This
function
helps

prevent
inadvertent

taking

motorways.
Depending
on
the
equipment

overtaking

lane.

setting
applies
to
speeds
over
80
km/h/50
mph.
If
the
set
speed
is
significantly
higher
than
the speed
in
the
adjacent
lane,
it
may
be
possible
to
pass
or
overtake
other
vehicles
even
if
the
funcj tion
is
switched
on.
At
speeds
below
80
km/h/50
mph,
vehicles
on
motorways
are
only
overtaken
with
an
adapted
differential
speed.
The
driver
can
overtake
or
accelerate
at
any
time
by
pressing
the
accelerator
pedal.

If
another
vehicle
suddenly
cuts

able

restore

In

it

restore
the
selected
distance
if
you
are
driving
signifij
cantly
faster
than
vehicles
in
front,
for
example when
rapidly
approaching
a
lorry.
If
a
vehicle
is
clearly
detected
in
front
of
you,
the
system
prompts
you
to
intervene
by
braking,
and
if
necj essary
by
taking
evasive
action.
Cornering
If
the
desired
speed
is
too
high
for
cornering,
itwill
be
reduced
slightly
in
the
bend.
However,
the
system
may
not
detect
bends
in
advance,
so moderate
your
speed
when
cornering.
The
system
has
a
limited
detection
range.
Situaj tions
can
arise
on
tight
bends
where
a
vehicle
driving
in
front
will
not
be
detected
or
will
be
dej
tected
very
late.
When
your
vehicle
is
approaching
a
bend,
the angle
of
the
bend
may
cause
the
system
to
rej
spond
temporarily
to
vehicles
in
the
other
lane.
If
the
system
responds
by
decelerating
the
vehicle,
you
may
compensate
for
this
by
accelerating
briefly.
When
the
accelerator
pedal
is
released
again,
the
system
will
resume
control
of
the
vehij cle's
speed.
Driving
off The
vehicle
cannot
drive
off
automatically
in
some
situations,
for
example:
'xOn
steep
upward
gradients.'xBefore
bumps
or
rises
in

road.
