■Opening the moon roof
●Do not allow any passengers to put their hands or heads outside the vehicle while it ismoving.
●Do not sit on top of the moon roof.
■Opening and closing the moon roof
●The driver is responsible for moon ro of opening and closing operations. In order to prevent accidental operation, espe cially by a child, do not let a child oper-
ate the moon roof. It is possible for children and other passengers to have body parts caught in the moon roof.
■Jam protection function
●Never use any part of your body to intent ionally activate the jam protection function.
●The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before the
moon roof is fully closed. Also, the jam protection function is not designed to operate while the switch is being pressed. Take care so that your fingers, etc. do not get caught.
●Check to make sure that all passengers donot have any part of their body in a positionwhere it could be caught when the moon roof
is being operated.
●When using the wireless remote control or mechanical key and operating the moon roof,
operate the moon roof after checking to make sure that there is no possibility of anypassenger having any of their body parts
caught in the moon roof. Also, do not let a child operate moon roof by the wirelessremote control or mechanical key. It is possi-
ble for children and other passengers to get caught in the moon roof.
●When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine
switch off, carry the key and exit the vehicle along with the child. There may be accidentaloperation, due to mischief, etc., that may pos-
sibly lead to an accident.

Opens the panoramic moon roof*

The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■Operating the panoramic moon roof after turning the engine off
The panoramic moon roof and electronic suns hade can be operated for approximately 45 seconds after the engine switch is tu rned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however, be operated once the driver’s door is opened.
■Jam protection function
If an object is detected be tween the panoramic moon roof and the frame in the following situations, travel is stopped and th e panoramic moon roof opens slightly:
●The panoramic moon roof is closing or tilting down.
●The electronic sunshade is closing.
■Door lock linked panoramic moon roof operation
●The panoramic moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key.* (P. 711)
●The panoramic moon roof can be opened and closed using the wireless remote con-
trol.* ( P. 140)
*: These settings must be customized at any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and equipped professional.

●The driver is responsible for panoramic m oon roof opening and closing operations. In order to prevent accidental operation, espe cially by a child, do not let a child oper-
ate the panoramic moon roof. It is possibl e for children and other passengers to have body parts caught in the panoramic moon roof.
■Jam protection function

●When using the wireless remote control or mechanical key and operating the panoramic
moon roof, operate th e panoramic moon roof after checking to make sure that there is nopossibility of any passe nger having any of
their body parts caught in the panoramic moon roof. Also, do not let a child operate
panoramic moon roof by the wireless remote control or mechanical key. It is possible forchildren and other passengers to get caught
in the panoramic moon roof.
●When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, carry the key and exit the vehicle
along with the child. There may be accidental operation, due to mischief, etc., that may pos-sibly lead to an accident.

With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to D. (P. 251)
Release the parking brake. ( P. 260)
If the parking brake is in automatic mode, the parking brake is released automatically when shifting the shift lever to any position other than P. ( P. 259)
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently depress the accelerator pedal
to accelerate the vehicle.
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
RX200t: If the Stop & Start system is en abled, depressing the brake pedal will stop the engine.
If necessary, set the parking brake. ( P. 260)
If the vehicle is to be stopped for an extended period of time, shift the shift lever to P or N. ( P. 251)
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
Set the parking brake ( P. 260), and shift the shift lever to P (P. 251).
Press the engine switch to stop the engine.
Lock the door, making sure that you ha ve the electronic key on your person.
If parking on a hill, block the wheels as needed.

Check that the parking brake is set.
Check that the shift lever is in P.
Firmly depress the brake pedal.
and a message will be displayed on the multi-information display.
If it is not displayed, the engine cannot be started.
Press the engine switch shortly and
firmly.
When operating the engine switch, one
short, firm press is enough. It is not necessary to press and hold theswitch.
The engine will crank un til it starts or for up to 30 seconds, whichever is less.
Continue depressing the brake pedal until the engine is completely started.
The engine can be started from any
engine switch mode.
Stop the vehicle completely.
Set the parking brake ( P. 259), and shift the shift lever to P.
Press the engine switch.
Release the brake pedal and check that the display on the meters is off.

