Concept
The
low
beams
are
switched
on
and
off
automat#j ically
depending
on
the
ambient
brightness,
for
example
in
tunnels,
in
twilight
or
if
there
is
pre#j
cipitation.
General
information
A
blue
sky
with
the
sun
low
on
the
horizon
can
cause
the
lights
to
be
switched
on.

limits
The
automatic
headlight
control
cannot
serve
as

substitute
for
your

steering
angle
and

headlight

To
avoid
blinding
oncoming
traffic,
the
AdaptiveLight
Control
does
not
swivel
to
the
opposite
lane
when
the
vehicle
is
at
a
standstill.
Cornering
light
In
tight
curves,
for
instance
on
mountainous roads
or
when
turning,
an
additional,
corneringlight
is
switched
on
that
lights
up
the
inside
of
the
curve
when
the
vehicle
is
moving
below
a
certain
speed.
The
cornering
light
is
automatically
switched
on
depending
on
the
steering
angle
or,
where
appli#j cable,
the
use
of
turn
signals.
When
driving
in
reverse,
the
cornering
lights
may be
automatically
switched
on
regardless
of
the
steering
angle.
Adaptive
headlight
rangecontrol
The
adaptive
headlight
range
control
feature
bal#jances
out
acceleration
and
braking
processes
as
well
as
the
vehicle
load
conditions
in
order
to avoid
dazzling
oncoming
traffic.
Illumination
of
the
road
is
optimized.
High-beam
Assistant
Concept
The
high-beam
Assistant
detects
other
traffic participants
early
on
and
automatically
switches
the
high
beams
on
or
off
depending
on
the
traffic
situation.
General
information The
high-beam
Assistant
ensures
that
the
high
beams
are
switched
on,
whenever
the
traffic
sit#j uation
allows.
In
the
low
speed
range,
the
highbeams
are
not
switched
on
by
the
system.
The
system
responds
to
light
from
oncomingtraffic
and
traffic
driving
ahead
of
you,
and
to
am#jbient
lighting,
for
instance
in
towns
and
cities.
The
high
beams
can
be
switched
on
and
off
manually
at
any
time.

Assistant
can

adjusted.
Safety
information
Warning
If
adjustments

made

the

blinded.
There
is
a
risk
of
accident.
If
adjustments
have
been
made
and
the
sensi#j
tivity
has
been
modified,
make
sure
that

coming
traffic
is
not
momentarily
blinded. Switch
off
the
high
beams
manually
if
required.
Functional
requirements
The
setting
can
only
be
performed
when
the
ve#j
hicle
is
stationary.
The
drive-ready
state
must
be
switched
on
and
the
light
must
be
turned
off.
Adjusting
the

The
range
of
the
high
beams
is
increased
and
ensures
an
even
better
illumination
of
the
road.

the

beams

switched-on,
starting
with
a
speed
of
approx.
37
mph/60
km/h,
the
la#j
ser
high
beams
in
the
headlight
are
automatically
switched
on
in
addition
to
the
LED
high
beams.
