nction of the 360° Camera
The 360° Camera is a sy stem that consists of
fo ur cameras. The cameras co verth e immediate
ve hicle sur roundings. The sy stem assists you,
e.g. when parking or at exits with reduced visibil‐
ity.
The 360° Camera is only an aid. It is not a sub‐
st itute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The
responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that there
are no persons, animals or objects etc., in the
manoeuvring area while manoeuvring and park‐
ing.
The sy stem evaluates images from thefo llowing
cameras:
R Reversing camera
R Front camera
R Two side cameras in the outside mir rors

In trailer mode, the guide lines are shown at

The 360° Camera will not function or will only
partially function in thefo llowing situations:
R The doors are open.
R The side mir rors are folded in.
R The tailgate is open.
R There is heavy rain, snow or fog.
R The light conditions are poor, e.g. at night.
R The camera lens is obstructed, dirty or mis‐
ted up.
R Cameras, or vehicle components in which
th e cameras are fitted, are dama ged. In this
eve nt, ha vethe cameras, their positions and th
eir setting checked at a qualified specialist
wo rkshop.
% Do not use the 360° Camera under such cir‐
cums tances. You could otherwise injure oth‐
ers or collide with objects when parking the
ve hicle.
If th eve hicle is car rying a heavy load, leaving the
st andard height can result in inaccuracies in the
guide lines and in the display of thege nerated
ima ges, depending on tech nical conditions.

nction of Active Parking Assist
Ac tive Parking Assist is an elect ronic pa rking
assis tance sy stem which uses ultrasound and is
automatically activated during forw ard tra vel.
The sy stem is operational at speeds of up to
appr oximately 35 km/h. When all the conditions
are fulfilled, the symbol appears in
the
multifunction display of the Instrument Display
and the sy stem automatically sear ches for and
measu res parking spaces on bo thsides of the
ve hicle parallel and perpendicular tothe direc‐
tion of tra vel. If Active Parking Assist is activa‐
te d, de tected pa rking spaces are shown in the
display of the multimedia sy stem. The appears on
the multifunction display of the
Instrument Displa y.The ar rows show on which
side of thero ad free parking spaces are located. The parking space and, if necessar
y,the parking
direction can be selected as desired. Active
Pa rking Assist calculates a suitable vehicle path,
activates the turn signal indicator and assists
yo u in parking and exiting the parking space.
Ac tive Parking Assist supports bychanging gear,
accelerating, braking and steering theve hicle.
Ac tive Parking Assist is only an aid. It is not a
substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that no
persons, animals or objects etc. are in the
manoeuvring range.
Ac tive Parking Assist will be cancelled in thefo l‐
lowing situations:

stem limitations of Active Parking Assist
Objects located abo veor below the de tection
ra nge of Active Parking Assist are not de tected
when the parking space is being measured.
These are also not take n into account when the
parking manoeuvre is calculated, e.g. overhang‐
ing loads, overhangs or loading ramp s of lor ries
or the boundaries of parking spaces. In some cir‐
cums tances, Active Parking Assist may therefore
guide you into the parking space prematurely. &
WARNING Risk of accident due to
objects located abo veor below the
de tection range of Active Parking Assist
If th ere are objects abo veor below the
de tection range, thefo llowing situations may
arise:
R Active Parking Assist may steer too ear ly.
R The vehicle may not stop in front of these
objects.
This could cause a collision. #
Inthese situations, do not use Active
Pa rking Assist. Sn
owfa ll or heavy rain may lead toa parking
space being measured inaccuratel y.Pa rking
spaces that are partial lyoccupied bytrailer
dr aw bars might not be identified as such or be
measured incor rectly. Only use Active Parking
Assist on le vel, high-grip ground.
Do not useActive Parking Assist in thefo llowing
situations:
R The weather conditions are extreme, e.g. ice,
pa cked snow or heavy rain.
R Ifyo u are transpo rting a load that pr otru des
be yond theve hicle.
R Ifth e parking space is on a steep downhill or
uphill gradient.
R Ifyo u ha veinstalled snow chains.
Ac tive Parking Assist may also display parking
spaces that are not suitable for parking, e.g.
parking spaces in which parking is not permitted
or parking spaces on unsuitable sur faces.
Ac tive Parking Assist does not pr ovide assis‐
ta nce for parking spaces perpendicular tothe
direction of tra vel,fo r ins tance when two pa rk‐
ing spaces are direct lynext toeach other or the parking space is directly next
toa low obs tacle
su ch as a kerb.
Ac tive Parking Assist does not pr ovide assis‐
ta nce for parking spaces parallel or perpendicu‐
lar tothe direction of tra vel,fo r ins tance when
th e parking space is on a kerb or the parking
space is bordered byan obs tacle, e.g. a tree, a
post or a traile r.

% You can stop theve hicle and change the
transmission position du ring the parking pro‐
cedure. The sy stem then calculates a new
ve hicle path. The parking procedure can
th en be continued. If no new vehicle path is
av ailable, the transmission position will be
ch anged again. If theve hicle has not yet
re ached the parking space, the parking pro‐
cedure will be cancelled, should a gear be
ch anged.
