ADJUSTING THE STEERING WHEEL
Note:
Make sure that you are sitting in the
correct position. See Sitting in the Correct
Position (page 148). WARNING
Do not adjust the steering wheel when
your vehicle is moving. Use the control on the side of the steering
column to adjust the position.
To adjust:
•
Tilt: Press the top or bottom of the
control.
• Telescope: Press the front or rear of the
control.
End of Travel Position
The steering column sets a stopping position
just short of the end of the column position
to prevent damage to the steering column.
A new stopping position sets if the steering
column encounters an object when tilting or
telescoping.
To reset the steering column to its normal
stopping position:
1. Confirm there is nothing obstructing the motion of the steering column.
2. Press and hold the steering column control until the steering column stops
moving.
3. Press the steering column control again.
The steering column may begin to move
again. 4. When the steering column stops,
continue holding the control for an
additional few seconds.
5. Repeat for each direction as necessary.
A new stopping position is set. The next time
you tilt or telescope the steering column, it
will stop just short of the end of the column
position.
Memory Feature
You can save and recall the steering column
position with the memory function.
See
Memory Function (page 156).
Note: Pressing the adjustment control during
memory recall cancels the operation.
Easy Entry and Exit Feature
When you switch the ignition off, the steering
column will move to allow extra room to exit
your vehicle. The column will return to the
previous setting when you switch the ignition
on. You can enable or disable this feature in
the information display.

Headlamp High Beam
Push the lever away from you to switch the
high beam on.
Push the lever away from you again or pull
the lever toward you to switch the high beam
off.
Headlamp Flasher Slightly pull the lever toward you and release
it to flash the headlamps.
AUTOLAMPS
WARNING
The autolamps switch position may not
activate the headlamps in all low
visibility conditions, such as daytime fog.
Always ensure that your headlamps are
switched to auto or on, as appropriate, during
all low visibility conditions. Failure to do so
may result in a crash. The headlamps will switch on and off
automatically in low light situations or during
inclement weather.
The headlamps will remain on for a period
of time after you switch the ignition off. Use
the information display controls to adjust the
period of time that the headlamps will remain
on. See Information Displays (page 110).
When the headlamp switch is in the
Autolamps position, the windshield wiper
activated exterior lamps will turn on within
10 seconds when you switch the windshield
wipers on. The exterior lamps will turn off
approximately 60 seconds after you switch
the windshield wipers off.

This feature does not turn on the exterior
lamps:
•
during a mist wipe
• while the wipers are on to clear washer
fluid during a wash condition
• if the wipers are in automatic or
intermittent modes.
Note: If you have autolamps and autowipers
switched on the low beam headlamps will
turn on automatically when the windshield
wipers operate continuously.
Note: You may have to manually switch the
headlamps on in severe weather conditions.
Note: If you have autolamps switched on
you can only switch the high beam
headlamps on once the system has turned
the headlamps on.
INSTRUMENT LIGHTING DIMMER
Note: If you disconnect and connect the
battery, or fully discharge and charge the
battery, the illuminated components will
switch to the maximum setting. Press repeatedly or press and hold
to dim.
A
Press repeatedly or press and hold
to brighten.
B HEADLAMP EXIT DELAY
After you switch the ignition off, you can
switch the headlamps on by pulling the
direction indicator lever toward you. You will
hear a short tone. The headlamps will switch
off automatically after three minutes with any
door open or 30 seconds after the last door
has been closed. You can cancel this feature
by pulling the direction indicator toward you
again or switching the ignition on.
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS WARNING
Always remember to switch your
headlamps on in low light situations or
during inclement weather. The system does
not activate the tail lamps and may not
provide adequate lighting during these
conditions. Failure to activate your
headlamps under these conditions may result
in a collision. The system switches the lamps on in daylight
conditions.

To switch the system on, switch the ignition
on, and switch the lighting control to the off,
autolamp or parking lamp position.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM
CONTROL (If Equipped)
The system automatically turns on the high
beams if it is dark enough and no other traffic
is present. When it detects the headlights of
an approaching vehicle, the rear lamps of
the preceding vehicle or street lighting, the
system turns off the high beams before they
distract other drivers. The low beams remain
on.
Note: If it appears that automatic high beam
is not functioning properly, check the
windshield in front of the camera for a
blockage. A clear view of the road is
required for proper system operation. Make
sure that authorized personnel repair any
windshield damage in the area of the
camera's field of view. Note:
If the system detects a blockage such
as bird droppings, bug splatter, snow or ice,
and you do not observe changes, the system
may go into low beam mode until you clear
the blockage. A message may also appear
in the information display noting the front
camera is blocked.
Note: Typical road dust, dirt and water spots
do not affect the performance of the
automatic high beam control. However, in
cold or inclement weather conditions, you
may notice a decrease in the availability of
the automatic high beam control, especially
at start up. If you want to change the beam
state independently of the system, you may
switch the high beams on or off using the
lighting control switch. Automatic high beam
control resumes when conditions are correct.
Note: Modification of your vehicle ride height
such as using much larger tires, may
degrade feature performance.
A camera sensor, centrally mounted behind
the windshield of your vehicle, continuously
monitors conditions to decide when to switch
the high beams off and on. Once the system is active, the high beams
switch on if:
•
The ambient light level is low enough.
• There is no traffic in front of the vehicle.
• The vehicle speed is greater than
approximately 31 mph (50 km/h).
The high beams turn off if:
• The system detects the headlamps of an
approaching vehicle or the rear lamps of
a preceding vehicle.
• Vehicle speed falls below approximately
26 mph (42 km/h)
.
• The ambient light level is high enough
that high beams are not required.
• The system detects severe rain, snow or
fog.
• The camera is blocked.
Activating the System
Switch on the system in the information
display and switch the lighting control to the
autolamps position.

