CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE
1. Remove the valve stem cap from the tire.
2. Press the pressure gauge squarely onto thevalve stem. Do not press too hard or force
the valve stem sideways, or air will escape. If
the hissing sound of air escaping from the
tire is heard while checking the pressure,
reposition the gauge to eliminate this leak-
age.
3. Remove the gauge. 4. Read the tire pressure on the gauge stem
and compare it to the specification shown
on the Tire and Loading Information label.
5. Add air to the tire as needed. If too much air is added, press the core of the valve stem
briefly with the tip of the gauge stem to
release pressure. Recheck the pressure and
add or release air as needed.
6. Install the valve stem cap.
7. Check the pressure of all other tires, includ- ing the spare.

•Do not stop or park the vehicle over flam-
mable materials such as dry grass, waste-
paper or rags. They may ignite and cause a
fire.
CAUTION
•Do not use leaded gasoline. (SeeRecom-
mended fluids/lubricants and capacities in
the 9. Maintenance and Schedules sec-
tion.) Deposits from leaded gasoline seri-
ously reduce the ability of the three-way
catalyst to help reduce exhaust pollutants
and/or damage the three-way catalyst.
•Keep your engine tuned up. Malfunctions in
the ignition, fuel injection, or electrical sys-
tems may cause overrich fuel to flow into
the three-way catalyst, causing it to over-
heat. Do not keep driving if the engine mis-
fires, or if noticeable loss of performance or
other unusual operating conditions are de-
tected. Have the vehicle inspected
promptly. It is recommended you visit an
INFINITI retailer for this service.
•Avoid driving with an extremely low fuel
level. Running out of fuel could cause the engine to misfire, damaging the three-way
catalyst.
•Do not race the engine while warming it up.
•Do not push or tow your vehicle to start the
engine.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
(TPMS)
Each tire, including the spare (if present),
should be checked monthly when cold and
inflated to the inflation pressure recommended
by the vehicle manufacturer on the vehicle
placard or tire inflation pressure label. (If your
vehicle has tires of a different size than the size
indicated on the vehicle placard or tire inflation
pressure label, you should determine the
proper tire inflation pressure for those tires.)
As an added safety feature, your vehicle has
been equipped with a tire pressure monitoring
system (TPMS) that illuminates a low tire pres-
sure telltale when one or more of your tires is
significantly under-inflated. Accordingly, when
the low tire pressure telltale illuminates, you
should stop and check your tires as soon as
possible, and inflate them to the proper pres-
sure. Driving on a significantly under-inflated
tire causes the tire to overheat and can lead totire failure. Under-inflation also reduces fuel
efficiency and tire tread life, and may affect the
vehicle’s handling and stopping ability.
Please note that the TPMS is not a substitute for
proper tire maintenance, and it is the driver’s
responsibility to maintain correct tire pressure,
even if under-inflation has not reached the level
to trigger illumination of the TPMS low tire
pressure telltale.
Your vehicle has also been equipped with a
TPMS malfunction indicator to indicate when
the system is not operating properly. The TPMS
malfunction indicator is combined with the low
tire pressure telltale. When the system detects
a malfunction, the telltale will flash for approxi-
mately one minute and then remain continu-
ously illuminated. This sequence will continue
upon subsequent vehicle start-ups as long as
the malfunction exists. When the malfunction
indicator is illuminated, the system may not be
able to detect or signal low tire pressure as
intended. TPMS malfunctions may occur for a
variety of reasons, including the installation of
replacement or alternate tires or wheels on the
vehicle that prevent the TPMS from working
properly. Always check the TPMS telltale after
replacing one or more tires or wheels on your
vehicle to ensure that the replacement or alter-
nate tires and wheels allow the TPMS to con-
tinue to function properly.

•The system will not operate at speeds below
approximately 40 MPH (60 km/h) or if it
cannot detect lane markers.
•The LDW system is primarily intended for
use on well-developed freeways or high-
ways. It may not detect the lane markers in
certain roads, weather or driving condi-
tions.
•Do not use the LDW system under the fol-
lowing conditions as it may not function
properly:– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow,
etc.).
– When driving on slippery roads, such as
on ice or snow, etc.
– When driving on winding or uneven
roads.
– When there is a lane closure due to road
repairs.
– When driving in a makeshift or tempo-
rary lane.
– When driving on roads where the lane
width is too narrow.
– When driving without normal tire condi-
tions (for example, tire wear, low tire
pressure, installation of spare tire, tire
chains, non-standard wheels).
– When the vehicle is equipped with non-
original brake parts or suspension parts.
•The camera may not detect lane markers in
the following situations and the LDW sys-
tem may not operate properly.
– On roads where there are multiple paral-
lel lane markers; lane markers that are
faded or not painted clearly; yellow
painted lane markers; non-standard lane
markers; or lane markers covered with
water, dirt, snow, etc.
– On roads where the discontinued lane
markers are still detectable.
– On roads where there are sharp curves.
– On roads where there are sharply con-
trasting objects, such as shadows,
snow, water, wheel ruts, seams or lines
remaining after road repairs. (The LDW
system could detect these items as lane
markers.)
– On roads where the traveling lane
merges or separates.
– When the vehicle’s traveling direction
does not align with the lane marker.
– When traveling close to the vehicle in
front of you, which obstructs the lane
camera unit detection range.
– When rain, snow or dirt adheres to the
windshield in front of the lane camera
unit. –
When the headlights are not bright due
to dirt on the lens or if the aiming is not
adjusted properly.
– When strong light enters the lane cam-
era unit. (For example, the light directly
shines on the front of the vehicle at sun-
rise or sunset.)
– When a sudden change in brightness oc-
curs. (For example, when the vehicle en-
ters or exits a tunnel or under a bridge.)
– When there is poor visibility. (For ex-
ample, due to insufficient illumination of
the road, or due to snow, rain, fog or
spray.
– When there is glare. (For example, from
oncoming traffic, the sun or reflection
when the road is wet).

