formationifthey haveaccesstothevehicleorthe
EDR.
Somestatelawsrestricttheretrievalordown-
loadingofdatastoredbyEDRsinstalledinavehi-
clefortheexpresspurposeofretrievingdataaf-
teranaccidentorcrasheventwithouttheown-

orgiveittoothers-
—unlessthevehicleowner(orlesseeifthevehi-
clehasbeenleased)agrees; or
