Head restraints
Front head restraints
Applies to: vehicles with adjustable head restraints

Adjust the head restraints so the upper edge is as
even as possible with the top of your head . If that
is not possible, try to adjust as close to this posi­
tion as possible .
Adjusting the head rest raints
.. To move the head restraint upward/forward,
hold it at the s ides with both hands and slide it
upward/forward until you feel it click into
place .
.. To move the head restraint downward/back­
ward , press the side button and slide the head
restraint downward/bac kward. Release the but­
ton and slide the head restraint farther until it
locks into place.

Rear head restraints

If passengers will be sitting in the rear seats,
move the head restraints in the second row all
the way up or fold up the head restraints on the
occupied third row seats¢_&.
Moving the head restraints

• Slide the posts on the head restraint dow n into
the guides until the posts click into place.

be able to remove the head restraint from the
backrest without pressing the button .

sta lling a child safety seat

Child safety.
Install the head restraint agai n
immediately once the child safety seat is re ­
moved. Driving with the head restraints re­
moved or not in the upr ight position in­
creases the risk of serious injury.
Memory function
Description
Applies to: vehicles with memory function
Using the memo ry function, you can qu ick ly and
eas ily store a pe rsonal seat profile for the driver
and recall the settings later. The memory func­
tion is controlled by the remote control key and
the memory buttons in the driver's door.
The drive r's seat profile is stored again and as­
signed to the remote contro l key each time the
vehicle is locked. When you open the door, the
seat profi le is automat ica lly reca lled . If two peo­
p le use the vehicle, it is recommended that each
person always uses their "own" remote control
key.
Two seat profiles can be stored each us ing the
~ memory buttons. Once they are stored, these

• If the driver's door is open and the ignit ion is
switched off, press the memory button.
• If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
switched on, press and hold the memory but­
ton until the seat adjustment is complete.
A WARNING
- For safety reasons, the seat setting can only
be recalled when the vehicle is stationary to
reduce the risk of an accident.
- In an emergency, seat adjustment operation
can be stopped by pressing the
!SETI button
or the buttons @or@

The cigarette lighter may be used as a power source for the tire mob ility kit/collaps ible spare

A WARNING
The c igarette lighter only works when the ig­
n ition is switched on. Incorrect usage can lead
to serious i njuries or burns . To reduce the risk
of injuries, never leave children unattended in
the vehicle with the vehicle key.
Power sources

When the ignition is sw itched on, you may be
able to use the elect ric power sources for exter­
nal devices, depending on the vehicle eq uipment.

ers (for example, made out of g lass or por­
celain). You could be injured by them in the
event of an accident.

Beverage containers in the cup holders should
a lways have a lid . If not, beverages could spill
and cause damage to vehicle equipment, such
electron ics or seat covers.
Cooled glove compartment

be in the upright position and locked into

third row*.

If Luggage or cargo is to be carr ied on the roof,
you must observe the follow ing:
- Only a specially designed roof rack may be used
on your vehicle . These roof racks a re the bas is
for a complete roof rack system . Additional at­
tachme nts/carr ier systems are necessary to
transpo rt luggage and spo rts equ ipment. We
recommend roof rac ks and a ttac hments from
the Audi Genuine Ac cessories program.
- When installing the roof rack, make su re that it
is mounted only at the des ignated po ints on
the roof

- Note the permitted axle load, permitted total
weigh t, and permitted roof Load of your veh icle
c::> page 3 76. The roof Load is the total of the
weight of the roof rack, the attachments and
the cargo you are carry ing. However, you must
also note the perm itted Load of the carrier sys­
tem being used.
A WARNING
- Follow the installation instructions prov ided
w ith the roof rack system . If yo u do not se­
cure the roof rack system and objects on the
roof co rrectly, they could come Loose from
the vehicle and ca use a n accident.
- The risk of an acc ident inc reases w hen usi ng
a roof rack system, bec ause it changes the
driving characte ris tics by shi fting the center
of grav ity and/or the inc reasing the surface
area exposed to w ind. You may need to

zation switches off if the settings are changed on
the front passenger's side or in the rear .
Vents
You can open or close the center and rear vents in
the cockpit and the vents in the rear center con ­
sole and door pi llars using the ridged thumb ­
wheels. The levers adjust the direction of th e air ­
f low from the vents.
Re sidu al heat
You can activate the residua l heat f unct ion when
the ignition is switched off by pressing the knob
@ Cleft side) . The residua l heat from the coolant
is used to heat the vehicle interior. The residual
heat function switches
off automatically after
about 15 minutes.
A WARNING
- You should not use the recirculation mode
for an extended per iod of t ime, because no
fresh a ir is draw n in and the w indows ca n
fog whe n coo ling mode is sw itched off. Th is
increases the risk of a n accide nt.
- Individua ls with reduced sensitivity to pain
o r temperat ure co ul d deve lop burns when

using the seat heating function . To red uce
the risk of in jury, these individua ls sho uld
not use seat heating.
@ Note
To avoid damage to the heating elements in
the seats, do not knee l on the seats o r place
heavy loads on a small area of the seat.
