Operating the power windows
All power windows can be operated using the control panel in the driver's door. The controlpanels in the other doors can be used to oper-ate that particular door.
The power windows have pinch protection. If there is any problem with the pinch protection, arest procedure can be tested.

Operating the power windows.
Operating manually. Move one of the controls slightly up or down. The power windows goup or down while the control is held in posi-tion.
Operating with automatic controls. Move one of the controls up or down to its end positionand release it. The window moves automati-cally to its fully closed/open position.
To use the power windows, the ignition must be in at least mode I or II. After the ignition has
been switched off, the power windows can be operated for several minutes or until a door isopened. Only one control panel can be operatedat a time. It can also be operated using keyless opening *
with the door handle.

WARNING
Make sure that no child or other passenger comes into contact with the windows as they are closing with keyless closing *.
NOTE
One way to reduce the pulsating wind noise heard when the rear windows are open is toalso open the front windows slightly.
NOTE
The windows cannot be opened at speeds over approx. 180 km/h (ca112 mph), but theycan be closed. The driver is always responsible for following applicable traffic regulations.

Rearview/door mirrors
The rearview mirror and door mirrors can be used to improve the driver's visibility behind thevehicle.
Rearview mirrorThe rearview mirror can be easily adjusted man- ually. The rearview mirror can be equipped with HomeLink *, auto-dim * and compass *.
Door mirrors
WARNING
The door mirror on the passenger side is curved to improve visibility. Objects in the mir-ror may appear farther away than they actuallyare.
The joystick in the drivers' door control panel is used to adjust the position of the door mirrors.There are also several automatic settings thatcan also be connected to the memory function buttons for the power seat *.

Panoramic roof *
The panoramic roof is divided into two glass sections. The front section can be opened verti-cally at the rear edge (ventilation position) or hor-izontally (open position). The rear section cannotbe moved. The panoramic roof has a wind deflector and sun curtain made of perforated fabric (locatedbeneath the glass sections) for extra protectionin e.g. bright sunlight.
The panoramic roof and sun curtain are operated using the controls in the ceiling. It can also be operated using keyless opening *
with the door handle. To operate the panoramic roof and sun curtain, the ignition must be in mode I or II.

CAUTION
Check that the panoramic roof is properly closed when closing.
The movement of the roof will stop if the control is released during manual operation or when the glass has reached the comfort 4
or fully open/
closed position. The movement of both the pan- oramic roof and the sun curtain is also stopped ifthe control in the ceiling is operated again in the direction opposite that of the current direction ofmovement. The panoramic roof and sun curtain are also equipped with pinch protection.
NOTE
For manual opening, the sun curtain must be completely open before the panoramic roofcan be opened. For the reverse procedure,the panoramic roof must be completelyclosed before the sun curtain can be com-pletely closed.

Manual front seats The power front seats can be adjusted in a num- ber of different ways for optimal comfort andergonomics.
Raise/lower the front edge of the seat cush- ion * by moving the control up/down. 1
Change the length of the seat cushion
* by
pulling up the lever and moving the cushion forward/backward.
Move the seat forward/backing by lifting the handle and moving the seat to a suitable dis-tance from the steering wheel and pedals.Check to make sure the seat is securelylocked into place after its setting has beenchanged.
Adjust lumbar support * by pressing the but-
ton up/down/forward/rearward.
Raise/lower the seat by moving the control up/down.
Change the backrest tilt by turning the knob on the backrest.
WARNING
• Do not adjust the seat while driving. The seat should be adjusted so that the drivercan comfortably reach and operate thepedals and gear selector.
After adjusting the seat, make sure that it is securely locked into position before startingto drive.

Using stored memory in a poweredfront seat
The memory function can be used to store the settings for the seat, door mirrors and head-up display *.
Using a stored positionA stored position can be used with the front door open or closed:
Front door open
–Briefly press one of the memory buttons ( 1
or 2). The seat, door mirrors and head-up
display will move and stop at the positions stored in that button.
Front door closed
–Press and hold one of the memory buttons ( 1 or 2) until the seat, door mirrors and
head-up display stop in the positions stored in that memory button.
If the memory button is released, the seat, doormirrors and head-up display will stop moving.
WARNING
• Because the front seats can be adjusted with the ignition off, children should neverbe left unattended in the vehicle.
• Movement of the seat can be STOPPEDat any time by pressing any button on thepower seat control panel.
• Do not adjust the seat while driving.
• The seat should be adjusted so that thebrake pedal can be depressed fully. Inaddition, position the seat as far rearwardas comfort and control allow.
• The seat rails on the floor must not beobstructed in any way when the seat is inmotion.

Folding down the rear seatbackrests
The rear seat backrest is split into two sections. The two sections can be folded forward individu-ally.
WARNING
• Adjust the seat and ensure it locks into position before driving. Use caution whenadjusting the seat. Uncontrolled or care-less adjustments could lead to injury.
• Long objects must always be securelytied down to help prevent injury or dam-age in the event of sudden braking.
• Always turn off the engine and apply theparking brake when loading or unloadingthe vehicle.
• Put the gear selector in
P to help prevent
the gear selector from being inadvertentlymoved.
CAUTION
When the backrest is folded down, make sure there are no objects in the rear seat, and theseat belts are not buckled. Otherwise there isa risk of damage to the upholstery.
CAUTION
The armrest * in the center seat must be
raised before the seat backrest is folded down. If the vehicle has private locking, the ski hatch must be closed before the seat backrest isfolded down.
NOTE
The front seats may need to be pushed for- ward and/or the backrest adjusted so that therear seat backrests can be fully lowered.

Folding down the backrests
Models with the electric backrest fold-down
function
On models equipped with the electric fold-down function*, the buttons for folding down the rear
seat backrests are located in the cargo compart- ment. The backrests can also be folded downmanually.
WARNING
Before using the electric fold-down function, be sure that no one is sitting in or is near therear seat, that there are no objects on the rearseat and that the backrest is not obstructed inany way.
The vehicle must be stationary and the tailgate must be open before a backrest can be foldeddown. To fold down the backrests electrically:
1. Make sure that the rear seat is unoccupied
and that there are no objects on the seat.
2. Fold down the center seat's head restraint manually.
3. Press and hold one of the electric fold-down buttons. The buttons are marked L (left back-
rest section) and R (right backrest section).
4. The backrest will fold down automatically to the horizontal position. The head restraint will also fold down automatically.
To fold down the backrest manually:
1. Fold down the center head restraint manually
.
2. Pull the handle in the vehicle's left or right backrest forward
. 3. The backrest lock will release and the back-
rest will automatically fold down to the hori- zontal position.
