2017 MAZDA MODEL CX-5 headlight bulb

The rear fog light indicator light in the
instrument cluster illuminates while the
rear fog light is on.

Fog light switch
To turn the rear fog light off, do any of the
following:
•Rotate the fog light switch to the
position again (the fog light switch
returns to its original position
automatically).
•Turn the headlight switch to the
position.
The rear fog light indicator light in the
instrument cluster goes off when the rear
fog light is turned off.
NOTE
(With auto-light control)
When the headlight switch is in the
position and the headlights, exterior lights
and instrument panel illuminated, the rear
fog light turns on when the rear fog light
switch is turned on.
Turn and Lane-Change Signals
The ignition must be switched ON to use
the turn and lane-change signals.
▼Direction Indicators
Move the signal lever down (for a left
turn) or up (for a right turn) to the stop
position. The signal will self-cancel after
the turn is completed.

If the indicator light continues to flash
after a turn, ma
nually return th e lever to its
original position.

The direction indicato

the direction indicator lever to show which
signal is working.

NOTE
•If an indicator light stays on without
flashing or if it flashes abnormally, one
of the direction indicator bulbs may be
burned out.
•A personalised function is available to
change the turn indicator sound volume.

▼Replacing Exterior Light Bulbs
Headlights, Running lights/Position

The LED bulb cannot be replaced as a
single unit because it is an integrated unit.
The LED bulb has to be replaced with the
unit. We recommend an Authorised Mazda
Repairer when the replacement is
necessary.
Front direction indicator lights, Position
lights (Type B)
1. Make sure the ignition is switched off,
and the headlight switch is off.
2. Lift the bonnet. Refer to Bonnet on page 6-22.
3. Turn the socket and bulb assembly anticlockwise and remove it.
4. Disconnect the bulb from the socket. Front direction indicator lights

5. Install the new bulb in the reverse
order of the removal procedure.
Running lights (Type B)
*
1. Make sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is off.
2. If you are changing the right bulb, start
the engine, turn the steering wheel all
the way to the left, and turn off engine.
If you are changing the left bulb, turn
the steering wheel to the right.
3. Pull the centre of each plastic retainer
using a flathead screwdriver and
remove the retainers, and then partially
peel back the over fender.

4. Pull the centre of each plastic retainerusing a flathead screwdriver and
remove the retainers, and then partially
peel back the mudguard.

5. Turn the socket and bulb assemblyanticlockwise and remove it.
6. Disconnect the bulb from the socket.
7. Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
Rear direction indicator lights, Brake
lights/Tail lights (Type B)
1. Make sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is off.
2. Wrap a small flathead screwdriver witha soft cloth to prev ent damage to the
cover, and then remove the cover with
the flathead screwdriver.
3. Turn the screws anticlockwise and remove them.
4. Pull the unit rearward to remove it.
5. Turn the socket and bulb assembly
anticlockwise and remove it.

Number plate lights
1. Make sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is off.
2. Wrap a flathead screwdriver with a soft cloth to prevent damage to the
lens, and then remove the lens by
carefully prying on t he edge of the lens
with a flathead screwdriver.
