The
visibility

the

lighting
conditions.
If
the
image
is
distorted,
have
the
default
settings checked
by
a
Service
Partner
of
the
manufacjturer
or
another
qualified
Service
Partner
or
a
specialist
workshop.
Special
windscreen
The
windscreen
is
an
integral
part
of
the
system. The
shape
of
the
windscreen
enables
a
sharpimage
to
be
projected.
A
film
in
the
windscreen
prevents
the
projection
of
double
images.
Therefore
if
the
special
windscreen
needs
to
be replaced,
it
is
strongly
recommended
that
this
be carried
out
by
a
Service
Partner
of
the
manufacjturer
or
another
qualified
Service
Partner
or
a
specialist
workshop.

off

can
only

in

speed
range.

light
functions

Adaptive
Headlights
General The
headlight
beams
follow
the
road
ahead
in
rejsponse
to
the
steering
angle
and
other
paramej
ters.
To
prevent
dazzling
oncoming
vehicles,
the Adaptive
Headlights
do
not
swivel
to
the
oppoj
site
side
of
the
road
at
standstill.
If
the
headlights
are
converted,
the
Adaptive
Headlights
may
only
function
to
a
limited
extent.

headlights
for
bends
The
beams
are
adapted

direction

the
road
ahead

entering

bends
The
cornering
light

beam

Cornering
light
In
sharp
turns
up
to
a
specified
speed,
for
examj
ple
in
hairpin
bends
or
when
turning
off,
a
cornerj ing
light
is
added
to
illuminate
the
inside
area
ofthe
bend.
The
cornering
light
is
activated
automatically

pending
on
the
steering
angle
or,
where

of
the
turn
indicators.
When
reversing,
the
cornering
light
is
activated
automatically
as
appropriate,
irrespective
of
the
steering

Roundabout
light
Shortly
before
driving
onto
a
roundabout,
the
cornering
light

both
sides

The edge

the
road
is
illuminated
more

Adaptive
headlight

Adaptive
headlight
beam
throw
adjustment

acceleration

braking
manoeujvres

vehicle
load
conditions
to
prevent
onjcoming
vehicles
from
being
dazzled.
Illuminationof
the
road
is
optimised.
High-beam
assistance
Principle High-beam
assistance
detects
other
road
users
in
good
time
and
activates
or
deactivates
the
high
beam
depending
on
the
traffic
situation.
General
High-beam
assistance
ensures
that
the
high- beam
headlights
are
switched
on
when
the
traffic situation
allows.
The
system
does
not
switch
onthe
high-beam
headlights
at
low
speeds.
The
system
responds
to
the
lights
from
oncomj
ing
traffic
and
traffic
driving
ahead
of
you,
and
to
ambient
lighting,
for
example
in
built-up
areas.
The
high-beam
headlights
can
be
switched
on
and
off
manually
at
any
time.
If
the
no-dazzle
high
beam
assistant
is
installed,
the
high-beam
headlights
are
not
switched
off
for
oncoming
vehicles
or
vehicles
driving
ahead
of
you.
The
system
only
masks
those
areas
of the
beam
which
would
otherwise
dazzle
oncomjing
traffic
or
traffic
driving
ahead.
In
this
case,
the
blue
indicator
lamp
continues
to
illuminate.
If
the
headlights
are
converted,
high-beam
assisj
tance
may
only
function
to
a
limited
extent.

The
high
beam
assistant
is
deactivated
by
switching
the
high
beams
on
and
off
manually.
To
reactivate
high-beam
assistance,
press
the
button
on
the
turn
indicator
lever.
Deactivating

limits
High-beam
assistance
cannot
replace
the
drivj
er's
own
judgement

crossing
the

when

crossing
traffic

the
view
of
oncoming
vehicles

a
motorway
is

better
illumination
of
the
road
surface.

When
high-beam
headlights
are
switched
on,

ser
high-beam
headlight
is
switched
on
automatj ically
in
addition
to
LED
high-beam
headlightfrom
a
speed
of
approximately
60
km/h,
37
mph.
Depending
on
the
national-market
version,
the
laser
warning
label
on
the
headlight
may
contain
additional
information.
Fog
lights
Rear
fog

The

must

switched

before

rear
fog
light
can

activated.