In addition to the vehicle load, the driving
distance possible depends upon:
•Vehicle speed.
•Road condition.
•Outside temperature.
The driving distance possible in run-flat mode
may be reduced by extreme driving conditions/
maneuvers, or it can be increased through a
moderate style of driving.
The driving distance possible in run-flat mode is
counted from the moment the tire pressure loss
warning appears in the vehicle information dis-
play.
You must not exceed a maximum speed of 50
MPH (80 km/h).
When replacing one or all tires, observe the
following specifications for your vehicle’s tires:
•Size
•Type
•Run-flat mark
If a tire has gone flat and cannot be replaced
with a run flat tire, a standard tire may be used
as a temporary measure. Make sure that you
use the proper size and type (summer or winter
tire).
WARNING
Do not exceed the stated maximum speed.
Avoid abrupt steering and driving maneuvers,
and driving over obstacles (curbs, pot holes,
off road). This applies in particular to a laden
vehicle.
Stop driving in emergency mode if:
•You hear banging noises.
•The vehicle starts to shake.
•You see smoke and smell rubber.
•VDC is intervening constantly.
•There are tears in the sidewalls of the tire.
After driving in emergency mode, have the
wheel rims checked with regard to their further
use. It is recommended you visit an INFINITI
retailer for this service. The faulty tire must be
replaced.
REMOVING AND FITTING WHEELS

A spare wheel is not provided with your vehicle.
Blocking the wheels
WARNING
Make sure to block the appropriate wheel to
prevent the vehicle from moving, which may
cause personal injury.

6. Carefully raise the vehicle until the tire clears the ground.
7. Remove the wheel bolts, then remove the wheel with the flat tire.
WARNING
The wheel is heavy. Be sure that your feet are
clear of the wheel and use gloves as necessary
to avoid injury.
Installing the wheel
WARNING
•A temporary use spare wheel and tire is de-
signed for emergency use.
•Never use wheel bolts other than those pro-
vided with your vehicle. Incorrect wheel
bolts or improperly tightened wheel bolts
may cause the wheel to become loose or
come off. This could cause an accident.
•Never use oil or grease on the wheel bolts.
This may cause the wheel bolts to become

1. Clean any mud or dirt from the surface between the wheel and the hub.
2. Carefully fit the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts with your fingers. Check that all the
wheel bolts contact the wheel surface hori-
zontally and on the bevelled side.
Models with wheel lock bolt (if equipped):
Insert the wheel lock key into the wheel lock
bolt and tighten into the wheel finger tight.
3. With the wheel wrench, tighten the wheel bolts alternately and evenly in the sequence
as illustrated (
1-5) until they are tight.
4. Lower the vehicle slowly until the tire touches the ground.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS)
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
monitors tire pressure of all tires. When the low
tire pressure warning light is lit, one or more of
the tires is significantly under-inflated.
The TPMS will activate only when the vehicle is
driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h). Also,
this system may not detect a sudden drop in tire
pressure (for example a flat tire while driving).

Tire inflation pressure
Check the tire pressures (including the spare)
often and always prior to long distance trips.
The recommended tire pressure specifications
are shown on the F.M.V.S.S./C.M.V.S.S. label or
the Tire and Loading Information label (if so
equipped) under the Cold Tire Pressure head-
ing. The Tire and Loading Information label is
affixed to the driver side center pillar. Tire pressures should be checked regularly be-
cause:
•Most tires naturally lose air over time.
•Tires can lose air suddenly when driven over
potholes or other objects or if the vehicle
strikes a curb while parking.
The tire pressures should be checked when the
tires are cold. The tires are considered COLD
after the vehicle has been parked for 3 or more
hours, or driven less than 1 mile (1.6 km) at
moderate speeds.
WARNING
•Improperly inflated tires can fail suddenly
and cause an accident.
•The Gross Vehicle Weight rating (GVWR) is
located on the F.M.V.S. S./C.M.V.S.S. certi-
fication label. The vehicle weight capacity is
indicated on the Tire and Loading Informa-
tion label (if so equipped). Do not load your
vehicle beyond this capacity. Overloading
your vehicle may result in reduced tire life,
unsafe operating conditions due to prema-
ture tire failure, or unfavorable handling
characteristics and could also lead to a se-
rious accident. Loading beyond the speci-
fied capacity may also result in failure of
other vehicle components.

•Before taking a long trip, or whenever you
heavily load your vehicle, use a tire pres-
sure gauge to ensure that the tire pressures
are at the specified level.
•For additional information regarding tires,
refer to “Important Tire Safety Information”
(US) or “Tire Safety Information” (Canada)
in the Warranty Information Booklet.

1Seating capacity: The maximum number of
occupants that can be seated in the vehicle.
2Vehicle load limit: See Vehicle loading

3Original size: The size of the tires originally
installed on the vehicle at the factory.
4Cold tire pressure: Inflate the tires to this
pressure when the tires are cold. Tires are
considered COLD after the vehicle has been
parked for 3 or more hours, or driven less
than 1 mile (1.6 km) at moderate speeds.
The recommended cold tire inflation is set
by the manufacturer to provide the best
balance of tire wear, vehicle handling,
driveability, tire noise, etc., up to the vehi-
cle’s GVWR.

TIRE LABELING
Federal law requires tire manufacturers to place
standardized information on the sidewall of all
tires. This information identifies and describes
the fundamental characteristics of the tire and
also provides the tire identification number
(TIN) for safety standard certification. The TIN
can be used to identify the tire in case of a
recall.
