•In very rare cases, High beam Assist recog-
nizes road users too late or not at all. In this,
or in similar situations, the automatic high
beam headlights will not be deactivated or
activated regardless. There is a risk of an
accident.
•Always carefully observe the traffic condi-
tions and switch off the high beam head-
lights in good time.
CAUTION
High beam Assist cannot compensate for road
and weather circumstances while driving. The
system saves the driver from having to operate
the switch. The driver always remains respon-
sible for choosing the correct light setting.
Specific situations in which to operate the
headlight switch manually:
•In heavy rain, snowy conditions. (general
poor visibility and bad weather conditions).
•When the vehicle sensors are dirty, covered
or broken.
Switching High Beam Assist on/off
To switch on:
Turn the light switch to
combination switch beyond the pressure point
in the direction of arrow
3. Theindicator
light in the vehicle information display lights up
when it is dark and the light sensor switches on
the low-beam headlights.
If you are driving at speeds above approxi-
mately 28 MPH (45 km/h) the headlight range is
set automatically depending on the distance
between the vehicle and other road users.
If you are driving at speeds above approxi-
mately 34 MPH (55 km/h) and no other road
users are detected, the high beam headlights
are switched on automatically. The
indi- cator light in the combination meter also lights
up.
If you are driving at speeds below approxi-
mately 28 MPH (45 km/h) or other road users
are detected or the roads are adequately lit The
high beam headlights are switched off auto-
matically. The
indicator light in the com-
bination meter goes out. Theindicator
light in the vehicle information display remains
lit.
To deactivate
:
Move the combination switch back to its normal
position Theindicator light in the vehicle
information display goes out.

The power outlet is used for powering electrical
accessories such as a cellular telephone.
An emergency cut-off ensures that the on-board
voltage does not drop too low. If the on board
voltage is too low, the power to the sockets is
automatically cut. This ensures that there is
sufficient power to start the engine.
CAUTION
•The outlet and plug may be hot during or
immediately after use.
•Only certain power outlets are designed for
use with a cigarette lighter unit. Do not use
any other power outlet for an accessory
lighter. It is recommended you visit an
INFINITI retailer for additional information.
•Do not use with accessories that exceed a 12
volt, 180W (15A) power draw. Do not use
double adapters or more than one electrical
accessory.
•Use this power outlet with the engine run-
ning to avoid discharging the vehicle bat-
tery.
•Avoid using when the air conditioner, head-
lights or rear window defogger is on.
•Push the plug in as far as it will go. If good
contact is not made, the plug may overheat
or the internal temperature fuse may blow.
•Before inserting or disconnecting a plug, be

grated in the vehicle’s inside rear view mirror,
provides a convenient way to consolidate the
functions of up to three individual hand-held
transmitters into one built-in device.
HomeLink® Universal Transceiver:
•Will operate most Radio Frequency (RF) de-
vices such as garage doors, gates, home and
office lighting, entry door locks and security
systems.
•Is powered by your vehicle’s battery. No
separate batteries are required. If the vehi-
cle’s battery is discharged or is discon-
nected, HomeLink® will retain all program-
ming.
When the HomeLink® Universal Transceiver is
programmed, retain the original transmitter for
future programming procedures (Example: new
vehicle purchases). Upon sale of the vehicle, the
programmed HomeLink® Universal Transceiver
buttons should be erased for security purposes.

ming HomeLink® later in this section.

WARNING
•Do not use the HomeLink® Universal Trans-
ceiver with any garage door opener that
lacks safety stop and reverse features as
required by federal safety standards.
(These standards became effective for
opener models manufactured after April 1,
1982). A garage door opener which cannot
detect an object in the path of a closing
garage door and then automatically stop
and reverse, does not meet current federal
safety standards. Using a garage door
opener without these features increases the
risk of serious injury or death.
•During the programming procedure your ga-
rage door or security gate will open and
close (if the transmitter is within range).
Make sure that people or objects are clear of
the garage door, gate, etc. that you are pro-
gramming.
•Your vehicle’s engine should be turned off
while programming the HomeLink® Univer-
sal Transceiver.NOTE
Certain garage door drives are incompatible
with the integrated garage door opener. If you
have difficulty programing the integrated ga-
rage door opener, it is recommended you contact
your INFINITI retailer.
PROGRAMMING HOMELINK®
If you have any questions or are having diffi-
culty programming your HomeLink® buttons,
refer to the HomeLink® web site at:
www.homelink.com or call 1-800-355-3515.
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. Press and hold one of buttons
2to4on

HomeLink® is now in programing mode.
After a short time, indicator lamp
1lights
up yellow.
Indicator lamp
1lights up yellow as soon
as button
2,3or4is programed for the
first time. If the selected button has already
been programed, indicator lamp
1will only
light up yellow after ten seconds have
elapsed.
3. Release button

4. Position the end of your hand-held transmit-ter
52–8 inches (5–20 cm) away from the
HomeLink® surface, keeping the
HomeLink® indicator light
1in view.
5. Press and hold button
6on the hand held
transmitter until indicator lamp
1lights up
green. When indicator lamp
1: lights up
green: programing is finished.
When indicator lamp
1flashes green: pro-
graming was successful. The next step is to
synchronize the rolling code.
6. Release button
6on the hand held trans-
mitter
5for the garage door drive system.
If indicator lamp
1lights up red: repeat the
programing procedure for the corresponding
button on the rear-view mirror. When doing
so, vary the distance between the hand held
transmitter
5and the rear-view mirror.
The required distance between the hand
held transmitter
5and the integrated ga-
rage door opener depends on the garage
door drive system. Several attempts might
be necessary. You should test every position
for at least 25 seconds before trying another
position.
Synchronizing the rolling code
If the garage door system uses a rolling code,
you will also have to synchronize the garage
door system with the integrated garage door
opener in the rear-view mirror. To do this you
will need to use the programing button on the
door drive control panel. The programing button
may be positioned at different locations de-
pending on the manufacturer. It is usually lo-
cated on the door drive unit on the garage
ceiling.
Familiarize yourself with the garage door drive
operating instructions before carrying out the
following steps.
Your vehicle must be within reach of the garage
door or gate opener drive. Make sure that
neither your vehicle nor any persons/ objects
are present within the sweep of the door or
gate.
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. Get out of the vehicle.
3. Press the programing button on the door drive unit.
Usually, you now have 30 seconds to initiate
the next step.
4. Get into the vehicle. 5. Press previously programed button
2,3or4on the HomeLink® until the door
closes.
The rolling code synchronization is then com-
plete.
If you live in Canada
Canadian radio frequency laws require a break
(or interruption) of the transmission signals
after broadcasting for a few seconds. Therefore,
these signals may not last long enough for the
integrated garage door opener. The signal is not
recognized during programing. Comparable
with Canadian law, some U.S. garage door
openers also feature a break.
Proceed as follows:
•If you live in Canada
•If you have difficulties programing the ga-
rage door opener (regardless of where you
live) when using the programing steps.
1. Press and hold one of buttons
2to4on
the HomeLink®. After a short time, indicator
lamp
1lights up yellow.
2. Release the button. Indicator lamp
1flashes yellow.