■Auto power off function
If the vehicle is left in ACCESSORY mode for more than 20 minutes or IGNITION ON mode (the engine is not running) for more than an hour with the shift lever in P, the engineswitch will automatically turn off. However, this function cannot entirely prevent battery
discharge. Do not leave the vehicle with the engine switch in ACCESSORY or IGNI- TION ON mode for long periods of time when the engine is not running.

■If the engine does not start
●The engine immobilizer system may not have been deactivated. (P. 77) Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified andequipped professional.
●Check that the shift lever is securely set in P. The engine may not start if the shift lever is displaced out of P. “To Start Vehicle, Put Shift Lever into P” will be displayed on themulti-information display.
■Steering lock
After turning the engine switch off and opening and closing the doors, the steering wheel will be locked due to the steering lock functi on. Operating the engine switch again auto-
matically cancels the steering lock.
■When the steering lock cannot be released
■Steering lock motor overheating prevention
To prevent the steering lock motor from over heating, operation of the motor may be sus-
pended if the engine is turned on and off repeat edly in a short period of time. In this case, refrain from operating the engine switch. After about 10 seconds, the steering lockmotor will resume functioning.
■When “Smart Entry & Start System Malfunction See Owner’s Manual” is displayed onthe multi-information display
The system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qua lified and equipped professional immediately.
“Steering Wheel Lock Press Engine Switch while Turning Wheel” will be displayed on themulti-information display.
Check that the shift lever is in P. Press the engine switch while turning the steering wheelleft and right.

■Operation of the engine switch
●If the switch is not pressed shortly and firmly, the engine switch mode may not change or the engine may not start.
●If attempting to restart the engine immediately after turning the engine switch off, the
engine may not start in some cases. After turning the engine switch off, please wait a few seconds before restarting the engine.
■If the smart entry & start system has been deactivated by a customized setting

WARNING
■When starting the engine
Always start the engine while sitting in the driver’s seat. Do not depress the accelerator pedal while starting the engine under any circumstances.
Doing so may cause an accident resu lting in death or serious injury.
■Caution while driving
If engine failure occurs while the vehicle is moving, do not lock or open the doors until
the vehicle reaches a safe and complete stop. Activation of the steering lock in this cir- cumstance may lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
■Stopping the engine in an emergency
If you want to stop the engine in an emer gency while driving the vehicle, press and hold the engine switch for more than 2 seconds, or press it briefly 3 times or more in succes- sion. ( P. 657)
However, do not touch the engine switch while driving except in an emergency. Turning the engine off while driving will not cause loss of steering or braking control, but the power assist to these systems will be lost. Th is will make it more difficult to steer and
brake, so you should pull over and stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.

■Registering air conditioning settings to electronic keys (vehicles with driving position
memory)
●Unlocking the vehicle using an electronic ke y and turning the engine switch to IGNI- TION ON mode will recall that key’s registered air conditioning settings.
●When the engine switch is turned off, the current air conditioning settings will automat- ically be registered to the electronic key that was used to unlock the vehicle.
●The system may not operate correctly if more than one electronic key is in the vicinity or
if the smart entry & start system is used to unlock a passenger door.
●The doors that can recall the air conditioni ng setting when unlocked using the smart entry & start system can be changed.* For details, contact any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qu alified and equipped professional.
*: The doors that can recall the driving position memory are changed at the same time.
■Using automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the temperature setting and the ambi-
ent conditions. Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until wa rm or cool air is ready to flow immediately after the “AUTO” button is pressed or “AUTO” is selected.
■Operation of S-FLOW mode
In automatic mode, S-FLOW mode will be turned off if a rear door has been opened and
closed. To activate S-FLOW mode again, press .
■Automatic mode for air intake control (if equipped)
In automatic mode, the system detects exhaust gas and other pollutants and automati-
cally switches between outside air and recirculated air modes.
When the dehumidification function is off, and the fan is operating, turning automatic mode on will activate the dehumidification function.
■Fogging up of the windows
●The windows will easily fog up when the humidi ty in the vehicle is high. Selecting “A/C” will dehumidify the air from the outlets and defog the windshield effectively.
●If you turn “A/C” off, the windows may fog up more easily.
●The windows may fog up if the recirculated air mode is used.
