Memory
function
Principle
The
memory
function
enables
the
following

be
stored
and
retrieved
when

General
For
each
driver
profile,
two
memory
slots
can
be assigned
with
different
settings.
The
following
settings
are
not
saved:
'xBackrest
width.'xLumbar
support.
Safety
notes
WARNING
Using
the
memory
function
while
driving
may cause
the
seat
or
steering
wheel
to
move
unexj
pectedly.
You
could
lose
control
of
the
vehicle.
There
is
a
risk
of
accident.
Only
call
up
the
memory
function
when
the
vehicle
is
at
standj
still.
WARNING
There

entrapment
when

seats are
moved.
There

injury
or
material

Before
making

adjustment,

Seat
air
conditioning
Principle
The
seat
air
conditioning
combines
the
seat
heating
and
active
seat
ventilation
functions.
General The
seat
heating
and
active
seat
ventilation
areoperated
via
the
same
button
on
the
HVAC
conjtrol
panel.
If
both
systems
are
active,
pressing
the
button will
reduce
the
intensity
of
both
functions
by
one
stage
in
each
case.
The
last
active
or
higher
intensity
function
is
actij
vated
directly
when
the
system
is
switched
on
again.
If
both
functions
are
switched
off
at
the same
time
with
the
same
intensity
setting,
the
system
automatically
activates
the
seat
heating.

Regulation
climate
control
Principle
Depending
on
the
equipment,
some
heating
and cooling
functions
can
be
activated
automatically according
to
the
outside
temperature.
General The
outside
temperature
from
which
the
funcj
tions
are
to
be
activated
automatically
can
be
set using
iDrive.
Activation
is
performed
if
the
outside
temperaj
ture
exceeds
or
falls
below
the
set
temperature in
the
first
few
minutes
after
drive-ready
state
has
been
switched
on.
A
new
alignment
is
carj
ried
out
after
the
settings
have
been
changed.
Depending
on
the
equipment
version,
the
following
functions
can
be
activated
automatij
cally:

wheel
heating.'xSeat
ventilation.
If

journey
is
continued
within
about

nutes

rear
seats
General
Accident
research
has
shown
that
the
safest
place
for
children
is
on
the
rear
seat.
Wherever
possible,
children
younger
than
12
years
old
or
shorter
than
150
cm,
5
ft
should only
be
transported
in
the
rear
using
child
rejstraint
systems
appropriate
for
their
age,
weight
and
stature.
Children
aged
12
years
and
older must
be
secured
with
a
seat
belt
as
soon
as
useof
a
child
restraint
system
is
no
longer
approprijate
due
to
their
age,
weight
or
stature.

systems
and
their
attachment systems
have
been
damaged
or
subjected
to
stresses
in
an
accident,
their
protective

tion

limited
or
may
fail
completely.
A
child
might
not
be
adequately
restrained,
for

in

event
of
an
accident,
braking
or
evasive
action.
There
is
a
risk

Child
restraint
systems

are
damaged

subjected

stresses

accident

child
restraint
systems
DANGER
If
triggered,
active
front
passenger
airbags
can
fatally
injure
a
child
in
a
rearward
facing
child
rej straint
system.
There

Make
sure

the
front
passenger
airjbags
are
deactivated
and
the
PASSENGER
AIRBAG
OFF
indicator
lamp
is
illuminated.
Follow
the
information
on
the
front
passenger
sun
visor.
Never
use
a
rearward-facing
child
restraint
on
a seat
protected
by
an
active
airbag
in
front
of
it,
as
death
or
serious
injury
to
the
child
can
occur.
Seat
position
and
height After
installing
a
universal
child
restraint
system,
move
the
front
passenger
seat
as
far
back
as
it will
go
and
adjust
it
to
the
highest
position.
Thisseat
position
and
height
achieves
the
best
possij
ble
routing
of
the
belt
and
protection
in
the
event
of
an
accident.
If
the
upper
attachment
point
of
the
seat
belt
is located
ahead
of
the
child
seat's
belt
guide,

fully
move

front
passenger
seat
forwards
until

best
possible
belt
guidance

achieved.
