Follow
the
following
when
refueling
General
information
Follow
the
fuel
recommendation
prior
to
refuel#j
ing.
To
also
ensure
all
engine
functions
under
unfav#j
orable
conditions,
for
instance
steep
vehicle
incli#j
nations,
at
least
3
US
gal/10
liters
fuel
should
be
refueled.
When
refueling,
insert
the
filler
nozzle
completely
into
the
filler
pipe.
Lifting
up
the
fuel
pump
nozzle
during
refueling
causes:
'xPremature
switching
off.'xReduced
return
of
the
fuel
vapors.
The
fuel
tank
is
full
when
the
filler
nozzle
clicks
off
the
first
time.
Make
sure
that
the
fuel
cap
is
closed
properly
af#j
ter
refueling,
otherwise
the
emissions
warning
light
may
light
up.
Follow
safety
regulations
posted
at
the
gas
sta#j
tion.

charging

The
vehicle

fuel
tank
as
a
result
of
gasoline
vapors;
this
pressure
is
dissi#j
pated
before
the
fuel
cap
is
opened.
Overview
The
button
is
located
in
the
storage
compart#j
ment
of
the
driver's
door.
Venting
the
tank
1.Switch
off
drive-ready
state.2.

Press
the
button
to
start
the
pressure
equalization.
The
tank
venting
status
is
displayed
in
the
in#j
strument
cluster.
In
rare
cases,
tank
venting
can
last
several
minutes.
When
tank
venting
has
finished,
a
message
is
displayed
in
the
instrument
cluster.
The
fuel
filler
flap
is
released
for
opening.
3.Open
the
fuel
filler
flap.
If
it
is
not
possible
to
open
the
fuel
filler
flap
after
tank
venting,
press
the
button
again.
If
it
is
still
not
possible
to
open
the
fuel
filler
flap
even
after
pressing
the
button
again,
un#j
lock
the
fuel
filler
flap
manually.

Fuel
cap
Opening
Before
opening,
vent
the
tank.
1.To
open
the
fuel
filler
flap,
press
on
the
rear
edge,
arrow.
The
fuel
filler
flap
opens.
2.Turn
the
fuel
cap
counterclockwise.3.Place

fuel
cap
in
the
bracket
attached
to
the
fuel
filler
flap.

cap

turn
it
clockwise
until
you
clearly
hear
a
click.

the
fuel
filler
flap
until

engages.
Emergency
unlocking
It
may
be
necessary
in
certain
situations
to
un#j
lock
the
fuel
filler
flap
manually,
for
instance
with
an
electrical
fault.
The
release
is
located
in
the
cargo
area.
1.Remove
the
cover
on
the
right
side
trim.2.Pull
the
green
knob
with
the
fuel
pump
sym#j
bol.
This
silently
releases
the
fuel
filler
flap.
3.To
open
the
fuel
filler
flap,
press
on
the
rear
edge,
arrow.
The
fuel
filler
flap
opens.
4.Carefully
open
the
fuel
cap.
Excess

The

influence

A
tire
with
too
little
or
no
tire
inflation
pressure
may
heat
up
significantly
and
sustain
damage.

will
have
a
negative
impact
on
aspects
of
handling,

steering
and
braking

sponse.
There
is
a
risk
of
accident.
Regularly
check
the
tire
inflation
pressure,
and
correct
it
as
needed,
for
instance
twice
a
month
and

fore
a
long
trip.

inflation

table,
refer
to

contains
all
tire
inflation
pressure
specifications

the
specified
tire
sizes
at
the
ambient
temperature.
The
tire
inflation
pressure
values
apply
to
tire
sizes
approved
by
the
manu#j
facturer
of
the
vehicle
for
the
vehicle
type.
To
identify
the
correct
tire
inflation
pressure,
please
note
the
following:

The

the

be
stored
in
the
system
and
must
have
been
set
for
the
mounted
tires.
The

Checking
the
tire
inflation
pressure
General
information
Tires
heat
up
while
driving.
The
tire
inflation
pressure
increases
with
the
tire
temperature.
Tires
have
a
natural,
consistent
loss
of
tire
infla#j
tion
pressure.
The
displays
of
inflation
devices
may
under-read
by
up
to
0.1
bar/2
psi.

Checking
using
tire
inflation
pressure
specifications
in
the
tire
inflation
pressure
table
1.Determine
the
intended
tire
inflation
pressure
levels
for
the
mounted
tires.
2.Check
the
tire
inflation
pressure
in
all
four
tires,
using
a
pressure
gage,
for
example.
3.Correct
the
tire
inflation
pressure
if
the
actual
tire
inflation
pressure
deviates
from
the

tended
tire
inflation
pressure.
4.Check
whether
all
valve
caps
are
screwed
onto
the
tire
valves.
