II Air suspension: Vehicle too low Ground
clearance reduced
The ground clearance is very low due to a system
malfunct io n. Wait until the air suspens ion sys­
tem has restored normal ground clearance. Ot h­
erw ise, condit ions such as an uneven road s urface
can lead to vehicle damage.
& Brake booster
u Brake servo: limited functionality. You can
continue driving. Contact workshop
There is a malfunction in the brake booster. The
brake booster is available, but its effectiveness is
reduced. Braking behavior may be different from
how it normally functions and the brake pedal
may v ibrate.
Drive to an authorized Audi dea ler or authorized
Audi Service Facility immediately to have the
malfunction corrected.
f;.l fJ Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC)
If the bl indicator light blinks wh ile driving, the
ESC or ASR (Anti -Slip Regulation) is actively regu ­
lating .
If
the bl i ndicator light turns on, the system has
sw itched the ESC off. In this case, you can switch
the ignition off and then on to switch the ESC on
aga in . The indicator light turns off when the sys­
tem is funct ion ing fully.

If the bl indicator light and the ABS indicator

function in the ABS system or electronic differen ­
tia l lock. This also causes the ESC to malfunction.
The brakes still function with their normal power,
but ABS is not active.
Drive to an authorized Audi dealer or authorized
Audi Service Facility immediate ly to have the
malfunction corrected.
A WARNING
If the 1111 (USA models) ;II (Canada mod­
els) brake system indicator light turns on to­
gether with the ABS and ESC ind icator lights,
the ABS and ESC regulating function may
have malfunctioned . Funct ions that stabilize
the vehicle are no longer available. This co uld
cause the vehicle to swerve, which increases
the risk that the vehicle will slide. Drive care­
fu lly to the nearest authorized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility and have the
malfunction corrected.

cator light monitors the safety systems.
If the
II (USA models)/ m (Canada mode ls) in­
dicator light turns on or blinks, there is a mal­
function in a safety system such as the airbag or
belt tensioner system.

Audi Service Facility immediate ly to have the
malfunction corrected.
A WARNING
Have the malfunction in the safety systems
inspected immed iately. Otherwise, there is a
risk that the systems may not activate during
a collision, wh ich increases the risk of serious

Driver information system
In vehicles with an activated head-up display
c:::;, page 24, the shifting indicator is shown in
the head-up disp lay instead of the instrument
cluster .
© Engine oil temperature indicator
When engine oil temperatures are low, the dis­
p lay --- °F (- --°C) appears in the instrument clus ­
ter.
The engine has reached its operating tempera­
ture when the engine oil temperature is between
140 ° F (60 °C) and 248 °F (120 °C) under normal
driving conditions. The engine oil temperature
may be higher if there is heavy engine load and
high temperatures outside. Th is is not a cause for
concern as long as
the . c:::;, page 15 or II
c:::;, page 15 indicator lights in the display do not
blink .
Head-up display

The head-up display projects certa in warnings or
selected information from the assist systems* or

Display brightness
You can adjust the display brightness in the Info ­
tainment system. The display brightness decreas­

To prevent scratches on the glass covering the
head-up display, do not place any objects in
the projection opening.

-Sunglasses with polarization filters and un­

-Do not leave valuables unattended in the ve­
hicle . A locked vehicle is not a safe!
- The LED in the driver's door rail blinks when
you lock the vehicle . If the LED lights up for
approximately 30 seconds after locking,
there is a malfunction in the central locking
system. Have the problem corrected by an
authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility.

The convenience key* is a remote control key with
special

You can unlock/lock your veh icle w ith the remote

This key is not intended for constant use. It
should only be used in an emergency. Do not

ry it on your key r ing and do not store it in the ve­

Replacing a key
If a key is lost, see an authorized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility. Have

activated . It is important to bring all keys with
you . If a key is lost, you should report it to your
insurance company.
Number of keys
You can check the number of keys assigned to
your veh icle in the Infotainment system. Select:

This way, you can make sure that you have
all the keys when purchas ing a used veh icle.
Electronic immobilizer
T he immobilizer prevents unauthorized use of
the ve hicle.
Under certain circumstances, the vehicle may not
be able to start if there is a key from a different
vehicle manufacturer on the key chain.
Data in the master key
When driving, service and ma intenance-relevant
data is cont inuously stored in your remote
con­
trol key . Your A udi se rvice advisor can read out
this data and tell you abo ut the work your vehicle
needs. This applies also to vehicles with a
con­
venience key*.
Personal convenience settings
If two people use one vehicle, it is recommended
that each person always uses "their own" master
key. When the ign ition is turned off o r when the
vehicle is locked, pe rsonal conven ien ce settings
f or the fo llowing systems are stored and

The sunshade can be opened and closed by hand
when the roof is closed. The sunshade opens au­
tomatically when the roof is opened.
You can still operate the sliding/tilting sunroof
for about 10 minutes after the ignition is switch­
ed off. The switch is deactivated once the driver's
or front passenger's door is opened.
A WARNING
Pay careful attention when closing the slid­
ing/tilting sunroof
-otherwise serious injury
could result! Always take the ign it ion key with
you when leaving the vehicle.

Always close your sliding/tilt ing sunroof when
leaving your veh icle. Sudden ra in can cause
damage to the interior equ ipment of your ve­
hicle, particularly the electronic equ ipment.

Sunroof power emergency closing

If the sunroof detects an object in its path when
it is clos ing, it w ill open again automatically. In
this case, you can close the roof w ith the power
emergency closing function.
~ Within five seconds afte r the sunroof opens au­

closes .
I f you let go of the sw itch early, the sunroof will
open again.

With the garage door opener (Homelink), you
can activate systems such as the garage doors,
security systems or house lights from inside your
vehicle. Three buttons are integrated in the head­
liner that can be programmed to up to three re­
mote controls.
To be able to operate systems using the garage
door opener, the buttons in the headliner must
first be programmed .
A WARNING

When operating or programming the garage
door opener, make s ure that no people or ob­
jects are in the a rea immediate ly s urrounding
the equ ipment. People can be injured or prop­
erty can be damaged if struck when closing .
