
closing
operaj
tion
is
interrupted
once
the
roof
reaches
the
half-
open
position
or
it
is
stopped
when
closing
from
the
raised
position.
Closing
without
the
anti-trap
mechanism
from
an
open
position
If
an
external
hazard
or
ice
prevents
you
from closing
the
windows
normally,
proceed
as
foljlows:
1.Close
all
doors.2.Slide
the
switch
forwards
beyond
the
resistj
ance
point
and
hold
it
in
this
position.
The
glass
sunroof
is
closed
with
limited
anti- trap
function.
If
the
closing
force
exceeds
acertain
level,
the
closing
operation
is
interrupj
ted.3.Press
the
switch
forwards
once
again
beyond the
resistance
point
and
hold
until
the
glasssunroof
closes
with
no
anti-trap
function.
Enj
sure
that
the
closing
area
is
clear.
Closing
without
the
anti-trap
mechanism
from
a
raised
position
If

closing
the
windows

Initialising
after
a
power
failure
GeneralIf
a
power
failure
occurs
while
the
glass
sunroof
is
opening
or
closing,
it
may
only
have
limited functionality
afterwards.
In
this
case,
initialising
the
system
can
help.
The
system
can
be
initialised
under
the
following
conditions:
'xThe
vehicle
is
parked
on
level
ground.'xThe
vehicle
does
not
move
until
initialisation
is
complete.'xIn
drive-ready
state.'xThe
outside
temperature
is
above

of

the
backrest
is
angled
back
too
far,
the

function

belt

Adjust
the
seat before
starting

backrest

support

lumbar
region,

edge
of

pelvis
and
the
spinal
column
are
supported
to
encourage
an
upright
posture.

restriction
It
may

width Principle
To
adjust
the
backrest
width
can
improve
lateral support
when
taking
corners.

backrest
width
is
changed
by
adjusting
theside
sections
of
the
backrest.
Adjusting

Backrest
width
is
reduced.'xPress
the
button
at
the
rear:
Backrest
width
is
increased.Function
restriction
It
may
not
be
possible
to
adjust
the
backrest
width
at
very
high
and
very
low
temperatures.
Seat
belts
General
For
the
safety
of
the
vehicle
occupants,
the
vehij
cle
is
equipped
with
five
seat
belts.
However, they
can
only
provide
effective
protection
when
worn
correctly.
Before
each
journey,
always
make
sure
that
all occupants
have
fastened
their
seat
belts.
The
airbags
supplement
the
seat
belts
as
an
addij tional
safety
device.
The
airbags
are
not
a
substij
tute
for
the
seat
belts.
The
belt
anchorage
is
suitable
for
adults
of
any
stature
if
the
seat
is
adjusted
correctly.
The
two
outer
belt
buckles
on
the
rear
seats
are
intended
for
those
sitting
on
the
left
and
right.
The
inner
belt
buckle
on
the
rear
seats
is
intenj
ded
for
the
person
sitting
in
the
middle.
Safety
notes
WARNING
If
a
seat
belt
is
used
by
more
than
one
person at
the
same
time,
the
protective
function
of
the
seat
belt
is
no
longer
guaranteed.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury
or
even
death.
Only
one
person
should
use
each
seat
belt
at
any
one
time.
Do
not
allow
infants
and
children
to
travel
on
the
lap
of
another
occupant.
Instead,
secure
the
inj fant
or
child
in
a
child
restraint
system
intendedfor
this
purpose.
WARNING
The
protective
function
of
the
seat
belts
may
be
limited
or
may
even
fail
completely
if
the
seat
belts
are
worn
incorrectly.
