Do not place any accessories,
stickers or tint on the windshield.
Have the windshield glass
replaced from an authorized deal-
er.
Do not remove or impact related
parts of the Smart High Beam
system.
Be careful that water doesn't get
into the Smart High Beam unit.
Do not place objects on the dash-
board that reflects light such as
mirrors, white paper, etc. The sys-
tem may malfunction if sunlight
is reflected.
At times, the Smart High Beam
system may not work properly,
always check the road conditions
for your safety. When the system
does not operate normally, manu-
ally change between the high
beam and low beam.

Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer
to replace most vehicle light bulbs. It is
difficult to replace vehicle light bulbs
because other parts of the vehicle must
be removed before you can get to the
bulb. This is especially true for removing
the headlamp assembly to get to the
bulb(s).
Removing/installing the headlamp
assembly can result in damage to the
vehicle.
Information
After heavy driving, rain or washing,
headlamp and trunk lenses could appear
frosty. This condition is caused by the tem-
perature difference between the lamp
inside and the outside temperature. This is
similar to the condensation on your win-
dows inside your vehicle during the rain
and doesn ’t indicate a problem with your
vehicle. If the water leaks into the lamp
bulb circuitry, have your vehicle checked
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

the foot brake, move the shift
lever into P (Park) apply the park-
ing brake, place the igntion
switch to the LOCK/OFF position,
and take the key with you when
leaving the vehicle to avoid sud-
den movement of the vehicle and
to prevent possible electric
shock.
Be aware the bulbs may be hot
and may burn your fingers.

Handle halogen bulbs with care.
Halogen bulbs contain pressur-
ized gas that will produce flying
pieces of glass that could cause
injuries if broken.
Wear eye protection when chang-
ing a bulb. Allow the bulb to cool
down before handling it.

Headlamp (Low, HID type)
If the light bulb does not operate, have
the vehicle checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
Information
If your vehicle is equipped with High
Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps,
these headlamps contain mercury. So if
you need to have your vehicle disposed,
you should remove the HID Headlamps
before disposal. The removed HID head-
lamps should be recycled, re-used or dis-
posed as hazardous waste.
Information
HID lamps have superior performance vs.
halogen bulbs.
HID lamps are estimated by the manufac-
turer to last twice as long or longer than
halogen bulbs depending on their frequen-
cy of use. They will probably require
replacement at some point in the life of the
vehicle. Cycling the headlamps on and off
more than typical use will shorten HID
lamps life. HID lamps do not fail in the
same manner as halogen incandescent
lamps. If a headlamp goes out after a peri-
od of operation but will immediately
relight when the headlamp switch is cycled
it is likely the HID lamp needs to be
replaced. HID lighting components are
more complex than conventional halogen
bulbs thus have higher replacement cost.
