the
fo llowing conditions are me t:
R you brake theve hicle toast andstill in trans‐
mission position 005Bor005C.
R if all vehicle conditions for an auto matic
engine stop are met.
The 00D6 symbol appears in the multifunction
display when theve hicle is stationar y.
The engine is restar ted automatically if:
R youre lease the brake pedal in transmission
position 005Bwhen the HOLD function is not
active.
R you shift from transmission position 005D.
R you en gage transmission position 005Bor005E.
R you depress the accelera tor pedal.
R youch ange theve hicle le vel.
R you open or close the soft top.
R an automatic engine start is necessar y.
If th e engine was switched off bythe ECO start/
st op function and you lea vetheve hicle, a warn‐
ing tone sounds. The Vehicle Operational Switch the Ignition Off Before Exiting

do not switch off the ignition, the ignition is
automatically switched off af ter one minute.

Initiate the next step within appr oximately
30 seconds. #

or 3 repeatedly until the door closes.

regulates the brake pressure in critical driv‐
ing situations:
R During braking, e.g. at full brake application
or insuf ficient tire traction, the wheels are
pr eve nted from lo cking.
R Vehicle steerability while braking is ensured.
If ABS inter venes when braking, you will feel a
pulsing in the brake pedal. The pulsating brake pedal can be an indication of hazardous
road
conditions and can ser veas a reminder totake
ex tra care while driving.

R ABS is active from speeds of appr ox. 5 mph
(8 km/h).
R ABS may be impaired or may not function if a
malfunction has occur red and theye l‐
