LANE KEEPING SYSTEM (If
Equipped)
WARNING
The system is designed to aid thedriver. It is not intended to replaceyour attention and judgment. You arestill responsible to drive with due care andattention.
Note:The system works as long as thecamera can detect one lane marking at aspeed above 40 mph (64 km/h).
Note:The system may not function if thecamera is blocked or there is damage to thewindshield.
The Lane Keeping System automaticallydetects and tracks the road lane markingsusing a camera mounted behind theinterior review view mirror. The systemnotifies you to stay in your lane when thefront camera detects an unintentional lanechange is likely to occur.
Switching the System On and Off
Note:The system on or off setting is storeduntil it is manually changed, unless a MyKeyis detected. If the system detects a MyKey,it defaults to on and the mode is set to alert.
Note:If a MyKey is detected, pressing thebutton will not affect the on or off status ofthe system. You can only change the modeand intensity settings.
Press the button located on thecenter console to switch thesystem on or off.
System Settings
The system sensitivity and intensity canbe adjusted through the display screen.See General Information (page 111). Thesystem remembers the last selection. Youdo not need to readjust the setting eachtime you turn on your vehicle.
Sensitivity: This setting allows you toselect where in the lane a warning isprovided. Increasing the sensitivity settingmoves the warning zones in closer to yourvehicle.

Intensity: This setting affects the intensityof the steering wheel vibration. Increasingthe intensity causes a higher rate of hapticfeedback.

Make sure that the trailer and truck are inline with each other. You can do this byputting the truck in drive (D) and pullingstraight forward.
Step 2: Follow the Information DisplayPrompts
1. Use the steering wheel controls tonavigate to the towing menu.
2.Select Trailer Setup from the availableoptions.
3. Select Add a Trailer and press OK toconfirm.
4. The system prompts you to name thetrailer. Use the steering wheel controlsto choose the alphanumericcharacters. Press the right arrow toadvance to the next letter. When youhave finished spelling out the name ofthe trailer, press OK to confirm.
5. Select the type of brake system foryour trailer. Select DEFAULT if yourtrailer has electric, surge or no brakes.Press OK to select and advance to thenext screen
Note:The default option is low. This isrecommended for most trailers. If thetrailer's brakes require more initial voltage,or if you prefer more aggressive braking thenselect the other options as required.
6. The system asks you to select yourtrailer type. You can use TRG withconventional, fifth wheel andgooseneck trailers. For fifth wheel andgooseneck trailers, set up and stickerplacement are not required, howeversome of the features do not operateautomatically with these trailer types.Use the steering wheel controls toselect your trailer type.
7. If your vehicle includes the Blind SpotInformation System (BLIS), the systemfirst prompts you to set up the TrailerBLIS feature. See GeneralInformation (page 111).
8. A message appears in the informationdisplay asking if you want to add TrailerReverse Guidance. Select Yes tocontinue.
9. Straighten out the trailer, if necessary.
10. The information display directs youto the Quick Start Guide for how toproceed. The steps are also shownhere.
Step 3: Placing the Target
Place the entire sticker in the gray zone onthe trailer outlined in the diagram. Thesticker is in the back cover pocket of theQuick Start Guide.
Note:An assistant can help to carry out thefollowing procedure.
Note:Make sure nothing can obstruct theRear View Camera's view of the sticker. Forexample, items such as a jack handle orwiring.
Note:Position the sticker on a flat, dry andclean horizontal surface. For best resultsapply the sticker when temperatures areabove 32°F (0°C).
Note:Do not move stickers after they areplaced. Do not re-use any stickers ifremoved.

Use the supplied measurement card, atape measure and pen to carefully markthe area where to attach the sticker(supplied in the back cover pocket of yourQuick Start Guide). Make sure the wholesticker is within the gray zone between thetwo arcs or distance markers on thediagram, and is also visible in the Rear ViewCamera display. It should be between 7 in(17 cm) and 20 in (51 cm) from the trailerball hitch.
Once you have determined the correctlocation, place the sticker.
Step 4: Take Measurements
After the sticker is correctly placed on thetrailer you must take some keymeasurements.
Note:Accurate measurements must betaken for the system to operate properly.
Note:Round measurement figures to thenearest half inch.
Note:Round upward if the measured lengthis a quarter inch or greater. Rounddownward if the measure length is less thana quarter inch. For example 12.25 in(31.11 cm) would be rounded up to 12.50 in(31.75 cm). 12.13 in (30.8 cm) would berounded down to 12.00 in (30.48 cm).
Note:Use consistent metric or imperialunits as required by your country or vehicle.
Record the four key distances (A, B, C, D)as required by the measurement card.Record the trailer name for thesemeasurements.
Distance A
The horizontal distance from the licenseplate to the center of the ball hitch on thetrailer.
Distance B
The horizontal distance from the center ofthe ball hitch to the center of the sticker.
Distance C
The distance from the Rear View Camerato the center of the sticker.
Distance D
The distance from the tailgate to thecenter of the trailer axle (single axletrailers), or the center of the axles (trailerswith dual axles or more).

Wheel misalignment in the frontor the rear can cause uneven andrapid treadwear of your tires andshould be corrected by anauthorized dealer. Front-wheeldrive vehicles and those with anindependent rear suspension mayrequire alignment of all fourwheels.
The tires should also be balancedperiodically. An unbalanced tireand wheel assembly may result inirregular tire wear.
Tire Rotation
WARNING
If the tire label showsdifferent tire pressures for thefront and rear tires and the vehicle
has a tire pressure monitoringsystem, then you need to updatethe settings for the systemsensors. Always perform thesystem reset procedure after tirerotation. If you do not reset thesystem, it may not provide a lowtire pressure warning whennecessary.
Note:If your tires show unevenwear ask an authorized dealer tocheck for and correct any wheelmisalignment, tire imbalance ormechanical problem involvedbefore tire rotation.
Note:Your vehicle may beequipped with a dissimilar sparewheel and tire assembly. Adissimilar spare wheel and tireassembly is defined as a sparewheel and tire assembly that isdifferent in brand, size orappearance from the road tires andwheels. If you have a dissimilarspare wheel and tire assembly it isintended for temporary use onlyand should not be used in a tirerotation.
Note:After having your tiresrotated, inflation pressure must bechecked and adjusted to thevehicle requirements.
Rotating your tires at therecommended interval (asindicated in the ScheduledMaintenance chapter) will helpyour tires wear more evenly,providing better tire performanceand longer tire life. Sometimeirregular tire wear can becorrected by rotating the tires.

Dual rear wheel drive vehicle - sixtire rotation (front tires at top ofdiagram).
If your vehicle is equipped withdual rear wheels it isrecommended that the front andrear tires (in pairs) be rotated onlyside to side. We do notrecommend splitting up the dualrear wheels. Rotate them side toside as a set. After tire rotation,inflation pressures must beadjusted for the tires newpositions in accordance withvehicle requirements.
Note:When installing 17-inch dualrear wheels, align the valve stemsfacing each other.
