rearmost
position
to
facilitate
assembly

Third
row

seats
Before
installing
a
child
restraint
system
on
the
third
row
of
seats,
note
the
following:'xRoll
up
the
cargo
cover
and
remove
the
case.'xDepending
on
the
equipment
version:
lower the
electric
cargo
cover.'xRemove
the
cargo
area
partition
net.'xBring
seats
and
backrests
of
the
second
rowof
seats
into
the
most
forward
position.'xFold
down
the
respective
backrest
of
the
second
row
of
seats
and
lock.'xRaise
the
head
restraints
of
the
third
row
of
seats
into
the
highest
position.
Do
not
change
the
settings
that
have
been
made after
this.
On
the
front
passenger
seat Deactivating
airbags
Warning
Active
front-seat
passenger
airbags
can
injure
a
child

a
child
restraint
system
when
the

are
activated.
There

a
risk

injury.Make
sure
that

front-seat
passenger

are
deactivated
and
that
the

GER
AIRBAG
OFF

Before
installing
a
child
restraint
system
in
the
front
passenger
seat,
make
sure
that
the
front,
knee
and
side
airbags
on
the
front
passenger side
are
deactivated.

Seat
position
and
height
Before
installing
a
child
restraint
system,
move
the
front
passenger
seat
as
far
back
as
it
will
go
and,
if
possible,
bring
it
up
to
medium
height.
This
seat
position
and
height
ensure
the
best possible
position
for
the
belt
and
offers
optimalprotection
in
the
event
of
an
accident.
If
the
upper
anchor
of
the
safety
belt
is
located
in
front
of
the
belt
guide
of
the
child
seat,
move
the
front
passenger
seat
carefully
forward
until
the best
possible
belt
guide
position
is
reached.
Backrest
width
Adjustable
backrest
width:
before
installing
a
child
restraint
system
in
the
front
passenger
seat,
open
the
backrest
width
completely.
Do
not
change
the
backrest
width
again
and
do
not
call
up
a
memory
position.
Child
seat
security
The
safety
belts
in
the
rear
and
the
front
passen#j
ger
safety
belt
can
be
permanently
locked
to
fas#j
ten
child
restraint
systems.
Locking
the
safety
belt

strap
