strumentillumination(needlesandgauges)
mayturnonwhenthelightsareoffandthe
ignitionisswitchedon.Theilluminationfor
thegaugesreducesautomaticallyandeven-
tuallyturnsoffasbrightnessoutsidein-
creases.Thisfunctionremindsthedriverto
turnthelowbeamsonattheappropriate
time.

fectofthecoolant.Thisincreasestheriskof
theengineoverheatingduringhighoutside
temperatures andheavyengineload.

Tachometer
Thetachometerdisplaystheenginespeedinrev-
olutionsperminute(RPM).
Thebeginningoftheredzoneinthetachometer
indicatesthemaximumpermissibleenginespeed
forallgearsoncetheenginehasbeenbrokenin
andwhenitiswarmeduptooperatingtempera-
ture.Before reachingthiszone,youshouldshift
intothenexthighestgear,selectthe"D/S"selec-
torleverposition,orremoveyourfootfromthe
acceleratorpedal.
