Coolant temperature
If the needle is positioned before the red
zone: normal operation.
In arduous conditions of use or hot climatic
conditions, the needle may move close to the
red graduations.
What to do if the needle goes into the red
zone:
F

s
low down the vehicle or let the engine idle. What to do if the warning lamp lights up:
F

s
top immediately, switch off the ignition. The
fan may continue to operate for a certain
time up to approximately ten minutes,
F
w
ait for the engine to cool down in order
to check the coolant level and top it up if
necessary.
Since the cooling system is under pressure,
follow these instructions to avoid any risk of
burns:
F
w
ait at least one hour after the engine stops
to intervene,
F
u
nscrew the cap by 1/4 of a turn to allow the
pressure to drop,
F
w
hen the pressure has dropped, check the
level in the expansion bottle,
F
i
f necessary, remove the cap to top up.
If the needle remains in the red zone, have
it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or by a
qualified workshop.

If you do not press the button, there is a risk of
damaging the key's mechanism.Take care not to allow the remote control
to come into contact with grease, dust,
rain or a humid environment.
A heavy object attached to the key (key
ring, etc.) could weigh down on the shaft
of the key in the ignition switch, which may
cause a malfunction.

Fuel
Low fuel level
When the low fuel level is reached
this warning lamp comes on.
When it first comes on, around 8
  litres remain
in the tank, according to your driving style and
your engine.
You must refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out.
Never continue to drive until you run out of fuel,
as this could damage the emission control and
injection systems.
Filling
The fuel tank must be filled with the engine
off. When filling the fuel tank, do not continue after
the 3
rd cut-off of the nozzle. This could cause
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is approximately
60

litres (53 litres for BlueHDi Diesel versions).
F

A
fter filling the fuel tank, lock the cap and
close the flap.
When refilling, a mechanical
system prevents opening of
the left side door. Ensure
that nobody attempts to slide
open this door while the fuel
flap is open.
After closing the flap, the
sliding side door can become
blocked. Push the door to
close it and then open it.
When refilling, ensure that
nobody attempts to open the
sliding side door while the
fuel filler flap is open.
F

O
pen the fuel filler flap.
F

I
nsert the key and turn it a quarter turn.
F

R
emove the filler cap and hook it onto the
clip located on the inside of the filler flap.
A label inside the fuel filler flap reminds you of
the type of fuel to use.
At least 5

litres of fuel must be added in order
to be registered by the fuel gauge.
Opening the filler cap may create a noise
caused by an inrush of air. This is entirely
normal and results from the sealing of the fuel
system.

Manual gearbox
The gearbox does not require any
maintenance (no oil change).
Only use products recommended by
PEUGEOT or products of equivalent
quality and specification.
In order to optimise the operation of
components as important as those in the
braking system, PEUGEOT selects and
offers very specific products.
AdBlue® (BlueHDi
engines)
SCR system
Using a fluid called AdBlue® that contains
urea, a catalytic converter turns up to 85%
of nitrogen oxide (NOx) into nitrogen and
water, which are harmless to health and the
environment. The AdBlue
® is contained in a special tank with
a capacity of around 17 litres. An alert system
is triggered automatically once the reser ve
level is reached: you can then drive for a further
1,500

miles (2,400 km) before the tank is
emptied completely.
To respect the environment and ensure
compliance with the Euro 6 standard, without
adversely affecting the per formance or fuel
consumption of its Diesel engines, PEUGEOT
has taken the decision to equip its vehicles
with a system that associates SCR (Selective
Catalytic Reduction) with a Diesel particle filter
(DPF) for the treatment of exhaust gases. Once the AdBlue
® tank is empty, a system
r
equired by regulations prevents starting
of the engine.
If the SCR

system is faulty, the level of
emissions from your vehicle will no longer
meet the Euro 6 standard: your vehicle
becomes polluting.
In the event of a confirmed fault with the
SCR system, you must go to a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop as soon
as possible: after a running distance of
685

miles (1,100

km), a system will be
triggered automatically to prevent engine
starting.
In either case, a range indicator gives you
the distance you can travel before the
vehicle is immobilised.
For more information on the Warning
and indicator lamps and the associated
alerts, refer to the corresponding section.
After washing the vehicle, dampness, or
in wintry conditions, ice can form on the
brake discs and pads: braking efficiency
may be reduced. Make light brake
applications to dry and defrost the brakes.

Procedure
Before topping up, ensure that the vehicle is
parked on a flat and level sur face.
In wintry conditions, ensure that the
temperature of the vehicle is above -11°C.
Otherwise the AdBlue
® may be frozen and
so cannot be poured into its tank. Park your
vehicle in a warmer area for a few hours to
allow the top-up to be carried out. F

O
 btain an AdBlue
® container or bottle. After
first checking the use-by date, read the
instructions on the label carefully before
pouring the contents of the container or
bottle into your vehicle's AdBlue tank.
Or
F

I
nsert the AdBlue
® pump nozzle and refill
the tank until the nozzle stops automatically.
Important:
-

T
o avoid over flowing the AdBlue
® tank,
i
t is recommended:
•

T
o top up between 10 and 13

litres
using AdBlue
® containers or bottles.
Or
•

T
hat you stop after the nozzle’s first
automatic cut-out if you are refilling
at a ser vice station.
-
 I
f your vehicle's AdBlue
® tank is
completely empty – which is confirmed
by the alert messages and the
impossibility of starting the engine –
you must add at least 5

litres. Impor tant: when topping up after
a breakdown due to running out
of AdBlue,
you must wait for at least
5 minutes before switching on the
ignition, opening the driver's door,
unlocking the vehicle or inser ting the
key in the switch.
Switch on the ignition, then after a
minimum of 10 seconds, start the engine.
F

W
ith the vehicle unlocked, open the fuel
filler flap; the blue filler cap for the AdBlue
®
tank is located to the left of the black fuel
filler cap.
F

T
urn the blue cap 1/6 of a turn anti-
clockwise.
F

R
 emove the blue cap.