Window Lock
Press the control to lock or unlock the rear
window controls. It will illuminate when you
lock the rear window controls.
Accessory Delay
You can use the window switches for several
minutes after you switch the ignition off or
until you open either front door.
GLOBAL OPENING AND CLOSING
You can use the remote control to operate
the windows with the ignition off. Note:
You can enable or disable this feature
in the information display or see an
authorized dealer. See General Information
(page 110).
Note: To operate this feature, accessory
delay must not be active.
Opening the Windows
You can only open the windows for a short
time after you unlock your vehicle with the
remote control. After you unlock your vehicle,
press and hold the remote control unlock
button to open the windows. Release the
button once movement starts. Press the lock
or unlock button to stop movement.
Closing the Windows WARNING
When closing the power windows, you
should verify they are free of
obstructions and make sure that children and
pets are not in the proximity of the window
openings. To close the windows, press and hold the
remote control lock button. Release the
button once movement starts. Press the lock
or unlock button to stop movement.

Information that appears in the left and right
information group varies depending on
current gauge, on-demand and HUD (if
equipped) settings. See General
Information (page 110).
Fuel Gauge
Note: The fuel gauge may vary slightly when
your vehicle is moving or on a gradient. Switch the ignition on. The fuel gauge
indicates approximately how much fuel is left
in the fuel tank. The arrow adjacent to the
fuel pump symbol indicates on which side of
your vehicle the fuel filler door is located.
The gauge is divided into four segments and
moves towards F when you refuel your
vehicle. The gauge fill color changes to
yellow in low fuel conditions and to red in
empty conditions. If the gauge fill color is red
after adding fuel, this indicates your vehicle
needs service soon.
After refueling some variability in gauge
position is normal:
•
It may take a short time for the gauge to
reach full after leaving the gas station.
This is normal and depends upon the
slope of pavement at the gas station.
• The fuel amount dispensed into the tank
is a little less or more than the gauge
indicated. This is normal and depends
upon the slope of pavement at the gas
station. •
If the gas station nozzle shuts off before
the tank is full, try a different gas pump
nozzle.
• There is a small reserve left in the tank
when the fuel gauge reaches empty.
Low Fuel Reminder
Note: The low fuel reminder can appear at
different fuel gauge positions depending on
fuel economy conditions. This variation is
normal.
A low fuel reminder triggers when the
distance to empty reaches 50 mph (80 km/h),
25 mph (40 km/h)
and 10 mph (16 km/h) to
empty.

Automatic High Beam (If Equipped)
Illuminates when this feature is on.

Auto Start-stop
(If Equipped) It illuminates to inform you when
the engine shuts down or in
conjunction with a message.
Battery If it illuminates while driving, it
indicates a malfunction. Switch off
all unnecessary electrical
equipment and have the system checked by
your authorized dealer immediately.
Blind Spot Monitor
(If Equipped) It illuminates when you switch this
feature off or in conjunction with a
message.
See Blind Spot
Information System (page 245). Brake System It illuminates when you engage the
parking brake with the ignition on.
If it illuminates when you are
driving, check that the parking brake is not
engaged. If the parking brake is not
engaged, this indicates low brake fluid level
or a brake system malfunction. Have the
system checked immediately by your
authorized dealer. WARNING
Driving your vehicle with the warning
lamp on is dangerous. A significant
decrease in braking performance may occur.
It will take you longer to stop your vehicle.
Have your vehicle checked by your
authorized dealer immediately. Driving
extended distances with the parking brake
engaged can cause brake failure and the risk
of personal injury. Cruise Control
(If Equipped)
Illuminates when you switch this
feature on.Direction Indicator Illuminates when the left or right
turn signal or the hazard warning
flasher is turned on. If the
indicators stay on or flash faster, check for a
burned out bulb.

Door Ajar Displays when the ignition is on
and any door is not completely
closed.
Also displays when there is a lack of battery
power to the electronic door system. If this
displays with all doors closed, have your
vehicle serviced by an authorized dealer
immediately.
Electric Park Brake Illuminates or flashes when the
electric parking brake has a
malfunction.

Engine Coolant Temperature
Illuminates when the engine
coolant temperature is high. Stop
the vehicle as soon as possible,
switch off the engine and let cool. See
Engine Coolant Check (page 314).
Engine Oil If it illuminates with the engine
running or when you are driving,
this indicates a malfunction. Stop
your vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so
and switch the engine off. Check the engine
oil level.
See Engine Oil Check (page 312).
Note: Do not resume your journey if it
illuminates despite the level being correct.
Have the system checked by your authorized
dealer immediately.
Fasten Seatbelt Illuminates and a chime sounds to
remind you to fasten your seatbelt.

Seatbelt Reminder (page 40).Front Airbag If it fails to illuminate when you
start your vehicle, continues to
flash or remains on, it indicates a
malfunction. Have the system checked by
your authorized dealer.
Head Up Display
(If Equipped) A red beam of lights illuminates on
the windshield in certain instances
when using adaptive cruise control
or the collision warning system. It also
illuminates momentarily when you start your
vehicle to make sure the display works.
High Beam Illuminates when you switch the
high beam headlamps on. It flashes
when you use the headlamp
flasher. Hood Ajar Displays when the ignition is on
and the hood is not completely
closed.
Low Fuel Level Illuminates when the fuel level is
low or the fuel tank is nearly
empty. Refuel as soon as possible.
Low Tire Pressure Warning Illuminates when your tire pressure
is low. If the lamp remains on with
the engine running or when
driving, check your tire pressure as soon as
possible.
It also illuminates momentarily when you
switch the ignition on to confirm the lamp is
functional. If it does not illuminate when you
switch the ignition on, or begins to flash at
any time, have the system checked by your
authorized dealer.
