Malfunction
Use the cruise control only where the
driving conditions allow running at a
constant speed and at an adequate safe
distance for a period of time.
Do not activate the cruise control in urban
areas, in heavy traffic, on winding or steep
roads, on slippery or flooded roads, or in
conditions of poor visibility (heavy rain,
fog, falling snow, etc.).
In some circumstances, it may not be
possible to maintain or even reach the
cruise speed set: towing, vehicle heavily
loaded, steep climb. The use of mats not approved by
CITROËN may inter fere with the operation
of the cruise control.
To avoid any risk of jamming the pedals:
-
e
nsure that the mat is positioned
c o r r e c t l y,
-
n
ever fit one mat on top of another.
Flashing dashes indicate a fault with the cruise
control system.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop. This system provides the following
functions:
- A utomatically maintains the vehicle
at the speed set by the driver.
-
A
utomatic adjustment of the
distance between your vehicle and
the one in front.
The cruise control remains active after
changing gear regardless of the gearbox
type.
It manages the acceleration and deceleration
of the vehicle by automatically acting on the
engine and the braking system.
Adaptive cruise control
With an automatic gearbox, automatic
adjustment of the distance can cause your
vehicle to come to a complete stop. For this purpose there is a camera located at
the top of the windscreen.
Principle of operation
The system automatically adapts the speed of
your vehicle to that of the vehicle in front, to
maintain a constant distance.
If the vehicle in front is driving more slowly, the
system slows, or even stops your vehicle, using
engine braking and the braking system (for
versions fitted with an automatic gearbox).
If the vehicle in front accelerates or changes
lane, the cruise control progressively
accelerates your vehicle to return to the
programmed speed.
If the driver operates a direction indicator to
overtake a slower vehicle, the cruise control
allows your vehicle to temporarily approach
the vehicle in front to assist the overtaking
manoeuvre, though never exceeding the
programmed speed.Primarily designed for driving on main
roads and motor ways, this system only
works on moving vehicles
, driving in the
same direction as your vehicle.
Driving
162
During a correction, if the driver is inactive
(not holding the steering wheel for
10 seconds), a warning message appears.
If the driver remains inactive (not holding
the steering wheel for 2
more seconds),
the correction is interrupted.Risk of undesirable operation
Deactivation of the system is recommended in
the following situations:
-
d
riving on a road sur face in poor condition,
-
u
nfavourable climatic conditions,
-
d
riving on slippery sur faces (ice).

Operating limits
The system goes into standby automatically in
the following cases:
-
E
SC deactivated or operation triggered,
-
s
peed below 40 mph (65 km/h) or greater
than 112
mph (180 km/h),
-
c
onnected electrically to a trailer,
-
u
se of the "space-saver" spare
wheel detected (as detection is not
immediate, deactivation of the system is
recommended),
-
d
ynamic driving style detected, pressure on
the brake or accelerator pedal,
-
d
riving where there are no lane markings,
-
a
ctivation of the direction indicators,
-
c
rossing the inside line on a bend,
-
d
riving in a tight corner,
-
i
nactivity by the driver detected during
correction. The system is not intended for driving in the
following situations:
-
d riving on a speed circuit,
-
d
riving with a trailer,
-
d
riving on a rolling stand,
-
d
riving on unstable sur faces.
In the event of a fault with the system, you are
alerted by the illumination of these warning
lamps in the instrument panel, accompanied by
the display of a message and an audible signal.
Have the system checked by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop.
This driving assistance system warns the driver
of the presence of another vehicle in the blind
The following situations may interfere with
the operation of the system or prevent it
from working:
-
c
onditions of poor visibility (inadequate
street lighting, snowfall, rain, fog),
-
d
azzle (headlamps of an oncoming
vehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp
road, leaving a tunnel, alternating
shade and light),
-

camera: dirty, misted, frost-covered,
snow-covered, damaged or covered by

-
l
ane markings worn, hidden (snow,
mud) or multiple (roadworks, etc.),
-
r
unning close to the vehicle in front
(the lane markings may not be
detected),
-
r
oads that are narrow, winding, etc.
Driving

The following situations may interfere with
the operation of the system or prevent it
from working:
-
p
oor visibility (inadequate lighting of
the roadway, falling snow, heavy rain,
dense fog, etc.),
-
d
azzle (headlamps of an oncoming
vehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp
road, leaving a tunnel, alternating

snow-covered, damaged or covered by
a s t i c ke r,
-

ane markings absent, worn, hidden
(snow, mud) or multiple (roadworks,
e t c .),
-
c
lose to the vehicle ahead (lane
markings not detected),
-
r
oads that are narrow, winding, etc. Clean the windscreen regularly,
particularly the area in front of the camera.
The internal sur face of the windscreen can
also become misted around the camera.
In humid and cold weather, demist the
windscreen regularly.
Do not allow snow to accumulate on the
bonnet or roof of the vehicle as this could
conceal the detection camera.
In certain driving conditions (poor road
sur face or strong winds), the system may
give alerts independent of the driver's
level of vigilance.
After three first level alerts, the system triggers
a new alert with the message "
Take a break!",
accompanied by a more pronounced audible
signal.
Parking sensors
This function is a manoeuvring aid which
cannot, in any circumstances, replace the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.
The driver must remain attentive and stay
in control of their vehicle.
They must always check the vehicle’s
surroundings before undertaking a
manoeuvre.
During the entire manoeuvre, the driver
must ensure that the space remains clear.
Using sensors located in the bumper, this
function warns of the proximity of obstacles
(e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, tree, barrier) entering
their field of detection.
Rear parking sensors
The system is switched on by engaging reverse
g e a r.
This is confirmed by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you come out
of reverse gear.
Audible assistance
The function signals the presence of obstacles
present both within the sensors’ detection
zone and in the vehicle path defined by the
orientation of the steering wheel.
