If contact is made with ar oof carrier approved
by Mercedes-Benz, the sliding sunroof lowers
slightly but remains raise datt he rear.
Rain-closing feature The rain-closing feature is only available for vehi-
cles with ar ain sensor.
When the SmartKey is in position Z in the igni-
tion lock or is removed, the sliding sunroof
closes automatically: R
if it starts to rain. R
at extreme outsid et emperatures.R
after six hours. R
if there is am alfunction in the powe rs upply.
The panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding panel
remains raise datt he rear in order to allow ven-
tilation of the vehicle interior.
If the panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding
panel is obstructed whil eb eing closed by the
rain-closing feature, it opens again slightly. The
rain-closing feature is then deactivated.
The panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding panel
does not close if: R
it is raise datt he rear.R
it is blocked. R
no rain is falling on the area of the windshield
being monitored by the rain sensor. If the
vehicle ,f or example ,isu nder ab ridge or in a
carport, the field of the sensor may be cov-
ered.

Important safety notes
G WARNING
Parts of the body could become trapped
betwee nt he rolle rs unblind and frame or slid-
ing sunroof during automatic opening or clos-
ing. There is ar isk of injury.
When opening or closing, make sure that no
body parts are in the sweep of the rolle rs un-
blind. If somebod yb ecomes trapped: R
release the switch immediately ,o rR
during automatic operation, push the
switch briefl yina ny direction
The opening or closing procedure wil lbes top-
ped.
The rolle rs unblind shields the vehicle interior
from sunlight. The rolle rs unblind can only be
opened and closed when the panorama roof
with powe rt ilt/sliding panel is closed.
Rolle rs unblind reversin gf eatureThe rolle rs unblind is equipped with an auto-
matic reversing feature. If as olid object blocks
or restricts the rolle rs unblind during the closing
process, the rolle rs unblind opens again auto-
matically. The automatic reversing feature is
only an aid and is not as ubstitute for you ra tten-
tiveness when closing the rolle rs unblind.
G WARNING
The reversing feature does not react: R
to soft, ligh ta nd thin objects, e.g. small fin-
gers R
when closing the rolle rs unblind again man-
ually immediately after automatic reversal
This means that the reversing feature cannot
prevent someone being trapped in these sit-
uations. There is ar isk of injury.
When closing the rolle rs unblind, make sure
that no body parts are in the sweep area.
If somebod yb ecomes trapped: R
release the switch immediately ,o rR
press the switch in any direction during the
automatic closing process

Problems with the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel
G WARNING
If you do not reset the sliding sunroof after am alfunction or voltage supply interruption, then the
backing up function will malfunction or not work. The sliding sunroof closes with increased or
maximum force. Parts of the body could be trapped in the closing area in the process. This poses
an increased risk of injury or even fatal injury.
In such or similar situations always make sure that no parts of the body are in the closing area.
Always reset the sliding sunroof after am alfunction or voltage supply interruption.
! If the sliding sunroof still cannot be opened or closed as ar esult of am alfunction ,c ontact a
qualified specialist workshop.

Adjust the driver' ss eat, head restraint, steer-
ing whee la nd mirror and fasten you rs eat belt
before starting the engine.
G WARNING
If you adjust the seat height carelessly ,y ou or
other vehicl eo ccupants could be trappe da nd
thereby injured. Children in particular could
accidentally press the electrica ls eat adjust-
ment buttons and become trapped. There is a
risk of injury.
Whil em oving the seats, make sure that your
hands or other body parts do not get under the
lever assembly of the seat adjustment sys-
tem.
! To avoi dd amage to the seats and the seat
heating, observe the following information: R
keep liquid sf rom spilling on the seats. If
liquid is spilled on the seats, dry them as
soon as possible. R
if the seat covers are damp or wet, do not
switch on the seat heating. The seat heat-
ing should als on ot be used to dry the seats.R
clean the seat covers as recommended;
see the "Interior care" section. R
do not transport heavy loads on the seats.
Do not place sharp objects on the seat
cushions, e.g. knives, nail sort ools. The
seats should only be occupied by passen-
gers, if possible. R
when the seat heating is in operation, do
not cover the seats with insulating materi-
als ,e .g. blankets, coats, bags ,s eat covers,
child seats or booster seats. ! Make sure that there are no objects in the
footwel lu nder or behind the seats when mov-
ing the seats back. There is ar isk that the
seats and/or the objects could be damaged.

Using the fore-and-aft adjustment, adjust the
head restraint so that it is as close as possible to
your head.
General notes For vehicles with sports seats you cannot adjust
the front head restraints or the outer rear head
restraints.
Adjusting the head restraints manually Adjusting the head restraint height

To raise: pull the head restraint up to the
desired position. X
To lower: press release catch C in the direc-
tion of the arrow and push the head restraint
down to the desired position.
Adjusting the fore/aft position of the
head restraint With this function you can adjust the distance
between the head restraint and the back of the
seat occupant's head. X
To move forwards: pull the head restraint
forwards in the direction of the arrow until it
engages.
There are several notches. X
To move backwards: press and hold release
button C and push the head restraint back-
wards. X
When the head restraint is in the desired posi-
tion, release the button and make sure that
the head restraint is engaged in position.
Rear seat head restraints Adjusting the rear seat head restraint

the head restraint down until it is in the
